I have been looking for this pattern for a hat...to match the pattern I already have for a scarf. Thank you so much for a nice clear video. I crochet for a charity that provides beanie/scarfs and sets to mariners at sea at Christmas time. There are 15,000 mariners at sea and in our waterways away from their families at Christmas. This will make a really stunning set.
I've watched almost all crochet hat tutorials on the RUclips and even examined some of them on my yarn. None of them looked as beautiful as yours on the yarn I have. Thank you so much.
I have made two this past week. A teal one for myself, and a gray one for my 18 year old son (bio-grandson, whom we raised). I was going to wait to give it at Christmas, but with snow and temps falling here in WNY, I gave it to him today. And, I am thinking this has become my favorite pattern. Looks classy and is so nice and thick!
Thank you! I made this hat for my grandma who usually goes south for the winter but obviously couldn’t this year. She loves it! I’ll be making this one again and again.
Thank you so much! It really does look tricky but once you have the repeated stitches down, it's so simple! I love how it almost looks cabled (without having to know how to crochet cables).
Hi there! I love this pattern btw but I'm having trouble because I'm crocheting my beanie and it just seems waay smaller than yours looks.im still towards the beginning. It is about 8 inches tall. So if you have any pointers I would really appreciate it! Thank you!
Y’all are forgetting it doesn’t say “beginner” on it. Anyway.. This hat is adorable ! Very good tutorial, I am going to make some of these for a craft fair 😃
I made this hat today and it turned out so beautiful! Thank you so much for this great pattern and tutorial. Your voice is so calming. The slip stitches made me take wayyyy longer than I normally would. For some reason I always have trouble when there are a lot of slip stitches. Although I don't crochet tightly, it's hard to get into those stitches. But worth it for the final product. Can I ask where you got the design for the labels? They are gorgeous.
Thank you! Those stitches are a bit fiddly to get into but I love the stretch they give. I made the designs out of some doodles I'd been working on (I love having an ipad pro to draw with)! The lettering is inspired by the fonts Mathlete & Shorelines which are both free to download (:
That sounds adorable! I've been asked this a few times so I think I'll write out a pattern for children's sizes. Hopefully I can get that done this month! You could decrease the number of 5 sl st, 5 hdc repeats (to decrease the height of the hat). And decrease the number of rows. I have no idea what the right combination of would be for a child's size hat but I'll figure it out soon!
Thank you so much! I'd love to see how your hat turns out! I just figured out the settings on my microphone haha. Maybe I'll do some crafty ASMR one day? Who knows!
Norma Isiordia Thanks so much! The edge is actually worked on one end of each row. The hat is all worked in one flat piece so you won’t have to worry about adding on the edge later. I hope this helps!
Marika Mclaughlin don’t worry! The pattern is worked in flat rows instead of in the round. The 46 chains determine the height of the hat (from the bottom to the crown). When you finish crocheting the flat piece, it will be long enough to fit around your head. I hope this helps!
The ribbing at the top & bottom is actually worked into the pattern. It's all worked as a flat piece then joined on one side and at the top. I hope this helps!

Narges Ghaedi yay! I’m glad the pattern worked out for you. I think this stitch pattern looks nice on almost any yarn type.
This is the nicest and thickest crochet hat I have ever made. Great directions and a great pattern! THANK YOU SO MUCH!
Thank you! It's my favorite crochet hat too! I need to make many more as Christmas gifts this year.

Easy enough to adjust for a child!
I loved your video I used a thicker yarn and a 8mm hook turned out great
Great instructions! Also, I agree with other viewers--YOUR VOICE is so nice to listen to!
Thank you! I really appreciate all these nice comments. I'm still very new at this so it's amazing to get so much kind feedback.

Thank you for this wonderful pattern looks complex, but the way you have explained it makes it seem easy,so thank you again

It would be nice if you can post the descriptions of row2 thru row5, so we don’t have to rewind the video to continue the project. Thanks.

Jasmine B use a bigger number of crochet hook and may be bulkier yarn

@@PicotPalslove the iPad Pro and procreate! 👍🏻 good job.
Didn’t see the instructions for the ribbed rim, where dipoles that show up?
How to do de repeat row 2_5
Hi I would like to know the name of this stich please
If I want the brim to be snug, can I just use a smaller hook on that part of the hat?
sure! I think that would work. I'd just measure it around my head beforehand.
Hi. This is a beautiful hat. How many would I crochet for a youngsters hat. She is 6 and would like to make mummy and daughter the same hat x

The beanie is beautiful, I’m currently putting in an online order for Aran yarn so I can make it ❤️ your voice is so soothing too 😍
Thank you so much! I'd love to see how your hat turns out!
I just figured out the settings on my microphone haha. Maybe I'll do some crafty ASMR one day? Who knows!
Crafty ASMR sounds awesome! 😍 you’ll have me asleep in 2 minutes though, I’d get nothing done!

Thank you so much for your nice comments! I hope everything turns out well. Let me know if you have any questions along the way..
what size hat is this, for adults
? i love it and want to follow along, but i am wanting to make it for a 5 year old.
Thank you for posting this tutorial I saw this on Pinterest this hat is absolutely beautiful
Thanks so much! I updated my original pattern a little in this tutorial to make it easier to follow and a little bit more snug.
Excellent tutorial. Your work is beautiful and you voice is very calming. Just subscribed!
Sarah Jackson thank you! I’m still getting used to doing voiceovers so I really appreciate the compliment!
I can’t find the link to the pattern. Please tell me where to find it!!!
Love this and REALLY love the label ♥️ 👍 Liked and Subscribed
Is there any sound on this video?
Very nice voice....
I am so new to this hat making, after you finished row 57 does that count as the the edge?
Norma Isiordia Thanks so much! The edge is actually worked on one end of each row.
The hat is all worked in one flat piece so you won’t have to worry about adding on the edge later.
I hope this helps!
How should I start row 6?
5Blo slip stit, then 5 slip, then 5 hdc?
Row 6 is the following:
10 BLO sc, *5 BLO sl st, 5 BLO hdc* repeat from * to * 3 times, 5 BLO sl st, ch 1, turn
I hope this helps!
Thanks alot
No problem (:
Just to clarify is row 6 a repeat of row 2? please?
Hi Inessa. New to your channel and so glad I found you. This tutorial is wonderful.
She really sounds like Selena Gomes.😍
the link for the free pattern is infected. just fyi.
thank you
So glad I found your channel 🤗.. new subscriber and I can’t wait to make this beautiful hat
Thank you so much! I can't wait to share more of my hat pattern tutorials (:
I am using 4ply yarn with 5 mmhook I chained 46 and it does not go around my head. What should i do or what am I doing wrong. Help
Marika Mclaughlin don’t worry! The pattern is worked in flat rows instead of in the round.
The 46 chains determine the height of the hat (from the bottom to the crown).
When you finish crocheting the flat piece, it will be long enough to fit around your head.
I hope this helps!
Excellent, thank you!
The 10 blo sc, is that basically the ribbing at the end?
yep! that creates the ribbing.
Hi there you need to turn up your volume up I have mine almost as high as it will go and we still can barely hear you thank you.
I think I keep getting my stitch count off track. How many stitches should be in each row?
Heather Scott 45 plus one turning stitch
@@favicamacho1834 Thank you!
Plz how do we make the band
The band and the upper section of the hat are all worked in one piece. The hat is worked in flat rows instead of in the round. I hope this helps!
Beautiful beanie! What size does this fit? Thank you.
Emma Padilla Thanks! This pattern should fit most adults. Hopefully soon I can come up with a child & toddler pattern too!
I added another 4 rows for my dad!!
@@scoutthespaniel978 That's really smart! It's the perfect fix for this pattern if it's too snug.
WOW. New subscriber. Thanks
I saw this same hat on another channel?
This voice is hypnotizing
This is gorgeous, thank you!
Thanks so much (:
I love this! Thank you for taking the time to make the video
Thanks so much (:
I have a question. Is this the size for a teenager or small adult?
This size should fit most adults. For a larger hat, do another repeat before seaming both ends together. I hope this helps!
@@PicotPals Thank you.
Did I miss how to do the ribbing at top and bottom?
The ribbing at the top & bottom is actually worked into the pattern. It's all worked as a flat piece then joined on one side and at the top.
I hope this helps!
@@PicotPals I am following your video and not sure I got that. Will try again - thank you.
great!! so clever!! thank you !!
Thank you! It took me a long time to get this pattern just right but I'm so glad that I figured it out (:
I am glad too, it's so nice !! happy new year :)

Hahaha I have to admit that I drink coffee while I’m editing my videos. Crochet tutorials are too relaxing for me!
❤❤❤
Nice pattern
Nice tutorial
Nice explanation
I wish you could have lil zoom the video so that we can cleary follow your work! ❤️
I lop this
Μα γιατί το δείχνεις τόσο γρήγορα για να μην το πλεξουμε;
Too fast
You are too fast . You are expert in your work . I could not get your explanation. Sorry to say that .
Be
Selena Gomez crochets? lol
Muy mala instructora, nadie podría entender de esa forma tan rápida como se detalla 👎
Not beginner friendly. When you are a beginner you MUST show eberything you do up close and slowly 🐢
Way to fast, you need to slow down and explain thing in more detail
Please speak up ; i can barely hear you .
