For Guides I'll second the two other mentioned by others. The Ultimate 2021/2022 Dreamcather guide by Dreamworld is probably the most comprehensive guide while the This is______ series by Insomnicsy is all about focusing on each of the members. There are 3 seasons to that guide with each season being different clips.
"It's all over the place but it works" is pretty much the summary of Dreamcatcher's music. The good thing is, you don't get overwhelmed since each music element supports each other instead of clashing. Although, I agree that the members are overwhelming us with their stage presence and talents xD

There's a guide that was made right before Vision. It gets a couple of roles wrong. Other than that, it's a pros and cons kind of deal. It covers some character content that doesn't usually get mentioned so I think that's kind of refreshing. Also, so much important shit happened in 2022 that, at this point, not including that information is a huge let down for me, personally. My own opinion on that. If the 2021/2022 guide was updated with current achievements and information, it'd be chef's kiss. End of the day, I'm happy with either. Important thing is that someone new is enjoying the girls and their music. That new fan will eventually find out everything along the way anyway.

They are the dark angels of Kpop and the only girl group who consistently incorporate Rock and Metal in their title tracks, fusing that with Kpop into something that basically is a new genre. They also are drenched in horror and social criticism, which again is special. Plus, they are massively talented, all of them. And while the girls look like they could rip out your spine when they are on stage, off stage they are adorable crackheads. 😉 Their Chinese member Handong got stuck in China for about a year when the pandemic hit (it did not help that she is from Wuhan of all places), so she was missing from Scream and Boca. But she made her triumphant return in Odd Eye. Scream is part 1 of the Dystopia trilogy, which is about cyber-bullying, hateful comments and people losing themselves in the (fake) online world. It is mostly showing the victim's perspective of (cyber)bullying, comparing it to a medieval witch hunt and a burning at the stake. The tree is the tree of language, and it grows black fruit for every hurtful thing people say. Note also the hand gesture, it is the devil's horns introduced by Ronnie James Dio as a symbol for metal, but it originally was a gesture in the middle ages to ward off the evil eye, tying into the witch hunt theme. I really enjoy the music, it's rock mixed with EDM. Dreamcatcher are always very creative, and they are in their own genre by this point. Deja Vu is nothing short of a masterpiece. It is a beautiful, fragile ballad that kicks your teeth down your throat in the chorus. It is extra difficult to sort out, because it tells the story from two perspectives. You know how even evil people think they are the good guys? This is reflected here. One perspective is Yoohyeon's, who gets corrupted right in the beginning. She thinks JiU is bad (does not want to share power) and backstabs her and kills, imprisons or banishes the other members so that she can rule alone. The other perspective is reality, where we can see JiU be kind to Yoohyeon, but she gets killed for it. I believe this is a commentary on the different perspectives people can have about the same event. The lyrics seem to hint at an abusive relationship, where there are usually two perspectives as well, and the abuser finds excuses to justify their actions, while the abused find themselves in an endless Deja Vu. Boca means "mouth" in Spanish and Portuguese and is part 2 of the Dystopia trilogy. Boca has the lines "Why do you fill your precious time with hate" and "Too many angels dying now", which points to the effects those comments can have. Several Kpop idols have committed suicide in recent years, most likely because of cyber-bullying, but this is also about all the unnamed people who suffer from online bullies. A girlgroup tackling such a subject impresses the hell out of me. They literally go to war in this video and tell haters to go and shut their "Boca" in the lyrics. And the song is absolutely awesome! Who said you can't have three different musical genres in one song? Odd Eye is part 3 of the Dystopia trilogy. People can get lost in the world of the Internet and social media and their online personas can take over their life. Dreamcatcher want us to use our odd eye to see through the lies (on Facebook and others) and don't be fooled by the "lies masked in sweetness". I can only recommend to keep reacting to them, they are always interesting and entertaining! And the song is a banger!

Boca was my first MV of theirs. Odd Eye was my first comeback. Dami (deep voice rapper) and Siyeon (the one that went off at the end of boca and “where is the love” verse and blonde in Odd Eye ) are my biases. SuA (sword in scream) and JiU (purple hair in scream and blonde in Deja Vu) are my bias wreckers. And then Handing (holding this pain verse and dark blue hair in odd eye) has recently become my wrecker of wreckers. I was blessed to see them live last year. Deja Vu is a collab with the mobile game kings raid. It was done before Scream. Of the 4 you watched, Deja Vu and Odd Eye have all 7 members. The masked dancer in Scream marks Handong’s part. Handong was only supposed to miss just Tree of Language album, but then Covid hit and being from Wuhan, China she had to stay in China for longer because of regulations and thus missed Boca. Deja Vu should have been there first win. Their first 6 mvs- Chase Me, Good Night, Fly High, You and I, What and Piri make up their Nightmare series. Dreamcatcher is my favorite group, I love them so much. When watching your twice videos (which were also great) I knew you needed to see dreamcatcher when you said you liked rock sounds. Although dreamcatcher can make any genre work. The dystopia trilogy (scream, boca, odd eye) is fantastic. The only downside of starting with it is that only 6 of the 7 members are in the first two since handong was in China

Dreamcatcher has one of the most unique stories in K-pop, and the background on the group and their struggles is epic in my opinion. I would recommend watching it first, before the Ultimate guide.

5:20 so the group has 7 members, but Handong is from Wuhan and she was in China when covid went widespread and got stuck there. Everyone was so afraid back then because nobody really knew what was going on so having the same home town as the place where the pandemic started made travel impossible. The mask is part of the symbology of the whole trilogy, of course, but I believe the masked dancer in the Scream MV is there to represent Handong too.

Just as a quick explanation as to why there's a member that is sometimes there and sometimes not, Handong went to China to compete on a survival show and got stuck there for a while because of the covid pandemic. She was gone for the Scream and Boca comebacks but managed to return for the Odd Eye comeback.

I would suggest Insomnicsy 'This is...' is Ana adorable, crazy, amazingly well edited sort of mini series with two Seasons which gives you a great idea of who all this super talented, mega dorky, lovable gorgeous women are ☺️

i recommend watching insomniscys “this is __” series! it started in i believe 2020 or 2021 so start with that and then watch the next two years playlists! theyre short vids for each member but give a great sense of skill, personality and group dynamic!
You liked Yoohyeon the first two videos, then you liked Siyeon, then both. Here is a guide so you can say their names without stress. They're pretty easy if you remember the vowels are all ee, oo, or ah (Except Dong, that's her real name from China) and Si is pronounced "she". JiU jee-yoo, SuA soo-ah, Siyeon she-yawn ("yawn" isn't insulting, in her name 시연, the 연 sounds exactly like yawn), Handong hahn-dong, Dami dah-mee, for both of these add H in front of yawn for "hyawn" Yoohyeon yoo-hyawn, Gahyeon gah-hyawn. I think you'll really like BEcause and Reason with distinctive Dami rap and more Siyeon. Each member has at least one solo song, often more, and many covers on top of that. Yoohyeon's is called For, also her Touch or Secret Love Song covers (Little Mix). Siyeon's solos are Entrancing and Paradise, recent cover of Oort Cloud with SuA (Younha). They sound VERY different from the Dreamcatcher you know so far, not a fake-out like Deja Vu. Each member also has 3 series of This Is... like 'This Is... Yoohyeon (2022)' and 'This Is... Siyeon (2022)', always seven minutes each, to get to know each member.
There are sk many groups I can't yet pick a bias but with Dreamcatcher it was really easy for me SuA stole my heart from the very first mv i watched wich was scream and first listen to song was because.. i fall instantly in love with them and they are in my top 3 list for two years straight
The Ultimate 2021/2022 Guide is quite excellent, but there have been 3 comebacks and two very significant events (both positive) for the group since it was made. I'd probably start with Isomnicsy's Road To Fame from this past January where you can hear the history of the group in their own words and then go through the most recent This is series also by Insomnicy (as others have said) to sort through the women in the group. All three years' versions are excellent but the most recent will likely be best for your purposes.
On the other hand, only 5 minutes of Dreamcatcher guides are about the music or history of the group then the last 35 minutes are member profiles. The members are WAY more interesting than knowing the order of the discography. For that reason my favorite guide is still the Spicy guide by multi serendipity from 2020 (2m on music, 15m on members) and you can see the order of songs since then in seven of the paragraphs Insomnia leave in comments.

If you would like to get to know each separate member better with no song spoilers, then the YT channel called insomnicsy is the way to go. That channel made three different series of videos (three years in a row, 2020, 2021, 2022) called 'This Is' and just type in which member you want.. Each of those videos are seven minutes long so you could conceivably do one reaction at a time or bunch some together for longer videos if you wanted. The 2020 series has 8 videos because insomnicsy added a final video to it with 'This Is DreamCatcher', instead of just a single member. The series for both 2021 and 2022 only have seven videos each but all of these videos are seven minutes. They are not really 'guide' videos so there is no real technical information, but if you are going to watch that great big long guide video, you won't need that stuff to watch any of the 'This Is' series anyway. Those videos are really good for identifying each of the ladies by how they have each changed their appearances throughout their careers, so no matter what era of music video you see afterward, you will know which lady is which. insomnicsy helped me IMMENSELY in finally being able to put names to faces and to tell the ladies apart from each other. There were instances where loads of people have mixed up who-was-who in the MVs, including their own mothers in one case! :)

Honestly Dreamcatcher dosent have a single bad song. The wide variety of genre in their discography is incredible ( most title tracks are Rock/"metal" inspired, but b-sides go everywhere, RnB, Jazz, EDM, etc etc ) their Japanese releases are probably the most heavy songs they have ( heavy as in most metal inspired ). They are also absolute queens of Relay Dances, I will say Abracadabra and just leave it at that 😂 you'll understand when you get there😂😂. I could recommend this song or that song , but honestly there's no point, just pick ANY song from them, you will like it. That's how amazing our girls are. SuA (sword in scream) and JiU (purple hair in scream and blonde in Deja Vu) are my bias wreckers. And then Handing (holding this pain verse and dark blue hair in odd eye) has recently become my wrecker of wreckers. I was blessed to see them live last year.
Deja Vu is a collab with the mobile game kings raid. It was done before Scream. Of the 4 you watched, Deja Vu and Odd Eye have all 7 members. The masked dancer in Scream marks Handong’s part. Handong was only supposed to miss just Tree of Language album, but then Covid hit and being from Wuhan, China she had to stay in China for longer because of regulations and thus missed Boca. Deja Vu should have been there first win.
Their first 6 mvs- Chase Me, Good Night, Fly High, You and I, What and Piri make up their Nightmare series. Breaking out, their first Japanese release, is also considered apart of it.

Dreamcatcher is my favorite group, I love them so much. When watching your twice videos (which were also great) I knew you needed to see dreamcatcher when you said you liked rock sounds. Although dreamcatcher can make any genre work. The dystopia trilogy (scream, boca, odd eye) is fantastic. The only downside of starting with it is that only 6 of the 7 members are in the first two since handong was in China

It's an older guide, but the narrator tells the story about how Dreamcatcher came to be, that just draws you in, it's called "Dodging disbandment and other extreme sports a history of dreamcatcher" by Mera. Dreamcatcher has one of the most unique stories in K-pop, and the background on the group and their struggles is epic in my opinion. I would recommend watching it first, before the Ultimate guide.

5:20 so the group has 7 members, but Handong is from Wuhan and she was in China when covid went widespread and got stuck there. Everyone was so afraid back then because nobody really knew what was going on so having the same home town as the place where the pandemic started made travel impossible. The mask is part of the symbology of the whole trilogy, of course, but I believe the masked dancer in the Scream MV is there to represent Handong too.

Just as a quick explanation as to why there's a member that is sometimes there and sometimes not, Handong went to China to compete on a survival show and got stuck there for a while because of the covid pandemic. She was gone for the Scream and Boca comebacks but managed to return for the Odd Eye comeback.

i recommend watching insomniscys “this is __” series! it started in i believe 2020 or 2021 so start with that and then watch the next two years playlists! theyre short vids for each member but give a great sense of skill, personality and group dynamic!

You liked Yoohyeon the first two videos, then you liked Siyeon, then both. Here is a guide so you can say their names without stress. They're pretty easy if you remember the vowels are all ee, oo, or ah (Except Dong, that's her real name from China) and Si is pronounced "she". JiU jee-yoo, SuA soo-ah, Siyeon she-yawn ("yawn" isn't insulting, in her name 시연, the 연 sounds exactly like yawn), Handong hahn-dong, Dami dah-mee, for both of these add H in front of yawn for "hyawn" Yoohyeon yoo-hyawn, Gahyeon gah-hyawn. I think you'll really like BEcause and Reason with distinctive Dami rap and more Siyeon.
Each member has at least one solo song, often more, and many covers on top of that. Yoohyeon's is called For, also her Touch or Secret Love Song covers (Little Mix). Siyeon's solos are Entrancing and Paradise, recent cover of Oort Cloud with SuA (Younha). They sound VERY different from the Dreamcatcher you know so far, not a fake-out like Deja Vu. Each member also has 3 series of This Is... like 'This Is... Yoohyeon (2022)' and 'This Is... Siyeon (2022)', always seven minutes each, to get to know each member.

The Ultimate 2021/2022 Guide is quite excellent, but there have been 3 comebacks and two very significant events (both positive) for the group since it was made. I'd probably start with Isomnicsy's Road To Fame from this past January where you can hear the history of the group in their own words and then go through the most recent This is series also by Insomnicy (as others have said) to sort through the women in the group. All three years' versions are excellent but the most recent will likely be best for your purposes.
On the other hand, only 5 minutes of Dreamcatcher guides are about the music or history of the group then the last 35 minutes are member profiles. The members are WAY more interesting than knowing the order of the discography. For that reason my favorite guide is still the Spicy guide by multi serendipity from 2020 (2m on music, 15m on members) and you can see the order of songs since then in seven of the paragraphs Insomnia leave in comments.
@@TheGroovyJones This is ___ series is exclusively about the members, though, with 22 7-min episodes. (I don't suggest watching only the latest one; all three seasons are worth watching, they don't supersede each other.)

If you would like to get to know each separate member better with no song spoilers, then the YT channel called insomnicsy is the way to go. That channel made three different series of videos (three years in a row, 2020, 2021, 2022) called 'This Is' and just type in which member you want.. Each of those videos are seven minutes long so you could conceivably do one reaction at a time or bunch some together for longer videos if you wanted.
The 2020 series has 8 videos because insomnicsy added a final video to it with 'This Is DreamCatcher', instead of just a single member. The series for both 2021 and 2022 only have seven videos each but all of these videos are seven minutes.
They are not really 'guide' videos so there is no real technical information, but if you are going to watch that great big long guide video, you won't need that stuff to watch any of the 'This Is' series anyway.
Those videos are really good for identifying each of the ladies by how they have each changed their appearances throughout their careers, so no matter what era of music video you see afterward, you will know which lady is which. insomnicsy helped me IMMENSELY in finally being able to put names to faces and to tell the ladies apart from each other. There were instances where loads of people have mixed up who-was-who in the MVs, including their own mothers in one case! :)

The group LOVES that channel so they allow insomnicsy to keep doing their thing. insomnicsy is basically a super-fan of the group. It's basically free advertisement for the group and the videos are always done with positivity and love for the members (and for the other employees of the company too; they are basically one big family over there, really). :)

Honestly Dreamcatcher dosent have a single bad song. The wide variety of genre in their discography is incredible ( most title tracks are Rock/"metal" inspired, but b-sides go everywhere, RnB, Jazz, EDM, etc etc ) their Japanese releases are probably the most heavy songs they have ( heavy as in most metal inspired ).
They are also absolute queens of Relay Dances, I will say Abracadabra and just leave it at that 😂 you'll understand when you get there😂😂.
I could recommend this song or that song , but honestly there's no point, just pick ANY song from them, you will like it. That's how amazing our girls are.
