As far as i am aware, 'Acid Jazz' was a term used to describe people who were in to the rave scene in the UK (Acid House) but preferred jazzy music rather than house music.
Jay Kay is such a character and his vocals are sublime 😍
Acid jazz is what those of us that could produce beats and play keyboards but couldn't really perform would produce back in the early 2000s. But Jamiroquai is on another level obviously and I highly encourage you to check out their live performances

My brother you need to check out the band mute Math. especially their live performance of Tell your heart heads Up. I can tell you're a music fan like me and appreciate musicianship and I think you're going to get your mind blown.
I just had to edit to correct the band name to mute math. I use voice to text because I have sausage thumbs and have an accent so Google likes to screw me from time to time.
