- The fourth ion LRV from Bombardier has now arrived in Waterloo Region!
These trains are delivered via freight trains on a special flatbed rail car. All but the first are being built just outside of Kingston, Ontario, at Bombardier's facility in Millhaven. They travel up the Waterloo Spur on the train which delivers goods and supplies to local industries four times a week, in the evening.
In total, 14 trains will be delivered to start. 10 more to go!
What are those side white lights for?
If you mean on the crossing lights, I believe they call them "lunars". They point at the train, so that the driver can tell the lights and arms are functioning. They blink as the gates are raising and lowering, and stay on constantly once they're down and in position.

Hard to believe the 4th one has arrived. How soon before we see some live testing in downtown Kitchener..that will be sight to behold!
Hopefully, not too far into the new year! It's going to be so exciting!
