Dreamcatcher is the first K-pop group that I would call alternative. In the best sense.
Choreography for "Shatter" was created by longtime Dreamcatcher Performance Director Hwang Sooyeon and dancer Shinah Chu.
What purple hair Shinah Chu? Why don't I know that... never mind .... I just opened Instagram and saw the post.
My experience with Shatter has been interesting. In very short order I went from “what just happened” to “Wow” to “this song is masterful”.
I am very heavily biased toward choruses that are heavy on vocals, melody, and hook but this rhythmic track has somehow blasted up to the top of my favorite songs. I suspect I will wear it out a bit and it’ll return to earth but a week later I’m still absolutely loving it.
This whole thing shattered me. 😂 I think this is probably my favorite track from this album. Also, I love Dreamcatcher in white and these fits killed me.
As others have said the Choreography was done by Dreamcatcher's long time Performance Director Hwang Sooyeon, who is an extremely talented person. The whole concept of this song about Medusa and in my opinion the ending is just perfect with Siyeon not finishing the sentance as she turns into stone before completing it. This has to be right up there as one of my all time favorite's of theirs.
I am absolutely ADDICTED to Shatter, I was one of those that felt it was an instant favourite. There are multiple parts that I love, but the two that stand out the most for me are SuA and Gahyeon's harmonizing part, and Yoohyeon's beautifully haunting long note, I can't get enough of either of those parts. The video is just perfection to me, I love the way they implemented the lighting for it, it really has a Red Sun vibe for me with its production. I know others have said it already, but definitely give the showcase version a watch when you get the chance, Gahyeon was being particularly fierce during that, and the different camera work and lighting lets you see a bit more of the choreo, it's superb.

Great reaction and I agree about maybe my favorite performance ? Instant hit at first and even better now.
But the thing that intrigue me is that it is a [Dance Video]... Every B-Side like Red Sun to Demian were [Special Clip]. Why ? Are we getting more for Shatter ? Am I wishing too much ? I hope not.
JiU > Yoohyeon > Siyeon.
Remember, Gahyeon is a SMART lady, an information sponge with a great memory and she has been learning from these other ladies since some time in 2016. Gahyeon is also 24 years old and NOT a baby anymore. Of course she could pick up on the sexiness the other members have (even if they are not always TRYING to be, they just ARE. Thankfully along with that, Gahyeon has also picked up their Elegant vibe).
I really do wish to see more of this type of stylistic outfit in kpop. BECAUSE DAMN my Dreamcatcher girls look good in them. I know Aespa (i think?) had a similar outfit not that long ago. That aside, this song is so much better when packaged as a performance with choreo

I fell in love with this song the first time I head it, because that one part HIT ME HARD with emotionally. Guess what part it is. LOVE this song and nice reaction as always.

siyeon at the end is the only one who moves so I think she turns the girls to stone and her braids kinda remind me of medusa

yup. the best way to describe this is.. GOOSEBUMPS. Gahyeon coming out of nowhere like that.. must rewatch that quite a lot of times, for science 😨 Sua's deep voice in the chorus.. Jiu's angelic aura.. Siyeon and Yoohyeon being sooo expressive with the choreo.. nothing to prove anymore ❤

I still don't vibe with the song. The slow, haunting melody during the main verses is beautiful, but then they go into the harder, jarring chorus... it's just not for me. The choreo, however. With those outfits, and the stage almost resembling a gothic cathedral... absolutely glorious. JiU and Handong are still my co-biases, and Dami my wrecker... but did Gahyeon have to come at me so aggressively... ?
