Can we talk about how the dancer with the mask is not only a perfect way to deal with an absent member(Handong is participating in a Chinese program but will come back to Dreamcatcher after that, for those of you who don't know), but also fits so well in this concept? Their dance positions are symmetrical, but one is masked and breaks that symmetry and adds a mysterious, slightly dangerous vibe to the whole choreography, it shows that something is weird there or going wrong. I haven't read the lyrics or any theories yet, but it seems to me as a wonderful addition to the concept

I advise you to watch unhelpful guides to dreamcatcher then watch all the vlogs on their official challenge and then sub to 2 youtube channels called dorkcompany and dreamloh that do dreamcatcher content. You ll fall in love with them hard.
The fact that most of their fans came to them because of their rock/metal sound, yet this edm/rock fusion is proving itself to be a fan favorite shows that Dreamcatcher really is something else... They made the sound their own, the composers didn't give into typical traits of an edm song, it's still very elegant, dark, melodic and rhytmically complex and that's exactly what makes them Dreamcatcher, not an electric guitar in the chorus. Super proud of their evolution!

I used to listen (i still do but in moderation) to rock/metal bands so maybe it's just me but i really don't find it an edm/rock song. It sounds like a power metal because of the distortion on the drums. Try listening to nightwish or dragonforce to name a few and you will understand where I'm getting at. Peace!
Radek I watch the K- Ville top 100 every week on you tube. They also have a top 40 that the staff picks. The video clips they use are from the countdown and they picked Dreamcatcher for number one. And along the bottom it has their rankings and they are debuting on the countdown this week at #1. 😍
I love how they included a masked dancer to represent Handong's position in the choreo. Dreamcatcher truly is a group that love and appreciate their members to the fullest as if they are family (which they are). We, InSomnias, are so lucky to have them.

Some people don’t like that the girls stepped away from their usual pop rock sound for this comeback so here’s my thoughts on why Scream is the comeback Dreamcatcher needed: -The edm genre is wide and DC took an unconventional approach with the song. It’s heavy and intense and maintains the quality of their previous comebacks despite using less instruments. The song itself has elements often seen in symphonic metal music like the “scream scream scream” part in the chorus -All the girls get a chance to shine. Usually because Siyeon and Yoohyeon have the timbre of voice that best suits their title songs they get majority of the lines in the chorus. In this comeback, the music accentuates Gahyeon and Dami’s deep voices, Siyeon and SuA’s powerful lower ranges, and even the sweeter side of JiU and Yooheyon’s vocals -THE CONCEPT! We sometimes see this dark, intense, and mysterious concept from boy groups but as far as girl groups go the only at all similar concept I can think of is Moonbyul’s recent release Eclipse. -The choreography shows off their skill, coordination, and stage presence. DC have AMAZING energy while dancing, nothing looks boring and this really shows it !
They didn't even change their sound completely, they just produced a song with combined rock and EDM elements. To be honest, this is actually a genius move on their part. They are able to introduce a new sound to their song and still manage to keep the Dreamcatcher style that they're loved for.

Alright, here's my theory: Gahyeon is the devil with it's mask. She wants the heart and the power of the tree. Siyeon represents the old protector of the tree, a woman full of light and power. She has two sisters, Yoohyeon and Jiu. Jiu had always been a little bit jealous, because Siyeon has all the power and responsibility to protect the tree. Out of this feeling, the devil, Gahyeon, was able to make Jiu trusting her with a trick. Jiu turned to the devils side. Yoohyeon is searching for Jiu and she can't believe Jiu being evil. When the devil, Gayeon, tries to get the heart of the tree with Jius help, Yoohyeon is the one destroying the heart so that the devil can't have it. But since the trees heart is the source of Siyeons power, she is completely broken when the heart is destroyed and after Jius betrayel. Her new, broken self is represented by Sua with her sword, a none-magical weapon. And the chaos that the betrayel of her sister and the loss of power caused inside Siyeon made her turn from something pure and white into something dark. Dami is the older sister of Gahyeon, the powerful devil queen. Gahyeon wants the power of the tree because she wants to be more powerful than Dami, her sister. The similar feelings Gahyeon and Jiu have about their sisters support their connection. Since Gayeon uses Jiu to achieve her goals, Dami is the one giving Yoohyeon her sudden power and her ability to stand against Jiu and destroy the heart of the tree, so that Gahyeon will never be out of Damis control. It’s like Dami and Gayeon are the sources of Jius and Yoohyeons actions.

Because every "universe" is connected to Justice, aka VersuS series. The whole concept of the duology OOTD-Justice is parallel universes and obsession with "the crown". For the parallel universes part, all their stories before are related(Nightmare series, Dystopia, Apocalypse and even Deja-Vu and BEcause that were special releases). Everyime time they release a new album, they do some Mystery codes, games, and other things related to the story. There are videos on RUclips explaining the VersuS concept if you wanna check out more (especially for OOTD - this song had so many layouts that you can make 3 movies based on it). It's very interesting how they create their storyline, one of the best concepts in K-pop. They announced a new Universe for the next release so every fan is excited to see what they come up with. I really wish they will continue producing music and stories for many many years, but unfortunately their fan base is declining and who knows how much the group can sustain in this industry coming from a small company that depend on sales and touring...
For the hand symbols during the "Devil Eyes Come" part is such an incredible and smart choice to put into the choreography! Most would think the horn symbol (in some countries it does) mean the symbol of the Devil but I know that in Buddhism mudras hand gestures that the flat palm is for protection and the horn gesture is to ward off evil or expel demons. Since the gestures are faced towards the audience means that they are basically saying "BEGONE DEMONS" in this case HATERS. Brilliant. Tell em off queens!

Without a doubt Dreamcatcher is the difference maker not only in the current Gen of Kpop Girl Groups, but in the history of Kpop girl groups. Never has there been quite a group as unique as they are. Their sound is different, and that's what makes them unique and stand out.

Korean Music Awards aka Korean Grammy is the only award that is 100% experts, no voting and popularity that I trust. There are only 2 groups in 3rd gen who won it and mostly indie artists winning in that show. I just hope they notice DC and give them atleast a nomination for this year.

Dreamcatcher should've won in their last comeback, but The Show cheated them, so there's clearly more behind the scenes than actual facts. Even if they are supposed to win, someone's pulling the strings to not let it happen, so it's going to take an absolute monstrous gap to the point where faking results becomes a lot more obvious than the last for them to win, which given their popularity in Korea right now, isn't going to happen, unfortunately. On the bright side, Happyface is very supportive of them, they're not giving up, we're still getting good music, and they're the most important things. Wins are just a facade, no wins don't make them any less, don't make their music any worse and don't mean they're not good. Just like Robert Downey Jr doesn't have an Oscar win, but he's still regarded as one of the best actors. It's all in the fans' hearts.

I think there are people or even Insomnia who still don't realize how important Scream and The Tree Of Lenguage were to Dreamcatcher. The song broke expectations in every way not only internationally but also in Korea, it made many re-evaluate the girl groups because Scream was more like what a boy group would bring out than a girl group, the choreography was complicated and rough, with almost no movements feminine, the outfits were original and showed almost no skin, not to mention that many times they were the same color as the outfits of the support dancers but they showed so much charisma on stage that it was easy to differentiate them. Several Koreans began calling them Beast Group or Monster Group, because they were almost completely different from what a girl group was and when they introduced Black or White non-fans were impressed by the versatility of Dreamcatcher's charisma. Scream was not just an era, it was THE ERA, it was the moment when the industry, Korea and Kpop fans around the world knew that Dreamcatcher was a group to be taken seriously. --- Creo que hay personas o incluso Insomnias que aun no se dan cuenta de lo importante que fue Scream y The Tree Of Lenguage para Dreamcatcher. These girls are just too talented.... Here's me wondering how they were ever going to top Deja Vu, but they've only gone and done it. This is so dark and edgy, the raps are so goddamn cool sounding, and the trance EDM sound mixed with rock elements is so unique for kpop. This is perfect. I see a lot of comments saying that the "EDM sound" appeals to more ppl and reaches a wider audience or whatever but i guess im part of the minority that finds"EDM loud chorus" not pleasant at all. I actually used to like EDM overall in Kpop but the past year its been SOO overused that it totally killed it for me. But when I listened to this song i was actually very surprised i loved it. And it think its cuz of the "rock vibe" or elements in it. It makes it different, differentiates it from the rest we been hearing all year long. ITS UNIQUE. DC is DC. Leaning towards rock and had similar feelings, after all started to listen to them bc of the rock concept, but happy that they experiment/practice in diff genres. And also this doesn't sound like EDM to me. Sure it has "EDM sounds" but to me those are just synths, and were used just like other instruments. The chorus part still have all other instruments playing and the synths as lead.
In my opinion I like how Dreamcatcher has had a slight build up of their fame. I think that the fact that with each comeback they get more fans is great. Can we talk about how the dancer with the mask is not only a perfect way to deal with an absent member(Handong is participating in a Chinese program but will come back to Dreamcatcher after that, for those of you who don't know), but also fits so well in this concept? Their dance positions are symmetrical, but one is masked and breaks that symmetry and adds a mysterious, slightly dangerous vibe to the whole choreography, it shows that something is weird there or going wrong. I haven't read the lyrics or any theories yet, but it seems to me as a wonderful addition to the concept

Thank you DreamCatcher for being so amazing. The most underrated gg, they have the best vocal line in this generation.
The fact that most of their fans came to them because of their rock/metal sound, yet this edm/rock fusion is proving itself to be a fan favorite shows that Dreamcatcher really is something else... They made the sound their own, the composers didn't give into typical traits of an edm song, it's still very elegant, dark, melodic and rhytmically complex and that's exactly what makes them Dreamcatcher, not an electric guitar in the chorus. Super proud of their evolution!

I used to listen (i still do but in moderation) to rock/metal bands so maybe it's just me but i really don't find it an edm/rock song. It sounds like a power metal because of the distortion on the drums. Try listening to nightwish or dragonforce to name a few and you will understand where I'm getting at. Peace!

Some people don’t like that the girls stepped away from their usual pop rock sound for this comeback so here’s my thoughts on why Scream is the comeback Dreamcatcher needed:
-The edm genre is wide and DC took an unconventional approach with the song. It’s heavy and intense and maintains the quality of their previous comebacks despite using less instruments. The song itself has elements often seen in symphonic metal music like the “scream scream scream” part in the chorus
-All the girls get a chance to shine. Usually because Siyeon and Yoohyeon have the timbre of voice that best suits their title songs they get majority of the lines in the chorus. In this comeback, the music accentuates Gahyeon and Dami’s deep voices, Siyeon and SuA’s powerful lower ranges, and even the sweeter side of JiU and Yooheyon’s vocals
-THE CONCEPT! We sometimes see this dark, intense, and mysterious concept from boy groups but as far as girl groups go the only at all similar concept I can think of is Moonbyul’s recent release Eclipse.
-The choreography shows off their skill, coordination, and stage presence. DC have AMAZING energy while dancing, nothing looks boring and this really shows it !

They didn't even change their sound completely, they just produced a song with combined rock and EDM elements. To be honest, this is actually a genius move on their part. They are able to introduce a new sound to their song and still manage to keep the Dreamcatcher style that they're loved for.

Alright, here's my theory:
Gahyeon is the devil with it's mask. She wants the heart and the power of the tree.
Siyeon represents the old protector of the tree, a woman full of light and power. She has two sisters, Yoohyeon and Jiu. Jiu had always been a little bit jealous, because Siyeon has all the power and responsibility to protect the tree. Out of this feeling, the devil, Gahyeon, was able to make Jiu trusting her with a trick.
Jiu turned to the devils side. Yoohyeon is searching for Jiu and she can't believe Jiu being evil. When the devil, Gayeon, tries to get the heart of the tree with Jius help, Yoohyeon is the one destroying the heart so that the devil can't have it. But since the trees heart is the source of Siyeons power, she is completely broken when the heart is destroyed and after Jius betrayel. Her new, broken self is represented by Sua with her sword, a none-magical weapon.
And the chaos that the betrayel of her sister and the loss of power caused inside Siyeon made her turn from something pure and white into something dark.
Dami is the older sister of Gahyeon, the powerful devil queen. Gahyeon wants the power of the tree because she wants to be more powerful than Dami, her sister. The similar feelings Gahyeon and Jiu have about their sisters support their connection. Since Gayeon uses Jiu to achieve her goals, Dami is the one giving Yoohyeon her sudden power and her ability to stand against Jiu and destroy the heart of the tree, so that Gahyeon will never be out of Damis control.
It’s like Dami and Gayeon are the sources of Jius and Yoohyeons actions.
The reason why there is one with a mask is because that’s where handong will be

I FEEL LIKE JUSTICE IS CONNECTED TO SCREAM. THE 8TH PERSON'S OUTFIT, THE BURNING TREE, THE W/E.
Because every "universe" is connected to Justice, aka VersuS series. The whole concept of the duology OOTD-Justice is parallel universes and obsession with "the crown".
For the parallel universes part, all their stories before are related(Nightmare series, Dystopia, Apocalypse and even Deja-Vu and BEcause that were special releases). Everyime time they release a new album, they do some Mystery codes, games, and other things related to the story. There are videos on RUclips explaining the VersuS concept if you wanna check out more (especially for OOTD - this song had so many layouts that you can make 3 movies based on it).
It's very interesting how they create their storyline, one of the best concepts in K-pop. They announced a new Universe for the next release so every fan is excited to see what they come up with. I really wish they will continue producing music and stories for many many years, but unfortunately their fan base is declining and who knows how much the group can sustain in this industry coming from a small company that depend on sales and touring...
For the hand symbols during the "Devil Eyes Come" part is such an incredible and smart choice to put into the choreography! Most would think the horn symbol (in some countries it does) mean the symbol of the Devil but I know that in Buddhism mudras hand gestures that the flat palm is for protection and the horn gesture is to ward off evil or expel demons. Since the gestures are faced towards the audience means that they are basically saying "BEGONE DEMONS" in this case HATERS. Brilliant. Tell em off queens!

Nah, just IZ*ONE made it difficult as it is, now with BTS in the mix, no other groups even have a chance.
Dreamcatcher should've won in their last comeback, but The Show cheated them, so there's clearly more behind the scenes than actual facts. Even if they are supposed to win, someone's pulling the strings to not let it happen, so it's going to take an absolute monstrous gap to the point where faking results becomes a lot more obvious than the last for them to win, which given their popularity in Korea right now, isn't going to happen, unfortunately.
On the bright side, Happyface is very supportive of them, they're not giving up, we're still getting good music, and they're the most important things. Wins are just a facade, no wins don't make them any less, don't make their music any worse and don't mean they're not good. Just like Robert Downey Jr doesn't have an Oscar win, but he's still regarded as one of the best actors. It's all in the fans' hearts.

Dreamcatcher is very different in this aspect and that's why they've grown so much on me to the point where they're my ult gg but I guess that's why music is diverse. I think there are people or even Insomnia who still don't realize how important Scream and The Tree Of Lenguage were to Dreamcatcher. The song broke expectations in every way not only internationally but also in Korea, it made many re-evaluate the girl groups because Scream was more like what a boy group would bring out than a girl group, the choreography was complicated and rough, with almost no movements feminine, the outfits were original and showed almost no skin, not to mention that many times they were the same color as the outfits of the support dancers but they showed so much charisma on stage that it was easy to differentiate them. Several Koreans began calling them Beast Group or Monster Group, because they were almost completely different from what a girl group was and when they introduced Black or White non-fans were impressed by the versatility of Dreamcatcher's charisma. Scream was not just an era, it was THE ERA, it was the moment when the industry, Korea and Kpop fans around the world knew that Dreamcatcher was a group to be taken seriously.

La cancion rompio las expectativas en todos los sentidos no solo internacionalmente sino tambien en Corea, hizo que muchos reevaluaran los grupos de chicas porque Scream era mas parecido a lo que sacaria un boy group que un girl group, la coreografia era complicada y ruda, casi sin movimientos femeninos, los outfits eran originales y casi no mostraban piel, sin contar que muchas veces eran del mismo color que los outfits de los bailarines de apoyo pero mostraban tanto carisma en el escenario que era facil difereciarlas.
Varios Koreanos las comenzaron a llamar como Beast Group o Monster Group, porque se diferenciaban casi por completo de lo que era un grupo de chicas y cuando presentaron Black or White los no fans quedaron impresionados por la versatilidad del carisma de Dreamcatcher.
Scream no fue solo una era, fue LA ERA, fue el momento en que la industria, Korea y los fans del Kpop al rededor del mundo supieron que Dreamcatcher era un grupo al cual se le debía tomar en serio.

Yep they definitely learned the choreography within a day, at least. Because they have to rush & learn the choreo next for their Japanese single, Endless Night (which has already been released & again a major banger). Jiu said that when they achieve things like these, she gets so proud of their team work & dedication. Because they really work as one.

These girls are just too talented.... Here's me wondering how they were ever going to top Deja Vu, but they've only gone and done it. This is so dark and edgy, the raps are so goddamn cool sounding, and the trance EDM sound mixed with rock elements is so unique for kpop. This is perfect. I see a lot of comments saying that the "EDM sound" appeals to more ppl and reaches a wider audience or whatever but i guess im part of the minority that finds"EDM loud chorus" not pleasant at all. I actually used to like EDM overall in Kpop but the past year its been SOO overused that it totally killed it for me. But when I listened to this song i was actually very surprised i loved it. And it think its cuz of the "rock vibe" or elements in it. It makes it different, differentiates it from the rest we been hearing all year long. ITS UNIQUE. DC is DC. They truly are a rare gem in this industry
CatarinaxRock honestly I see your point honestly, however I think for them this was their was to appeal to those who enjoy it because it’s catchy. Sort of a pathway to become more noticed, unfortunately in a horrible Industry like theirs you have to appeal to the bigger audience by participating in these trends.
Leaning towards rock and had similar feelings, after all started to listen to them bc of the rock concept, but happy that they experiment/practice in diff genres. Because this is not a mind numbing EDM sound. This is very closed to the outtro of Silent night and Stray kids' Side effects with the polyrhythms
And also this doesn't sound like EDM to me. Sure it has "EDM sounds" but to me those are just synths, and were used just like other instruments. The chorus part still have all other instruments playing and the synths as lead.

In my opinion I like how Dreamcatcher has had a slight build up of their fame. I think that the fact that with each comeback they get more fans is great. Imagine if they got a ton of hype and broke all of these records and then their fame disappeared?Slow and steady wins the race, with each comeback there's new fans and more hype, it's better to have a slow journey then a spike. However we need a first win asap I dont get why this song didn't get a first win. It's so good. This group deserves so much.
