This is my favorite video of the year. All I can think of is; how freakin' LIT this would be in concert. Imagine 60k ARMY's bobbin' their heads and singing Daechwita . I think ARMY could bring down the stadium! I'm really enjoying this trio of reactors!
He actually got a recognition not only as member of BTS, but also outside of BTS as solo artist and as a producer. He is literally right now the most successful male soloist from South Korea
This is not China. This is Korea. This music video is filmed in Korea. All of BTS's music videos are filmed in Korea except for On, Black Swan, and Chicken Noodle Soup. There are a few royal places in Seoul, the capatal city of Korea, and there are several traditional housing districts and traditional drama sets nationwide in Korea. This mudic video is shot in one of those places in Korea. Daechwita' is a genre of Korean traditional music consisting of royal military music played by wind and percussion instruments, generally performed while marching in parade. 'Daechwita' is usually played when a king goes out, when they return from a war with victory, or when a guard changing ceremony is held at a royal palace in Joseon Dynasty from 14th century through 19th century, the old Korea. All the references used in this MV is from Joseon Dynasty, the old Korea, from 14th century throughout 19th century. The architecture of a royal palace and market streets, traditional fashion style such as King's outfits and commoner's clothes in the market streets, traditional musical instruments, and the way Suga is beheaded by the executioner, etc., are all Korean traditional cultural references originated from Joseon Dynasty from 14th through 19th century. The traditional clothing, for example the King's clothing, in this mv is called Hanbok. If you see their music video IDOL, there is a scene where all of BTS members wear Hanbok.
Oh man Agust-d or Suga is not just a rapper, he's a multiple award winning producer. People in Korea call him musical genius / has the hand of midas. He's very inspiring. Suga is very good with words I love him and respect him so much. 💜
this guy is called as the " hand of midas" by the korean music industry. anything he produces for himself or other artist wins awards and sets records on his own.
@@ms.nicamagahis4889 yes both that is both of his sides.. Suga is real side as well but agust d is his raw version. That's what he meant by saying they both are same
They are of course the same, but there is a difference in those 2 in terms of music. Suga is known as BTS, they have a lot of eyes on them as a group, they need to have an image and stick to some things. But AgustD his feelings and thoughts, he just throws it away. He can swear and do whatever he wants. Agustd is not affiliated with BTS. Just a Raw version of Suga.
Daechwita (literally "great blowing and hitting") is a genre of Korean traditional music consisting of military music played by wind and percussion instruments, generally performed while marching. Instruments used include nabal (brass horn), nagak (seashell horn), and taepyeongso (shawm), with jing (gong), jabara (cymbals), and yonggo (hangul: 용고; hanja: 龍鼓; drum painted with dragon designs and played with mallets). From Wikipedia
Fun fact.. the scene where Suga was grabbing the keys. The 6 guys standing behind represents the other 6 members of BTS and the female holding the box represents ARMY.
Korean traditional military music, Daechwita (大吹打) Daechwita is a music that was used as an accompaniment when the king came or the army marched in the Joseon Dynasty.

Good reaction, thanks. You probably would like the "explained by a Korean" videos by dkdktv, especially for BTS songs. BTS always has multiple layers in their songs and videos.
It introduces them to Mic Drop and Not Today in addition to dance practice, especially Fake Love and Blood, Sweat and Tears. I also highly recommend: Stray Kids: Back Door, Miroh and God's Menu. EXO-Love Shot and Obsession PENTAGON-Basquiat,Shine,Dr.Bebe and Naughty Boy
To fully understand the MV and lyrics you are in for a treat if you react to 'AUGUST D -DAECHWITA Explained by a Korean' on the DKDKTV Channel. There is a ton of meaning and historical references in the lyrics. The meaning of the word HYUNTA is eye-brow raising! BTW Agust D is Suga spelt backwards, the T stands for Town and the D stands for Suga's home town, Daegu.
you are right about one thing it is about persona's..... yoongi said the KING/EMPEROR is the past self of him as the rapper the way he thought the aggressive rapper he was with words ... non-forgiving nature to it and all .... the OTHER one is the PRESENT him who have changed..... it's way of him killing the past self of aggressive side of his, in the end .... finding redemption .... and AGUSTD is his RAP NAME yoongi goes with 3 names his birth name his parents gave him MIN YOONGI his BTS, stage name Bangpd gave him SUGA and the rapper name which he releases his mixtapes with is AGUSTD
In case you don’t know this is different form of Kpop that is known as K-Hiphop/Rap his main speciality the only genre where he can fully express himself while staying humble as Suga of BTS. The meaning behind “Agust D” ~ It’s “Suga” spelled backwards and in reverse “D T” is short for ‘DISS Track’ but it also stands for Daegu Town which is his hometown and name of an old underground rap group that he was a part of as rapper “Gloss”. OMG MY BOY HAS COME and GONE LIKE A PRO AFTER PLACING ANTIs, HATERS and CRITICS in their place on top slaying his ARMY 👀🙀 with his hardcore swag, rapid rapping, beast mode beats & traditional tempo and visuals (PAST AGUST D vs PRESENT AGUST D) dont even get me started with the fashion. I was holding my breathe the whole time seeing him getting up from the throne walking into the palace ready to put someone in their place, bodies on the ground, 😹 Jin & Jungkook pretending to fight behind Suga, BTS members hiding in plain sight and brings a modern car into traditional korean dynasty while battling his innerself then goes into nasty slow flow rap like RM did in DDAENG. It came to the end I was literally on the edge of my seat when he was being taken what looked like he was going to get beheaded while AGUSTD is showing off his sword skills then Suga takes the gun shooting the dark side of himself like a boss 😎 I noticed he used some beats with allot of phrases that he did in their BTS comeback trailer interlude: SHADOW. When I saw the scar, I remembered how much he loves scarface and reminds me abit of scar from lion king with mortal kombat vibes. The BLACK FIGURES behind SUGA presents the fandom: ARMY, he’s basically saying goodbye to his past because he’s ready to move on to a new chapter of his life. *Daechwita is a korean form of marching music that old armies used as they marched into battle or kingly procession; his old & current self fighting for domination over his present life. During his first mixtape he makes many references on how SUGA (stage name) kills Min Yoongi which is his true identity. Now, Agust D the raw savage side kills off the king and SUGA sits down from royalty; if i’m not mistaken, last emperor of the country. The concept/theme is a traditional dynasty where the long hair is indication of wealth and Agust D shown dressed in authentic kingly garments, It was also strongly frowned upon or forbidden for anyone with scars could never be royalty but with this track & music video breaks that stereotype by having Agust D shown with a large visible vertical scar on his eye which expresses even people with scars can be royal on top of showing how powerful his presence is which reminds me of kdrama Scarlet Heart: Ryeo 4th prince where he had a scar but became king despite of it but I also remember how much Suga loves Scarface. IN SIMPLE TERMS HE IS BASICALLY FIGHTING TO TRY STAYING HUMBLE AS A TRUE GROWING ARTIST / RAPPER by confronting his past self. Almost everyone had that reaction and for anyone who doesn’t know or recoginze him, he’s Suga of BTS a globally famous male kpop group, this is his solo alter-ego which is a self-produced solo artist/rapper, if you haven’t seen his first one; Its 2016 ‘AGUSTD’ mixtape. *THE PHRASES “I born a tiger I ain’t no weak pill popper like you”, he was born to be true to his craft not stray from it 😝 ... “We so fly we so fly private jet we so fly”, he’s talking about his groupmates BTS on how swagged they are then you see him bump into Jin (In a beard? Lol) who turns for a second and jungkook accidentally walks into the fishing pole that Jin is holding & they pretend to fight ... “off with their heads”, he doesn’t mean literally cutting their heads off but more or less he’s cutting their heads off with his words. Hahahaha, you know he’s not Suga when he DISSing justin timberlake when he says “cry me a river you just got no skills”* KIDDNG #AGUSTD2 #Confrontation #Daechwita #BTS

regarding this ''non k-pop fan'' thing: That title is just as odd as if you made a reaction to Drake and titled it ''non CA-pop fans react''. K-pop simply means korean popular music, Agust D makes Hip Hop btw. In a sense Hip hop is of course pop, as in: Popular music. Agust D makes K-pop just as much as Eminem makes US-pop. Why is Eminem never labeled that way, yet Agust D all the time? If westerners insist on using that term to separate BTS from the rest of pop though they should use ''US-pop'' for Taylor Swift and Eminem and ''UK-pop'' for Adele. BTS btw made it clear again and again that they are not fond of that ''k-pop'' label and wish not to be named or treated any different as every other major pop act in this world.
