Dear Mabinogi, and dear Milletians, I am a new player. I have no past experience, other than a month of playing. Not really following efficiency guides, just discovering this beautiful world. It sometimes feels lonely, as I rarely find people around my level...But still, I have found peace, and an escape by playing this game. Maybe for many, it's not a grandma's storytelling time anymore. But to me, this game represents this feeling perfectly, even when I'm lonely in there, as when I'm in this World, I never feel truly alone. Thank you! I'd love to know the best way for my elf character to not die super fast- By that I mean: I seriously take a lot of damage, but also GIVE a lot of damage (High dex and chain might be why). So I can basically one-shot all the monstes in dungeons that don't casually one-shot me, making the whole thing feel pretty weird. Is it because I'm supposed to have a party, or is it just the chain that's broken ?
@@lamp9359 hello! Sorry youtube didn’t show me your comment till just now! I main an elf so I can answer your question! ARMOR!! Elves have less strength which equals into having less defense. Do you have light armor? Get that light armor tank up to r1! And get yourself mana shield and rank that up too. On top of that- cumulative levels factors into survivability. Your stats go up as it goes up.
@@lamp9359 contrary to what a lot of people seem to say elves can in fact wear some heavy armors. Like the Royal armor you get from the daily’s. However heavy armor will impact your dex.
@@lamp9359 chain blades are one of my favorite talents! I would recommend having chains, bow and magic for elf. Especially magic. Getting a good staff like the Celtic Druid and having a spirit on it will let you chain cast things like thunder which normally have to be charged. An elf in my guild says his best unknown scenario boss setup is thunder and spell walk. Potions are pretty important so pick those up and invest in potion making.
If Mabinogi still felt like I was involved in an old story from Grandma, in something that might turn into a story passed down from generation to generation, I might still be playing it. Because years later, this music still give me shivers, because of what the game once meant to me.
I remember back when White knight was top-tier pro, and when having R6 WM and smash was super pro. Having a green ego back then meant you were showered with all the women. All the hotglue guild raids in Mari server where they assaulted alby arena with dozens of players... absolute chaos. Man I miss what this game used to be pre-g12....
@@jonahd1396 I mean -- remember when to figure out what to do next in G1 you actually had to PAY ATTENTION TO THE STORY because you weren't led by the hand with a new "quest" for every little step? That's the philosophy I loved.

Ah man. That right there, that brings back some memories. A good chunk of the early part of last decade was spent in that fantasy life. Thanks for this, it really means a lot that a passionate team is keeping this dream alive still.
It bring me tears of joy listening to this. All the friends we met, all the adventures we went, all the stories, all the characters, all the BGMs. what happened in this world, it’s pure joy. I will never forget Mabinogi.
There's just something almost magical with this song. You can hate what mabi has become or you can love how much more player friendly it has become since the beta (doubt there are many who think that) but I don't think there can be anyone out there who hates this iconic piece of music. It allows us to remember the days when we had the most fun playing mabi and not just sitting around for event rewards. Nexon, if you read this, can you please bring back more interactive events like the caravan event or shoot the sun event instead of events that require people to sit around afk for hours at a time?
Or with event delivery items that you can’t drop or destroy and that are still taking up inventory space after the event ends until there is a maintanence **cough** magical wood **cough**
I'm currently playing mabinogi, started off in April 2020. Honestly, I like the way it is now. I'm not saying that it's good nor am I shilling the game, I'm just saying that I'm okay with the problems it has because the good things it does have are the things I've been looking for in MMORPGs for a long time now. I was so desperate to play it that since I was using mac, I did away with MacOS entirely and ended up sticking to windows until now. I'm not trying to encourage anyone to do that just to play Mabinogi because your choices are yours to make. I still have to say that it's a game that I'm going to be playing for years and the day I stop is going to be the day it shuts down.
@Eiki Shiki Yamaxanadu I'm not saying Mabi isn't still fun because I wouldn't still be playing it if it wasn't. Mabi, despite all its flaws is still a very fun game that is unique to the point that no other game I know of even comes close to being similar to Mabi. But Mabi definitely has lost some of the magic from before. There was a time where you could have a guild storm peaca normal for shits and giggles (also because peaca was ridiculously difficult back then and not the cakewalk it is today). In fact, if you search up "mabinogi brotherhood peaca" in youtube, you should be able to find the video of my old guild in Mari storming peaca. Nowadays Mabi feels like it's become significantly more solo (with a few exceptions like Kraken which still usually need a group but even then there are plenty of people who can solo Kraken) and the game has felt less interactive than it used to. That being said though, that might just be the nostalgia filter kicking in so who knows but as an old player, my personal opinion is that Mabi while still very fun feels different compared to the Mabi of old.

@@chito4154 Eh other than wrights and ghosts which are immune to magic, you can easily beat the rest of peaca with magic. Just r1 hailstorm and get a staff ego. You'll be hitting bicc numbers in no time. When I need to run Peaca (mainly for fynn capture skill training recently), I use magic for everything that isn't immune to magic and then fh the rest. Just get a final hit set and a mage set and you should be good for just about anything that isn't kraken or girg.
I played this game for 8 years until our old family computer(DDR2), which I overclocked and optimized for performance, could no longer load Tara Shadow World Missions. But even then I stayed making music scrolls and playing music in Dunby meeting friends new and old. I saw them all come and go, and up until the very end that I become the last to quit, I still listen to the Login Theme Piano version. Hearing it makes me feel like the excited small kid back in 2007 when I first found it. I miss my all of my friends and guildmates I have met during those 8 years.
This brings back so many memories. Sad, angry ones like the annoying ass campers, and how I was made fun off, but this also brings back good memories with my online friends. The good and bad are appreciated. Damn, this is beautiful. (thanks for making me cry...)

Mabinogi Mobile is shutting down soon... and it will be taken out of the app stores today... Hearing this song one last time really makes you want to cry...
Honestly if the devs go all out all or nothing and remake the game or make a sequel with improved graphics and smoother gameplay I'm sure it would be a huge success. No mmo I have ever played gives me the feeling Mabi did the constant shivers the music gives, the sense of adventure when discovering new things for the first time, the sense of fellowship when sitting around a fire with random players playing music there's nothing like it.

Ah I remember my days on the old European server. It was a right mess, bugs and issues around every corner but I still remember spending days and months and years with friends on there. It's a shame I've not found any of my old bunch, but finding new friends within the latest server merge is still great.
