Back in the late 60's, my Mum & I were driving from Lowestoft towards Gorleston along the A47. Just as we were nearing the Links Road roundabout, we observed an old man. He had long grey straggly hair, a filthy looking sack over his shoulder, walking along the side of the road (our side) and walking north towards the roundabout. He had very large boots on and his clothes were like rags.He seemed to glide rather than walk and was somewhat hunched over. Mum just said it was an old tramp, but this was no flesh & blood human. It was in the middle of a bright, sunny, summers day. The memory has stayed etched in my mind all these years. I was around 8 or 9 at the time.
Great Yarmouth is a very ancient place, it's best known as a seaside resort now, but if you look into it's past it's not surprising that it has an association with ghosts! Witchcraft, the plague etc!
as someone who lives near the acle straight i have not seen anything weird there and usually keep going at 60mph along it and only brake for the turn by the windmill, however during bad driving conditions such as ice and strong wind car accidents are quite common, but you can bypass it by going past caister
