Dharamsalas are cheap and safe place to stay . Jains dharamsalas are very equal to hotel and coast 500-1000 rupee, if you request (only for Jain ) you can sleep in Temple complex .

It is not India’s first pod hotel. It is Indian Railway’s first pod hotel.
Living in Mumbai CST, I can confirm that it's too expensive. You can book bigger, cheaper clean hotel rooms.
