This is very cute but not the right circumstances. The 'toddler challenge' is based on a classic childhood psychology experiment but slightly altered. The original experiment used marshmallows and was looking at delayed gratification. You tell the kid they can either eat this candy now or when you come back in a minute they can have twice the amount of candy. If they hold off it tends to correlate to better life outcomes (higher SAT scores, lower BMI ect).
The day you realise that as their Mum you are literarily God is scary and humbling. My two aged 4 n 5 were having an argument. For year old comes out with 'cos Mummy said so'. 5 year stared for a minute. Then said 'okay'. That was the end of the argument. I quaked in my shoes, listening from the kitchen. Adorable these two.

The setup of the challenge is that you leave a few smarties, and if they haven't touched they get a reward and get a bigger amount of smarties. To test if they know how to postpone immediate satisfaction with a view on a bigger reward if they can resist the immediate temptation. Here you just tested their obedience.

This is a test of the Childs obedience to parents (which is great!!) versus their ability to choose to forgo pleasure now for an increased amount of pleasure in the future (Delayed Gratification).

Her mother didn't direct the instruction to her little girl. She didn't say the girls name, she said the boys name.
The girl then, after being told by her mother that Corbyn/Corbin was more likely to break the rule, pushed his bowl away from him yet she didn't push her own bowl away from herself. The girl then mimicked her mother and told her brother to not eat till she comes back. He adhered to/listened to his mothers request then again to his sister repeating it. The girl moved her face closer to her bowl than the boy did and when the mother came back the little girl picked one up and put it in her mouth before her mother said she could!

I couldn’t imagine spending that many years pregnant, but I’ll bet it’s fun having so many siblings. My dad has an aunt and uncle that each lost their first spouse and married each other. They each had kids from their first marriage. Between the two of them, they had 30 kids in their blended family.
My brothers (identical twins) are 1 year and 10 days younger than I am. My mother gave birth to 3 kids in 375 days!🤯 Can you imagine? I don't know how my parents survived!
My brothers and I were very close siblings, growing up doing many things together. We all learned how to ride bikes at the same time, we all took swimming lessons together, etc.😃

This is very cute but not the right circumstances. The 'toddler challenge' is based on a classic childhood psychology experiment but slightly altered. The original experiment used marshmallows and was looking at delayed gratification. You tell the kid they can either eat this candy now or when you come back in a minute they can have twice the amount of candy. If they hold off it tends to correlate to better life outcomes (higher SAT scores, lower BMI ect).

The day you realise that as their Mum you are literarily God is scary and humbling. My two aged 4 n 5 were having an argument. For year old comes out with 'cos Mummy said so'. 5 year stared for a minute. Then said 'okay'. That was the end of the argument. I quaked in my shoes, listening from the kitchen. Adorable these two.
Good parents give birth then let them be who they are. Guide them in safety, but don't rule them like some kind of god. Let them be guided by their inner wisdom for happiness. So many parents let the power go to their heads and the kids are like puppets on a string with no idea who they really are. That's when problems start.

Why not ask a child 'oh would you like to be vaccinated?' before getting them their shots? Or 'oh do you think you could consider going to school?'. Kids come into the world as kids for a reason. They could maybe have dropped from the sky as adults but they don't.
If I did this with my twins. They're 4. Each will eat and try to finish what's left in the other sibling's plate...then followed by chasing and hair pulling culminating in rolling around on.the floor screaming till someone stops by to scold me
