At least 49 people were killed and dozens more injured in mass shootings at two mosques in Christchurch, New Zealand, Friday.
At least one gunman carried out what is now the deadliest shooting in New Zealand history.
"It's something that we never expected to have happen here," Christchurch MP Gerry Brownlee told "Good Morning America." "We're a relatively small population, and while we are ethnically quite diverse, we live very peaceable lives. And this, as many have seen, has shattered our innocence."

It’s been 2 years and I still remember this day. Me and my friends all huddled under the desks at school. Just after lunch we came back to class and people were talking about that something was happening in the city and my teacher was just about to to talk to us about it when the whole school went into lockdown. There were rumours spreading around the students that he was coming towards our school and that’s why we were in lockdown, it was scary. They brought around toast after awhile but there wasn’t even enough for half the school. People would go in big groups to the toilets with a teacher and had to crawl there and back. I remember hearing about the livestream and although it had already been taken down, there was people reuploading it to RUclips so I watched it out of curiosity, it was so scary seeing this man kill innocent people like it was all a game. It was like watching a livestream of a video game, he was even talking about it like it was a game but they were real people he was killing. The lockdown didn’t end until 6pm and our anxious parents were all waiting outside the school waiting to take us home.

In his manifesto he uses all the talking points from both sides and condemns both. But knowing the media they latch onto one aspect and run with it without any regard to the context of the whole thing, it's already working, what he wanted is playing out. We live in a crazy time where someone can livestream themselves committing a mass murder, that is insane.
