There’s plenty they can pickup. Now that I’m thinking of it, I used to cleanup that exact beach to the north of the inlet, the Boca Beach Club. All F&B servers kept it clean back in the day. I had to call the Pelican Grand a few years ago to get them to require their beach attendants to clean up, they refused saying their forks, etc are biodegradable. Anyway, I was only going to post that I often cleanup a small beach along an inlet south of Boca. There’s so mush trash that washes ashore. I pickup 30lbs each time. All plastic. It’s devastating to watch this video.

The original footage was caught by someone that films for a boating channel called Wavy Boats. The complete video is revealing because the teens very obviously saw they had been caught on camera and gloated in front of the drone, brazenly and tastelessly flexing and prancing to the camera. IOW, they acted like entitled rich kids that know mom and dad will put their money and rep at work to get them a nice breezy slap on the wrist and community service would be a huge joke to them proving they are indeed privileged, cannot be held to the same rules, and above the "normal" hard working people. It is especially bad since that part of Florida is gorgeous and relies on preserving that place to uphold the quality of life for residents but also attracting people to support the local economy. They did it for a specific reason - to get rid of all the evidence of their underage drinking. The oldest person on that boat was 16...

They should be sent to prison for 5 years, it is necessary to send a strong message to others who try to do the same, parents should also pay jail time for the poor education and upbringing of their children.

If your driving in a car with some friends and a couple kids throw garbage out of the car do you think you should be charged?
No, people who do crimes should be charged and people who are bystanders shouldn't.
This is America, guilt by association isn't a crime.

They should have the boat impounded... and the captain should face charges... What happens on the boat... is always the Captains fault...

No charges for underage drinking or DUI? Mostly minors…dumping booze cans. They’ve definitely been drinking.

Their parents need to be held accountable for their part in not raising their children properly and for not teaching them right from wrong. Our oceans need to be protected at all costs. Who knows what animal is going to smell this and eat it? 🙈🤬

“Teachable moment” means “go easy on them” despite how egregious this is. What they’ll learn is that having money gets you out of anything.

Hard to believe people can afford a boat like that, but chisel out on their trash removal bill by polluting the ocean. Wouldn't it be something if the "teachable moment" was the same consequences that would happen to people without affluence?

Daddy will pay a fine and they will do community service. After about two days of service, Daddy will pay off the service and it will be business as usual.
