Cool shots! Are you based in Dubai or you were flying as a tourist? I'm hoping to bring my drone in to fly too but I've read so many fears and concerns about flying as a tourist in the country. Seems like the latest news is that tourists are not even allowed to fly? Hope you can share how you did it!
Sean Abrams Can’t fly in or close to the city for sure and you will need a drone license and permit (depending on location) to fly in any air space. This video was shot along time ago before the regulations came through. Not a lot of none classified airspace anymore unfortunately, small patches in the Deseret here and there. Sorry I didn’t have better news.
Hey Adil, thanks for your comment :D This footage was taken at the dunes next to Al Qudra Lakes in Dubai. You can google that location. While there, just make sure to check flight paths and limit your altitude to 130M.
Thanks for the info! I'll look out for the location near Al Qudra Lakes next time I'm around the area. Really like your other aerial videos around UAE, cool stuff.. Have you done any flying around Abu Dhabi?
Anytime, no not yet :D I avoid flying next to any populated areas, doing the desert and off road locations now. The laws for drones as of now are that you should stay 50m away from any populated area and do a max of 135M so its just easier to do off road locations :D
Hi! Was any problem with the DJI drone at the airport? I travel to Dubai in April. I like to use my DJI Phantom 3 in the desert, is it possible without any permission?
+CineTimes Hi! I am not sure to be honest with you, the rules are still not very clear. There are two views now, hobbyists can fly away from any city, streets or populated areas and that should be fine, the confusion is around a law that bans drones with camera that made the news recently. So I am not sure. I haven't travelled with my drone because of the same till date. Long story short, it will depend on your luck and airport customs guys! Sorry that wasn't much help. Google "Drone use in Dubai" and you will see the confusion I am talking about.
Would there be any chance of you giving me permission to use a couple shots from this in a non-profit film I'm working on? The film is based on the Legend of Zelda video game series (you can check out more of it on our youtube channel) and it was paid for completely out of pocket. You would get full credit for any shots used. If we could exchange via dropbox or another online drive that would be best, if not no worries!
Now when I say non-profit, that means, it's a passion project and isn't making or receiving any cash. It was paid for out of pocket by myself. It's just a fan film by a big fan of this franchise. I don't think that would still be considered commercial, please let me know it that changes anything. Thanks!
Thanks for showing the lakes in the Dubai desert.

Hi, sorry can't use videos for any commercial project. Even though its a non-profit it would still fall under this category.

Really wish I could help, but drone footage usage in UAE are very strict thus would still fall under that category.
