An 'attitude of gratitude' - It's not I "have" to do this task, but I am "Blessed to be able to do this task". Thank you God!

Yes, gratitude! I deeply resonate with your family story, Diana - my dad worked long hours, and my mom worked two part time jobs as a medical secretary, since I was very little. My mom contracted TB when I was 3, had a year in the hospital, and then we lived with her brother and sister-in-law for another year while she got her energy back from having half her lung removed. So when she got home from work at the end of the day, she was beat. We had TV dinners, no fancy things. Medical bills and the basic expenses of life took all their resources. When I was in high school I was too embarrassed about our simple, old furniture and modest rental apartment to invite friends over, but also I didn't want to burden my mother with the extra work of hospitality, since she was always so tired at the end of the day. When I was baptized as an adult, I was welcomed into a community of people who showed me that hospitality had nothing to do with how fancy your home is, but how genuine your love and intentional caring for others is. True friends will accept you just the way you are. Yes, gratitude that we have floors to wash, a clean and safe bed, food on the table. And true friends are not disposable.

Stewarding what God has blessed us with, absolutely. Some weeks, it's only the bathrooms that do get cleaned😅. We live simply, but family and guests are loved on, fed, and prayed over. They always return😊. Thank you so much for this message. Just share what you have, mostly love!

On spot as usual, Diana😊! Brought back alot of memories about my family and who we are today. I belonged to a bunco group. I would never volunteer my home for game night. For all the reasons you listed....one day several of the girls said Sue, your home is fine! Noone is caring about the stuff. It is about the laughter and friendship. Several brought food to share that night. True friends and family don't care! They love you for u!

And now I fallen in love with you @DianaKokku as you help me renew my spiritual life loving Jesus. I’m older and been thru so many experiences affecting all areas of my life. I did try to sign up for your group on May 29th, but there was a glitch on my phone. I thought I’d remember when I got home to my computer, but alas my busy life got in my way until June 2nd. ☹️ Please let us all know when the group is open again to join! I’ve become a member of a new church where there is a lot of love, and I want to build my knowledge to grow closer to Him! ❤

We clean our Beautiful White Throne multiple times a day. We are blessed to have a bathroom (only one). I enjoy a clean, fresh one when I need to go. So if we poop, we need to spray and clean it so it stays clean for whoever needs it next. By cleansing it stays after we use it the smell don't linger.
I recently got rid of our only coach. We replacing it with a Refrigerator, a small bookcase. Our living room is quite small so we just use it as a mudroom at the moment. If we need to entertain, we have a bench and table right outside our apartment. Guests can enjoy our cram, but Beautiful Garden❣️

Love being encouraged to break down the hurdles we have to being hospitable. It is never about perfection but always about the heart and making people feel at home and part of your table. Highly recommend a book called The Turquoise Table for more encouragement on this. Thanks for all the energy you give to your content Diana, you and Dawn are some of my most fav weekly content to visit with and the mix of faith, encouragement and real life is such a blessing. Shine that light 🙏🕊️

On the topic of hospitality, I’d love some input from parents. A couple weeks ago, a stray cat in my yard attracted 2 kids into my yard. I noticed them and went out to talk with them. Now they come to hang out multiple times a day and have started bringing their friends. These kids now ring my doorbell daily multiple times. I love it. I wasn’t able to have kids of my own and feel like it’s a lovely gift from God. My husband and I use the time with them to speak life into them & pray for them. We have started to play board canes with them on the front porch. I want to do more for them (snacks, etc.) but I don’t want to step over any lines. Any suggestions? Dos or don’ts? (We don’t let them inside.) I’m open to ideas.

Unfortunately we live in a very litigious world these days, please make sure their parents know they are coming to your house even if they stay outside and don’t enter your home, if they were to get hurt on your property you would be the one held responsible. Sorry to sound so negative but just protect yourself.

@@SassySue67we have met most of the parents and exchanged numbers. I still have a couple yet that I don’t know where the kid lives (I feel uncomfortable asking but maybe I need to get past it). It amazes me, the kids are all 7 & 8 and live 3-4 streets away.

I needed to see your video today. Past three weeks have been a very bad struggle, we had a friend who lost his home in a tornado and will say it gave me a new outlook on how blessed we are. I do have one question though. We allowed my husband's family to move in few years ago after they lost their home. One is now in prison and has been approved for parole but because he has no address he can't get out. We had to ask his GF to leave our home after she lived here years not helping with cleaning or even helping with any bills. I hated to do that, but we were finically going under. We are good people kind and caring, but is it wrong of me to now be hesitant to say yes to allowing him back in my home? I worry about our safety around him because he can be volant. But is it wrong of me to judge him for what he has done and not allow him in my home?

Oh and when cleaning or doing laundry I love praying for my family. It changed my perspective. Please don’t think my home is perfect. Minimizing our home helps so much!!!
