Geniuses do not commit blunders, Napoleon committed four of the worst. He dallied uselessly in Spain, he never built and manned a competent and powerful navy, he chose to waste what navy he did have in the battle of the Nile, and he invaded Russia, that was the topper, he lost half a million of the best soldiers in the world thinking himself a genius, but hubris took him down. His final blunder was Waterloo, he went on the offensive when he should have chosen defense.

You make some excellent points! Napoleon's overconfidence really did lead to some monumental mistakes. It's fascinating to analyze how his decisions shaped history.

Napoleon had no reason to build a powerful navy after 2 major losses from the battle of the Nile and Trafalgar there was no hope for winning against the British. The British were also more efficient and had way more competent commanders.
Napoleon did not waste a navy in the battle of the Nile. Instead, it was due to bad planning and just Nelson as always being the best commander and having better tactics. I also think personally that the French navy had a slightly more advantage than the British. It was just due to that the French Naval commander had never expected the British to flank them from the shore due to it was not a good strategy. But, since all of the French ships as in built for defense were tied with cables, so they can stand their ground. But British commander that was leading the lead ship had noticed there was a small gap between the shore and French navy which then they flank French ships with the leading fleet and then Nelson on the other side. This led to the defeat of the French at the Battle of the Nile resulting in 13 Ship of the lines to be destroyed.
Invading Russia I see personally was not a mistake. If he had just planned it correctly and had not done some bad decisions, I think it could have worked.
He had to do an offensive. Trying to defend would be a horrible decision and would have not worked. His best plan would have to be an offensive which he did but planned it correctly but didn't work due to some orders that had happened that screwed the campaign over.
I would write more about the details like evidence and the reason why it would work but I am limited on time.
