    Did you already know about this game and its racing DLC or was this the first time it was brought to your attention? Feel free to leave a comment with your thoughts about Starlink if you already own the game. Thank you for watching!

      I bought my son a starlink ship for £2 because he was asking to have it because he likes spaceships. I had no idea it was from a game

    2:53 Nintendo knew what they were doing and I like it

      They sure did :) It's a really cool cameo but unfortunately I think that Starfox kind of "stole the show" a bit. The rest of the cast is really interesting too and have great back stories. However, I personally long for a new Starfox game so I'll take anything I can get!

    Very clever. Nice to see some innovation and experimentation still happening.

      Yes, the concept is truly unique. Sadly, Starlink was released during the end of the toys to life bubble so it never really got the attention it deserved.

    First I've ever heard of this - I'll pick it up!

      Awesome! Glad to have brought the game to your attention :) It’s remarkable how much this game flew under the radar for many players.

    The gameplay footage reminds me of Fatal Inertia EX (2008) which is still available on PSN from a PS3 (even as a demo; the price of the inferior physical XBox 360 version has gotten insane).

      Cool, I had no idea the game was still available in digital form on PS3, thanks for the info! I am however fortunate enough to have had the 360 version of the game sent to me from a viewer. Video about the game is of course in the making.

      @@AGRacingCentral I happened to snag it from a bargain bin years ago. The controls and physics can only be described as frustrating. According to Gamer Alex the PS3 EX version addresses most of the issues (I have yet to try it).
      Off topic: Have you ever tried Quantum Redshift (2002)? It's an Xbox release (works also on Xbox 360) and was developed by ex-Psygnosis staff which introduced me to AG racing.
      I only became aware of Wipeout later via Pure/Fury on a PSP-2000.

    Awesome Erik, I had no clue about this one. The question is: how much non-racing do you have to go through before you access the racing part? I don't like adventure games and it will be a drag for me in any case.
    Also, it baffles me that they don't just release it as its own separate game, considering all the effort that must have been put in it.

      I'd like to answer, if I may.
      Last I remember, first you'll have to deal with the first planet, completing some basic objectives, of course. Once you do get to leave the planet, then you can head to the Crimson Moon freely. I think it's about 30-40 minutes. I could be wrong.

      @@CR-Nova Thanks!

      Glad to have brought the game to your attention! It definitely flew a bit under the radar. The ag racing part is not really substantial enough to be its own game but it does remain a fun side activity. I’m also pretty sure CR-Nova is right regarding when you can access the Crimson Moon.

      Thanks for answering the question, I’m pretty sure you’re right. As soon as you can leave the atmosphere of the first planet and have access to the world map, you should be able to fly anywhere you want.

    Interesting concept, I could see some people getting very into this, collectors perhaps?

    • @AGRacingCentral
      @AGRacingCentral  6 месяцев назад

      Yes, Starlink is definitely a thing for collectors :) Luckily, neither of the toys for the game ever got all that expensive but it didn’t sell very well so some ships are relatively rare.

    I actually own this game on PS4 since I bought it new and sealed for like 12$ years ago.
    Tried a little and I liked but in the end I put it in my big and shameful pile of backlogs (😂) maybe someday I shall play it fully.
    Still I would have prefered the Switch version for the Arwing toy since it looked cool for display but it looks like it was the most popular version in my country since it is impossible to find it unlike the PS4 and XB1 version that I saw it everywhere and no one wanted it. 😂

    • @AGRacingCentral
      @AGRacingCentral  6 месяцев назад +1

      You’re right, if I remember correctly, the Switch version accounted for more than half of the games total sales. The game suffers a bit from repetitive side activities but it remains a solid experience. Then again, my backlog is probably just as big as yours :)

    • @AGRacingCentral

      To be honest, it is a bit repetitive. Starlink is however relatively unique and quite impressive from a technical standpoint. You can seamlessly transition from the orbit to the surface of any planet without loading times for example.
