Wow! It feels surreal seeing myself in your video. Thanks so much for taking the time to train and just hang out with me, Matt. Something I’ve just been realizing as I reflect on our meet up is just how much you actually care about me and my development. Looking back and seeing how much effort you put into making sure I was on the right track - from the diet plan, to the workout regime, to just encouraging me on my journey - I’m beyond grateful and honored to have been chosen to be a part of the Elite Challenge and a part of your life. To all of Matt’s viewers: Just by watching his videos, you may or may not understand how much he desires to help others. That selfless nature is a rarity in our society, and I think it’d be a shame not to capitalize on the lessons and ideas he models and teaches. He is just as authentic on camera as he is in real life. Work hard and dream big everyone - nothing is impossible.
I can relate to your story brother. Although my side different from yours, I am also currently at a gap year and having to start from square one again. But I am keeping my head up and putting I n the work to do even better than I have done before. Keep doing big things my man 👍
I just have to say, screw the views Matt, this content is worth gold to aspiring soccer players. It shows a driven and disciplined mindset that is required if at all the plan is to go pro. I was almost completely oblivious to how much work most people put in, but now, I'm left in awe at the stuff you do. I'll try and take my game to the next level. Thanks.
After school me and my friends play football we've been doing this for a good 4 years together since grade 3. Also individual trainings and Matt I can't thank you enough.
When your doing the varied gate drill u should change the formation of the cones every 5/6 times that way u won’t be able to memorize it and u will be forced to get ur head up
When you gave that advice to that kid about playing on the wing was good. I also think that he should watch a ton of videos that show players play that position as he might learn better by watching first than just doing.
Yo man , big ups for the mentorship thing you doing , it's incredible that you giving so much attention to the young man , he seems like he will be very successful, great work and massive respect
I remember you bro! Thanks for the support, it means a lot. Hopefully one day I can be as inspirational as Matt and help others through not just soccer, but also just through life in general. Thanks!
I dont need it? i do need it Matt, you help us for like nothing, i hope you get signed to really good team soon and keep grinding.... Lots of love to you and MIMIIIII!
Hey Matt, as I can See you train really often during pre season. Further you do a lot of lifting and strengthening training. However the most important thing in soccer is to be fit and prepared on match day. So my question is where is the difference between your pre season and your during season trainings schedule? Do you also train twice a day during season?
Strengthen your neck muscles will get your headers stronger. Also tell someone to through the ball a bit above your head and pass it Bach directly on his chest. That will improve you accuersy a lot and it will also be more realistic like a game sutuation
Grinding everyday is cool and all but I recommend more scrimmages if you can. There is no better teach than the game itself. Also I often progress the most, after I take a little break from soccer. You must look at your brain as a muscle that needs recuperation after long sessions of soccer. I hope that makes sense:D
If there was a single player training tournament, you’d win it for sure。 dude you need to play football with others. Go and play with amateurs if no professional football is available at the moment, your skills are good, physique is great, your touch is not bad. Now you need to improve your dribbling, vision, comfort on the ball, decision making, a lots of other stuff which can only be improved by playing with others on almost daily basis. Brazilian style. Good luck.
Anas Mahboob what? I’m saying that there’s no point in giving him that “advice” because he’s already talked about what your “advice” was in videos. He’s experienced and knows what’s good for him. And you’re saying it like it’s easy to grab a pro player anywhere and have them train with him. With the other pro players he’s had training with him it’s not like it was easy to plan to have them
Hey Matt, im a CM and i feel like i struggle playing off 1-3 touches and knowing where my next pass is, also my awareness, what could i do to improve on this? Love what you do been watching since you were in Germany looking for semi pro teams. Keep up the work
Hey Hassino, I know I'm not Matt but Matt's helped me a lot individually through the Elite Challenge and I also play center mid. I think one big thing to keep in mind while you're playing is to get your head up BEFORE you receive the ball - know what your options are. Then, make sure you focus on your first touch so that you can take a touch into space and release quicker in the transition through the middle. Hope that helps!
@@rayecheng22 Thanks bro, will make sure to keep that in mind. Im currently 18 and im in and out of a decent level semi-pro team and also playing for an u23 team which im also in and out of the squad and hoping i can prove to them im good enough to play a higher level.
Matt I have a question. Do you have a "good night routine"? What I mean is to get up early you need to go sleep early, how do you avoid staying up late, overeating late.
salam bro How are you hope you will be fine and happy in your life i watch video and very motive and I feel in really im with you in this practice section best of luck dear
Matt, I also have a question. I've been struggling with endurance and stamina and I wonder whether it improves with football training/my weight training or whether I have to do a separate cardio session to improve on it
Timothy David hey, I’m not Matt but he’s worked individually with me. Endurance and stamina has to be built on it’s own - just playing/training will help a bit, but only through actually focusing on it will you really see improvements.
so sad he can't make meetups here in Namibia ,africa.hope one of your next vacation will be here in Africa.i am good but I need advice on what to know about becoming a top pro
Matt you truly inspire me to want to play at the highest level possible, I’m currently playing for Cardiff City development academy in Wales. Is there any advice you could give me as I’m soon going to have to decide weather I play semi pro or maybe pro soccer or continue with my education and go to college and university. Love your videos bro.
Great video Matt! That's how we feel sometimes when we wake up 😂😂! I'm from Brazil and you know a company named Axsoccertours? In their page they say that they realize trials in USA for clubs around Europe in Denmark, Sweden, Norway, etc. What do you know about these countries? It is good to start a career? Can you live with the money you get in the beginning/first contract? Thank you so much and I love your videos, keep going...
For anyone who sees this... what exercise would y’all recommend to gain some leg strength ? Ive tried doing squats but i just get really bad lower back pain the next day.
If you have pain while doing squats, make sure you're using the right technique. Matt has a lot of videos with him squatting, you could take a video of yourself and compare it to his form. Other than that, I think plyometrics are also very useful in gaining leg strength and explosiveness, especially for soccer. Hope that was helpful!
Exactly what Dimitris said. Limit your touches and you'll have to look up for a pass. I also suggest trying to get your head up BEFORE you even receive the ball - just keep a mental note of that while you practice/play and just look up more.
Hey Matt your videos are a great help Developing In India as A Football Player is tough. You help out a lot Can please make a video or atleast advice on the Pros And Cons of hiring an agent And in what period must we hire him
Work on your fitness like the other guy said but also make sure you're not running too much in your match ( making unesscarry runs and trying too hard and tiring out quickly) you have to know how to manage your stamina in a match
As Matt said in one of his recent posts, "It's the will to prepare to win that matters." Stamina and endurance is only developed during training. Matt has a lot of resources for cardio programs that you could look into, but the general rule is to just keep running and pushing yourself.
Matt? How can I improve in my blind spot? And there's times were there's 2 attackers and I'm in my right back position and I can't choose between to defend the one on the side line or the other one
Super DuperAbel I usually play RB as well. I think it depends on where the ball is, where the players are running, and where your other defenders are. If your CB is covering the runner in the middle then you should naturally press out wide.
I have a question How do you practice being a center back alone_?? Cause people sometimes can’t train with me I’m really trying to become a pro And honestly I’m willing to do everything
Hey Matt I play outside back like you and my biggest issue is quick decision making. I will recieve the ball wide my first touch is usually pretty tight but from there I have trouble deciding whether to take space take on the attacker play to the middle or down the wing. What could I do to help with quicker / better decision making.

Where Do you play now?
The days that you don’t feel like doing your workouts or training sessions that’s the day that you need to do it
Not every day is going to be the best day. Still have to get up and do what's necessary 💪🏻
You could be a great coach for youth teams
Dead Bird I’ll definitely be getting into youth development once my career is over.

Practice headers in training.
Strengthen your neck muscles will get your headers stronger. Also tell someone to through the ball a bit above your head and pass it Bach directly on his chest. That will improve you accuersy a lot and it will also be more realistic like a game sutuation
