I really love user-submitted stories but I *love* the fact that you include so much true crime, too. It's a good break from user-submitted stories and also something that we know is entirely factual. I just love learning stuff like that since it's a low-key special interest of mine, so I'm always pretty hype when yu cover stories like that.
Fun fact: It's kind of a stereotype in Japan that "foreigners like bread for breakfast" so the fact that the author from West Virginia was so taken aback by the "lucky guess" is kinda hilarious.
For anyone who's confused by the second story why the Yakuza backed off as soon as the Australian guy intervened, The reason why is because the whole Yakuza business thrives on tourism, which in turn they want to stay on good terms with foreigners and not mess with them. Otherwise if they did, it would put their position in the Yakuza and even their lives on the chopping block.
The Aussie guy is right whether or not the guys were Yakuza. In metropolitan Japan areas, people are cold and disinterested. No one would help a crying lost kid on a dark street, for example. They know it themselves.
I looked up the pics for the first story, crazy how there is so much fanart of her, people are crazy to romanticise her behaviour just because they thought she looked cute
tho on a side note Im happy that the guy (Phoenix Luna) is alive and well tho he still works as a host but what the girl did to him really messed up his system tho
To think to actually have been there and lived to see the effects of the Hiroshima bombing, my heart breaks. I remember reading the book Hiroshima in high school and picturing those scenes in my mind. So sad and terrible.
Your stories are amazing- always filling the quiet times- if possible do more pizza delivery stories or college dorm stories!! Love when they’re relatable to my life!! Makes it even more scary hehe thanks LR. You’re the BEST.
I’ve started listening to your stories every night to go to sleep. 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 I’m so grateful to find these stories in a soothing voice without loud ads at the end that jar me awake and make it impossible to fall back asleep for hours. 😂
Yes made me feel a bit sick and extremely heartbroken to think we as humans had done this to other people and to think it is a possibility of happening again.
Well, The American Government is the Grand Whore. And it's called like that for a reason. At the turn of the century. They caused 9/11. Don't forget that.
I happened to live a block from that house in Setagaya when Miyazawa family was murdered I was working at the convenient store near that department store where murderer bought the knife.😬 I was like 15... it was my first job... i'll never forget.. i remembered our neighborhood was dark and somber for a while and it's a nice neighborhood. Celebrities live there.
its a sick case and i don"t understand how that could happen in japan, which violent homecide crimes are very low. the case is so bizare because it makes no sense when the suspect had south european and asian origins, so he was definitely not a japanesse citizen. wtf was his motives. if he was on vaction then why murder a whole family. i think that the killer is either korean or from some other asian country. question is did either the mother know the suspect.
The host nearly killed by a lady host manager, and the WWII story with the kamikaze pregnant woman and the Japanese forces ambush, were my favorites in this set. But I love scary stories to do with Japan, period. One of my favorite subjects to hear about.
I’ve heard that last story before, bruh, and I’m sorry to tell you that someone plagiarized an old creepypasta and passed it off as their own true personal experience.
Gina Powell I’m actually listening to it as we speak since I was interested in seeing how closely the story matches the creepypasta. It’s “Ability” and the narrator I’m listening to is CreepsMcPasta.
This is great one of the best. When they taught history in school I was lucky enough to learn about Japan WW2 from my dad's Dad!! Shutter sounds great.
EVERYONE should have to listen to the story of Jack and Hiroshima. So many people just like to dismiss the absolute horror of atomic warfare. The descriptions are a good start at understanding. I certainly got a clear picture that left me sobbing. Humans are so good at destruction. :(
My Japanese horror story was when I decided to visit “Yokai Street” in Kyoto. It was creepy because I was the only tourist visiting and the street was pretty much empty. Also, there was a skeleton looking out one of the windows. Pretty sure it was a medical skeleton, but still very creepy.
I Used to have such bad insomnia and crappy nights. But your videos helped so much!! Your videos calm me, so i can fall asleep 5 Nights a week without problem 💖💖💖💖💖💖
Bro no joke I can't remember a time without falling asleep/just listening to the story's you read.. huge thank you because you have no idea how much you've helped me
The murder case makes me so sad and angry the thought of not only someone murdering an entire family but being so ok with it....it just sickens me I rather be murdered than murder someone.
I just looked up the first one and I can’t belive that people are saying she’s “too beautiful to attempt murder” wtf? Like actually wtf. I’m happy he’s recovered but damn that’s traumatic.
Yeah, I feel like there is a strange tendency to forget how many killers were actually conventionally attractive and superficially charming. They exist everywhere, all throughout time. Like Bundy, and Yuka. There is no set “look” or “personality” for monsters. The come in every shape, size, and flavor so to speak. I think it’s important for people to remember that, because you never know when letting your guard down or trusting someone too fast based on superficial reasons can be a life or death mistake. (To be clear, I am not placing any blame on those who do become victims of such monsters, merely stating the forewarned is forearmed, and not forgetting such things could be the difference between being someone who rejected a ride from someone who turned out to be an active killer and being another victim.)
For the first story, I am not saying it's right what she did but I understand why. Honestly, she should have understood that even though it was Luna's job to flirt with other woman, those were only empty words since he had a girlfriend. Yuka should have at least understood that.
I had to fast forward through that second one. Hearing him continually use the word "bloke" and "bloody" with an American accent was just too much to endure.
If we’re going to do this, let’s do it right. The effects of the atomic bombing continued in the bodies of those exposed to the radiation. Several forma of cancer manifested after years and decades after exposure. Smaller latency periods coinciding with larger doses of radiation, but doctors eventually caught on to the fact that they were seeing more malignant tumors in folk that had been near but not immediately affected by the bombing. It’s like curse that keeps on taking.
The atomic bomb story was so surreal to listen to. Rarely do we get to hear japans view of the event. I pray we never have to see such destructive weapons used ever again
It’s wild to me that a murder case that is a veritable treasure trove of all manner of evidence (pardon my crude phrasing) could remain unsolved for so long. It boggles the mind, really.
This is a party mix consisting of a truly scary real-life war story, a truly scary real-life crime story, a truly scary if-true war anecdote, and a merely creepy creative writing story.
