Man, love you content, subject and reaction choices, and perspectives. Will be visiting next month (November 2024) to scope out a few potential areas to move to. Your videos have helped immensely with the decision. Appreciate you. Keep up the good work; I'll be spreading the word about your channel for sure.
I moved to Thailand 15 years ago, at age 50. l left a stressful managerial job in the UK that was getting me down, and the long dismal winters didn't help. Thailand was a tonic for me, and I've never looked back. I love the food and weather and being able to dine alfresco. I live in a non tourist where most people don't speak English. But I get by with a basic level of Thai language, and my wife speaks very good English if I need a translator. The Thai people in our community are very warm and friendly, and it's totally safe and stress free.
I moved to Thailand six years ago I think that Living in the west you just exist whereas here you wake up every day feeling great to be alive (I know I do ) . As long as you have a modicum of self discipline Your life here will be as good as it will ever get.. Please keep the excellent videos coming you have panache..
His advice is on point for the most part, and it doesn't really match with the title, which is just click bait like so many others. He could have quite easily have called it 'my advice for people thinking about living in Thailand" but he went for the click bait option instead.
Total agree. I live here and unless you have a structure you are lost. Everyday is a Saturday your not living the week for the weekend. Learn the language adds to the structure
The expat is too old for learning Thai efficiently but they want to blend in as a locals too but they can't untill they can speak Thai so they left. So for youth foreigners who plan to live here I suggest for you to learning Thai as soon as you can. If you're youth enough you can learn it in Thailand university with visa and may found a new friend which could be a local Thai and they can teach you culture and you can become real Thai. Not many countries treat you like a local if you can speak their language like in Thailand.
@nightclawer6679 I disagree, you can learn a language faster as an adult than you can as a kid. I started learning Vietnamese 4 years ago and i can speak it many times better than my 6 year old daughter can speak Thai and that's her first language. I'm almost 50
@@nightclawer6679 Nah mate, you're talking about unconsciously learning, passive learning and that would be true. But if you're an adult you can out-study a kid on a second language. If what you're saying is true then EVERY person in Thailand would speak English from the min 9 years of English study....but they can't.
You are quoting Bangkok prices mate!i live in udon thani (Essan) my rent is 100 quid a month utility bills 25 quid a month food (eat out every meal)60 quid a month! But you do need to speak thai !i haven't met anyone in about 6months who speaks English.😂
@@dan-bz7dz no mate proper meals i can get a pad thai cooked by a Thai grandma (who everyone agrees cooks the best pad thai around here) for 80p i can get a BBQ steak salad and chips for 1.20 .
Besides True Digital Park what are your favorite co-working places? Are there any else other places nearly as spacious and have an many resources like TDP?
You've lived here for 3 years but never need to speak Thai? For me that's bizarre, you live in a bubble for sure, you don't have any Thai Friends like real friends you could tell me their full name? You have a phone for shopping why you need to speak Thai? lol That really how you wanna live bro? Isolated in a bubble and need your phone for everything? Seems a very safe and boring existence. Do you really want to get to 40 and speak only English?
Thailand magnifies who and what you are.
Elaborate
@@Northpause its self explanatory.
@@Hammerphone44 I've lived in Thailand for 13months and your right! Before I came i was a bit of a D##k but now i am a absolute D##k head 😘

So assuming you eat 3 times a day. You spend less than $1 a meal? What are you eating? Rice?
