I met Robert back in the early 2000s at a small venue in Salt Lake City after the show He took the time to talk to me for at least 20 minutes I could not believe that someone that famous would take the time to talk that long to one of their fans What a nice genuine person 🤘
I met Robert as well a few years back after a show at the House of Blues. He was walking by and obviously in a hurry. But he stopped and gave me the chance to tell my story on how he inspired me to play drums. He was super humble and taken with my story, so he just gave me a big hug and thanked me. It was one of my greatest moments. Hell of a guy and phenomenal drummer.
I have been the Prez of the Stryper FC PHILLY Chapter since 1988...fan longer, it is COMICAL how my boys are Discriminated against. Get this ...just because they can write the best ballads does not mean they are not HEAVY!!!! Robert has always played double bass drums...here take the test. Go watch STRYPER 1984 DOWNEY, CA then Japan 85 now go listen to THE REIGN...now Yaweh....my boys have always been rooted in POWER METAL....STRYPER RULES....ALWAYS HAVE, ALWAYS WILL
It's crazy how major artists are so intimidated by Stryper. Like Michael said, all the bands they came up with have opened for major artists, but mention Stryper, and everybody says, "woah, not that Christian band" ...I would say in the top 3 of bands from the 80's still out there and putting out great albums to this day! And live they are HEAVY and LOUD!!! Mad mad respect for Stryper !!!
Broke down barriers because of an excellent front man, amazing talent, and tight vocals. In my opinion, one of the best live bands to see - they are extremely genuine on stage
This is great. It is so good to see Stryper still kicking and screaming after 40 years in the metal scene. They sound better now than they did back in the 80s even though I like their 80's stuff. Long Live Stryper! Stryperizing the World one riff at a time!
June 7th can't come soon enough for their Return Performance in New Hampshire at Tupelo Music Hall To Hell With The Amps Tour is Definitely Going To Rock!!!!!!!
Awesome musicians... Seen Stryper on the Final Battle tour in Biloxi,Ms. and In God We Trust tour in New Orleans,La. Looking forward to hearing their new music.... Great band.
Did I hear say that they are in Canada? When they came to Vancouver Sometime in the 80s I didn’t have the money to go. Come to Vancouver Stryper or I’m gonna have to go down to Seattle One of these times.
Can you imagine Stryper opening up for Maiden? They would get slaughtered. And rightfully so. I think the hesitance comes from the fact Stryper have a reputation for preaching at the audience through their music, and people are opposed to that, throwing bibles out at the crowd etc, this is what they are known for, that definitely would not fly at an Iron Maiden or Judas Priest gig and there is a difference between having your faith and then subjecting people to your faith.
I concur. There are many Christian musicians in Metal bands. Being Christian doesn't make Stryper unique but the band do lay it on thick on every track. I myself find that tiresome. In addition, this constant victimisation which is of their choosing is tiresome too.
Sure Stryper could open for Maiden. If you haven't seen Stryper live then you don't know how they can win an audience over. The energy and musicianship are top class. When I saw Maiden in Leeds last year Lord of the Lost were backing them. Stryper would be a much better fit for a Maiden support slot. It would certainly get the audience's attention, and there were quite a few Stryper patches and t-shirts at that Maiden gig anyway. The other band they would be a good fit for would be The Darkness. Justin Hawkins is a fan.
They wouldn’t get slaughtered! Get serious! Obviously, you haven’t seen them live in recent times. They aren’t pushy or very preachy at all. They still throw a few bibles but you gotta admit, every band is “ preaching “ something. Stryper is a metal band, they play music! Don’t be so intolerant!
@@wesleyfarmer6519 get serious? I go and see Maiden every tour, they wouldn't go down well with a Maiden crowd. I am not being intolerant, I am being realistic.
@@beastwishes I am a maiden fan too and I have seen them live as well, if Ghost can tour with them Stryper definitely could. Nicko is a bold Christian and has Christian imagery all over his drum set. Stryper have played with bands far less tame than IM
It's all about business and making money. Christianity in this generation is done. This band changed. Don't listen to them anymore. It's all about money. No one preaching salvation. Let's see them actually give up the world and the money to actually follow Jesus Christ. Not.
@kevinbarlett6233 Christianity isn't a trend. It's a relationship with God. Stryper is better then ever. They were a platinum selling band in the 80's.
@@mr.brenman2132 it's a relationship with Jesus Christ. They don't throw bibles out anymore for publicity. They changed. It's all about making money for themselves and the executives. "Rich" Christians won't make it to heaven. Christ knows everyone's hearts. Don't try to give up your money when you are too late and not give when you are alive. Stryper rocks ! Jesus saves sinners! God bless you
Stryper Rules!

Stryper`s GOTTA be the most underrated band ever....absolutely amazing talent since Day ONE......

Stryper are too good to open for other bands. They are a headline act. On par with the best in the business
They should tour with Kid Rock Skid Row Kiss and Rage Against the Machine ❤❤❤

Styper rocks. Jesus saves sinners! God bless you
I lost track of these guys in the 80s, time to re-visit
You're in for a treat.
Their last 5 albums are excellent. Definitely give them a listen.
The last 5 albums are their best in my opinion. Love the early stuff too but they are releasing some incredible new music.
Michael&Robert never ever stop .God bless u...
STRYPER Forever!!!!!
Stryper is one of the best metal bands of all time.
Fantastic interview !!!
I kept two things as a teen from the 80s…a mullet and Stryper, and they both rock!
Im a heathen that loves Stryper's music. Legit heavy band.

Great interview.
Got excited when I saw that Stryper was going to be back in Charlotte, until I read "no amps".
Incredible show

🤘🤘
Stryper should tour with Kid Rock Skid Row Rage Against the Machine and Kiss.❤❤❤
I’m sure less costs transporting gear is a plus also
Maybe these bands are afraid to get showed up!!??
I think Stryper avoids coming to Canada. I believe the last time they were here was 25th Anni tour.
They don't avoid Canada. If a Canadian promoter wants them to come then they will.
They were in Toronto I think in 2020❤❤❤
Sex, drugs, and violence are fine but don't talk about Jesus. That's too edgy. So many people are soft poser hypocrites.

Masonic band
What's that supposed to mean?

After your gone, Christianity will still be here. Rest peacefully, my man.
You haven’t followed any of Michael’s social media. He quotes scripture and talks about faith.
You sound ridiculous! I know you don't think so,but you do!

The message is not true and they know it....
The message is the word of God. Nothing could be more true.
