I don't know how I found your channel (watching from New York) - but I love this segment! I've been around the block job-wise, and fortunate to have had three long term jobs without the need for cover letters. I do not like writing one, and dreaded applying to jobs needing one, because I need help to quantify my accomplishments.

Please PROOFREAD your cover letter and resume. It's means it is. Incorrectly used right on the cover page. Given how quickly they sort through job applications, they'd likely boot one with a typo up front. Great quantified accomplishments but attention to detail counts.

The percentage thing only applies to certain jobs. In retail you would have to say, helped to increase revenue...no idea what percentages are, in food service are you supposed to say cut up 1,000 mangoes and potatoes? this just doesn't apply to every job. I do like her opening to the letter.

I approach it as referencing data, not necessarily percentages. I work in a field where percentages are hard to apply in a cover letter or interview, but I can tell you the number of files I worked on in a given time period or how long it took to resolve a complicated issue with multiple people involved (for example)...I find its more about using numbers to describe your accomplishments in whatever way makes sense for your field of work and the job you are applying for.

@Muay Thai Girl if you can do that, that's good, but it just doesn't apply in every job.
