This is so true. I've been considering starting a youtube channel and will start it next week. I want to talk about the history of the NHL but didn't know how to do it, but this made me realize that I can combine my storytelling skills with the fact that I've been a working stand-up comedian for 20 years, suddenly I'll be doing content that nobody else will be able to compete with.
I'm so glad I found this and gave it a shot. Roberto is giving me such great advice. I'm definitely writing this down as guidelines for my gaming channel.

Wow that came at just the right time for me. I am a tiny channel and need all the help and knowledge I can get so thank you. I have a question, are youtube shorts good or bad for a small channel? It is easier to get views from shorts than long form content but I will still be doing both, I am just trying to speed up the process. The issue for me is that shorts get views but no one subscribes.
It’s not about good or bad but really what you want to accomplish and where you can get momentum. Shorts have more reach but they don’t always convert to subscribers for some content as quickly as others. But they are fast and easy exposure to casual RUclips viewers… So consider if that has value to you.
