I installed 2 of theses in my Toyota Tacoma 2023 trd the bass is so intense I got compliments all day I have mine paired with 1000 watt mono Jl amp Also the Jl audio 0 gauge wiring I also use Jl for my highs
@@kaia5591 This of course, has 15 years of separation. Which is the last time I had my old W6. And my truck now is newer and more solidly built than my early 20s car. Way less rattles. I have a better amp pushing the TW three. With all that being said. The TW three sounds cleaner and louder, and although some of those things are subjective based on time, I can tell you for sure it hits harder and deeper than my old. My guess is the speaker with 19 mm of one-way excursion has more than the old sixes. The speakers are incredible. I wish they made one in 15"
@@fishtailfuture Thank you for the update. Your response is exactly what I’m looking for. You and I may be around the same age. I’m getting back into sounds again. As a young high schooler the W6 was the cream of the crop. Having somebody to compare the two. Makes me confident in going back to the well in JL. Although the subs of today are cheaper and loud. I feel like the subs of the past were way better. Thanks again! 👍
I bought 2 Rockford fosgate p3 shallow mount and I gotta say I am not impressed. They are 300 watts rms each and I have a alpine 600 watt amp at 2 ohm nothing close to what this sub is doing. Very nice 👍🏼!
You should get a box made by JL it would make that 12 slap even harder, man no subwoofer cracks like a JL Audio does! I bet that shallow JL 12" hits hard than these full size name brand ones!
For that sub If you do ported it would need to be .95 cubic foot net volume with 12.5 square inches of port area. Port lengt of 30.5 inches for a tuning of 32 Hz.
Know1 has made a video of one of these guys ported yet. I have one a sealed box but the shop I go to is an authorized JL dealer and have lots of experience with these subs. He said a ported makes the tw3 comes to life and I believe him. This is then 1st sealed box iv had and it does sound great but its soooooo inefficient. Hard to believe its 400 watts. 400 watts done right should rattle your whole ride and be herd down the block. I will make the only demo video with a ported 12" tw3...literally getting the box on monday.
I talk about making it ever since. I could send you some pics if you want. The builder sent me some while it was being built so I could appreciate the work on the inside. It's a thing of beauty...
I have two 12TW1’s in a sealed box firing down, powered by a PG SD800.5 and they sound very clean, while turning heads when I drive by. I was surprised how low they get.
Im on the same boat. I currently have 2 10 inch kicker cvrt shallows in my can am X3 and just ordered a 10 inch TW3 in a JL stealth box specially for the can am. I really hope they sound better then the Kickers because it’s costing me a pretty penny.
I think what you're referring to is the rolling shutter effect where the camera records the top of the frame slightly before the bottom so things look slanted when they move quickly.
Same question here. I found a silver box for a charger but that's not the type of car I have and I only have one sub so I cut it in half and put it in my car and it sounds good but I'm just worried sealed and closures are going to blow my sub like it seems like it's muffling so much of the base and the volume
The 13tw5 is most definitely worth it.. I had one on a 500/1 slash and it hit hard if u can get to a car audio shop that has one hooked up on display ud be impressed.. the price tho is high but u get what u pay for
@@MrCliff050505 I had all jl audio subs. W6 sounds harder than tw5 and tw3!! Tw5 is to expensive because is the Mounting depth is only 2.625". if you compare a shallow subwoofer with a regular subwoofer is not make any sense. are for a different configuration

howd you get them in? as far as enclosure? im debating going with Mr Marv custom box for $480 shipped,
Great Sound 👍🏾 Clean Setup
super clean! No rattles or baffle/cone slap at all! you happen to have box specs you build?
My 10TW3 hits harder than my old W6 12s. Those subs are incredible for the mounting depth.
Do they sound as good as the old w6s?

Yeap cleaner bass than alpine big time

This sub is so clean tho they kept that in mind. Not just something to rattle down the street it’s something that gives you the crispiest bass ever
Nice I’m thinking of getting this for my truck too, I might just get the powerwedge and just stick it in the back.. how much did the box cost
Id love to be able to compare these to my kicker comp RT's. Id upgrade if I knew it'd be worth it.

What’s the rms on the amp? And is it just one sub?

This enclosure box is not well designed by jl especification incluing in the manual????
How’s the lows on these in person?
One of the cleanest subs you’ll ever hear man

Thx
Debating between this and their 13" sub. This on has more xmax an half the price.
Not sure if the 13" is worth almost double the coin?

6eRa5 if the 13TW5 the 12TW3 had to beat as hard as a W6 12” because the TW5 in the correct box sand amp hit hard

The TW3 only rated 400watts in 2/4 ohm. Will the speaker blown for 1500 watts amp?
That amp is overkill. You just need to set the output voltage of the amp the match the voltage required by the sub. (Use Ohm's law)
@@Bruceillest101 that has nothing to do with ohm's law...that's just matching wattage to wattage.
