can someone please tell me the name of the main Japanese man with the blue patch demonstrated during seminars. I was lucky enough to meet him and his son and haven't seen or spoke to either since I was a kid. his son was a good friend of mine and I'd like to reconnect but I have forgotten his name.
This is the main problem with thesee "authentic" traditional karate styles. Inventing magical fighting techniques that work only in an imaginary situation. Teachers are just men without real fighting experience. So let's just call it with the correct name - cultural-bodily exercises...
How do you know if these traditional masters have ever had a fight? You don’t , then your point Is wrong, have you fought with them? these traditionals styles were designed to the war, not to win tournaments, today the teachers don't walk un the street searching a fight to prove His style Is Better, if you watch the fighters in UFC or MMA they use techniques of these traditionals (kicks, blocks, locks) so don't open your mouth to talk shit, go back to training and study the origin of the traditional martial arts.
You might be right but to be fair founder of this particular style was already a blackbet in jujitsu and he actively fought and sparred with other grapling styles long before he started karate under founder of Shotokan. But after a while he quit Shotokan because they didn't allow even sparring. He then studied under Choki Motubu who was an actual fighter( he had a bad rep because he always fought on red light district to test his skills LOL)
superbe vidéo
