I recently finished Degrassi and I accidentally fell completely in love with these two, so I had to edit them.
I know they had huge flaws, as does the show, but their story made me laugh and smile more than I have in ages, and also smashed my heart into a million pieces.
This is a tribute to them and all the times their love story was flawed, but they ultimately always found their way back to each other. I wish wish wish they were endgame, but even though they're technically not, they ended the show still in love, which is enough.
A few notes:
- This is my first ever edit which also includes audio from the actual show, so it's not perfectly done. A lot of the audio clips have background music, which I tried to minimise but couldn't remove, so sorry about that.
- Not all the audio clips match the video clip playing at the same time. They're the lines I thought fit best with both the video clips and the lines of the song.
- This is done from alternating perspectives! I'll put the full explanation of what's who below in the comments!
- The first verse and first two choruses are about their first relationship, first break-up, and them finding their way back to each other and starting their second. The second verse, bridge, and third chorus are mostly about Tristan being in a coma and then waking up and coming back to Miles again. The last half of the last chorus refers to their second break-up and how they were still there with each other at the end, because their love was still there.
- I know this ship - and especially Tristan - isn't loved by everyone, but I personally love it, even though there were times when both characters were pretty awful to each other, so I'd appreciate no hate comments, thank you!

Miles and Tristan were actually my favorite openly gay couple. I enjoyed them from beginning to end.

what season?
@@oneyaoilove1709 they're together from the very end of season 13 until mid season 14, and then again from early season 2 of Degrassi: Next Class until almost the end of season 4. But basically their story is from season 13 - season 18 (which is season 4 of DNC)

@@gaycartoons I like how their relationship drama wasn’t entirely about being gay, and they weren’t afraid to show their toxic character traits unlike how other LGBT characters were portrayed almost like victims or innocent. With the exception of the girl who dated Paige.
@@pictureperfect3211 yeah, that's true. I think some of the other queer characters were pretty well done, but some of them were a bit too good to be true. (the girl who dated Paige is Alex btw)

Boy you’re talented! Do these perspectives relate to the thoughts of the characters or just who we predominately see in the video when the verse plays as a “through their eyes” type of thing?

those parts are from seasons 13 and 14 of degrassi, so they're not in the Netflix seasons (Degrassi: Next Class). You can find them on the Degrassi youtube channel :)

I actually hated Miles when he was with Resme, because he became such a jerk, and he treated Winston really bad I feel so bad for Winston, but when he's with Tristan he's so innocent, but when he's with girls he acts like a stuck up jerk
that's a fair point! i never hated him, but i definitely liked him better with Tristan than when he was with girls. i think part of his 'stuck up jerk' routine was a defensive response to the way his father treated him (that doesn't mean it was all okay, though!)
I don't hate him, I just hate it when he's with girls because he acts like he's all mister nice guy but I think he gets it from his father

The last couple of seasons of Degrassi, which is set prior to Next Class! The entire thing can be found on the official Degrassi RUclips channel. The seasons with Triles are seasons 13 and 14 :)
I justvstarted watching and on season 3. But some of these clips they look younger. Does Tristan go blonde after S3? Right now I've only seen him with black hair.

they ended the show broken up but still in love with each other!! apparently there'll be a new Degrassi series on HBO in 2023 or something, so maybe we'll see them again then! but right now they're broken up, but still in love. watch degrassi to see their whole story!

they broke up at the end because Miles was going away to uni and Tristan needed to focus on getting better after his accident, and they realised they were holding each other back :)
