I just wanted to let you know that the Midori Codex clear cover fits the Hobonichi Cousin much better, especially if one is using "all the things" to decorate the monthly, weekly and daily pages. I just found this Midori clear cover a few weeks ago. It is made for the Midori page a day diary. The regular Midori clear cover fits the Hobonichi Cousin Avec much better. I hope this helps anyone who doesn't like the spine collapsing in on itself from the cover not being big enough to accommodate the extra girth created from using "all the things".
Great video!!! Even though I use the Sterling ink…it’s modeled after the cousin. For 2025, I’m splitting up home & work into 2 planners. Thanks for some different ideas to use my planner.
Have been looking through a few of your vids and just wanted to say thanks you! I just bought my first cousin and I absolutely love a lot of your tips! ❤
Becky, I love my Hobo Cousin. I fin it not enough to write some days but am elated when all falls into place. I use mine as a gratitude, monthly events, weekly events and scripture topics, the the daily’s are used or scripture writing. It’s has been that way for years. It has been such a blessing. Yes, I love layering my stickers too.
I’m obsessed with your planners! Love it, you’ve got a new subscriber out of me :) I just bought the cousin, the weekly mega and I have another planner as well that I use as a messy idea-don’t-care planner. lol and I’m loving it. Planning to use the weekly for on the go and day life things. But trying to really figure out how much of work to add to these. But I love the journaling aspect!
I use the A6 which doesn’t have the weeklies in it. But I love using the monthlies for preplanning, and then using the task blocks on the dailies for my top 3 things to get done today, and then the space for journaling. I love it!
Becky this video was brilliant having just bought a cousin I would find the daily pages difficult to fill but with your video you have now given me ideas to use the daily’s for. Glad you are getting a cousin I loved seeing your planning in that
Thank you for this video! I ordered the Common Planner for 2023. I’m going to try having functional planning, journaling and random notes all in one planner. Prayer journal in an A6 Stalogy. Loved all of your ideas for the daily pages. I plan on keeping a cohesive look with the Sterling Ink kits, but you seem so happy with using different kits for different kits depending on your mood. Love how fun your Cousin turned out! 🥰
I loved using my cousin this year as a planner but I did struggle with the daily pages- I just don't have that many things going on every single day. I thought about journaling in the dailies but couldn't wrap my head around journaling and planning in one book.
This is a great video. So many helpful ideas. This year I decided to go back to hobonichi (I used the weeks a few years ago and loved it) but I'll admit I struggled with it. This month I finally found the balance I was looking for. It wasn't that it was too big ...I just didn't know what my planning style was. I wanted to buy all the stickers but I also wanted it to be functional...and it just wasn't working. I finally realized it was me because I had this problem with all my planners in the past. What worked for me was in the weekly section I did the basic layout only using an erasable pen for work, appointments, events, trackers, meals then at the end of the week I could fill out the rest with stickers and memories. I also use pictures memes and little notes of funny or memorable things. And the daily pages I use as a wellness layout. I just looked at some wellness/workout inserts and tried a few different layouts to keep things fresh. This has taught me that one of the most important things is to know yourself and what works for your style.
I absolutely LOVED this video! I think your pages are “too busy” at first glance, but your personality is what makes this video one of my favorites on how to use the planner. This is my first year using the Hobonichi Cousin-my first time using Hobonichi anything, and I am quite eager to begin. I am looking forward to experimenting with different techniques and functionalities with the daily pages, as well as the vertical layout of the weekly. I love the idea of a journal and a planner all in one. I have good ideas for the whole thing, just need to find out my “Cousin-style.” Thank you so much for your video. It was quite enjoyable. What are you using for 2024?
I love the Cousin so much, but I'm downsizing for next year. I'm waiting on the B6 Sterling Ink Common Planner. I also bought the B6 2023 Wonderland 222 planner. (I don't need both of them, I just couldn't make up my mind.☺)
Thank you for the beautiful video. I like how you showed the different versions of using all the space. I too become confused sometimes about which system to fill in. Nice to see different options. I prefer large journals as I tend to end up carrying around bags which becomes crazy. Something that would help would be to use wooden stamps (have a variety of ones you like) stamps I think this would help with suggestions of what to use.
Hi Becky! Hope you are doing well! I’m working on my Hobo. Cousin now…I have had it for about 5 days now…tracked a shop in Japan who had an English version. I love mine! I have the opposite problem…I run out of space in my Cousin…but this year is a trial run for me with the Cousin…I use my Hobo. Weeks to pre-plan then I transfer to Cousin. And I started the sticker planning and ordered from 5 shops but trying their stuff out. And now I ask myself where do I plan my week with limited space? So after a few days of sticker planning I decided I am still a functional planner and I like the mini functional stickers with mini deco stickers. And I like it because as hectic my life is the Cousin allows you to change your layout weekly to suit your needs. It’s the most comprehensive planner I have used and I know it’s not for everyone. But for 2024 I am planning to buy two of these. Thanks to you and your ideas! I will have one for functional and one for memory keeping…I was going to order the A6 Techo but decided it may be too small. I’m going to try some of your Cousin layouts since this year is a trail run for me esp. with this sticker craze…hope you and the family are well…take care!
I make the first few weeks of daily pages my goals and project pages. I never use my dailies at the beginning of the year because I'm on holiday (its summer here in New Zealand). I also print pages I want and stick them on the weekly pages for part of Dec/Jan because again I wouldn't use those pages otherwise. Thats how ive overcome some of my guilt of wasting paper and pages and its also why I dont need another notebook/planner
Great video, I love the hobo paper, but it’s to much book for me. If Catherine didn’t come out with one I would have gotten one and had it cut down. Again love your video, thank you for sharing.
I used the cousin last year for a journal and it was really intimidating I have written a book about pain and that is like a journal but I loved that but having to write an a5 size page everyday is way too much. I used the A6 this year no it was perfect. I have a 5year A6 and the techo and perfect size. BUT I work at a legal firm and I am using my A6 rings BUTI’m thinking the cousin might be a better option I can use the daily pages for the days work I do and also have a master running to do list. I have 48 cases at the moment and I need to know where I am up to with them so I’m thinking the cousin will be a great note book 😊
Hi Becky love all your videos. I have been scouring through your RUclips looking for a video where I thought that you cut down a hobonichi cousin into a standard traveler's notebook. Did you do such a thing or am I dreaming LOL if you did could you point me to the name of the video. Your planners spreads are always so pretty

Great video! I love the cousin but I wish it were a B6 size. This really helped me to break down that difficult daily page. Thank you!
Very helpful and informative! Great ideas!

Regarding the 3-St Routine - where did you learn about that? I’ve searched and can’t fine anything on it. Much appreciated?

How do you write so much in the hobo? I can't even fill up the small planner!
What pens do you use to write on them? Thanks!

Can someone recommend functional stickers for A6
Where did you get your black cover from?
It’s a gillio cover hun
I think white space is good I struggle with consistency. 😢
Where do you get your planner from. I am in the uk and wondering how to get one.
@harithapadmadas8815 I have been searching everywhere but all seem to be sold out. I ended up getting from Amazon but was way overpriced imho at £68!

Hey hun, I cut down a Stalogy to a standard size not a cousin
@@Whoopsididitagainco ok thanks I'll search for it. Please continue to put out great content. I have anxiety and your videos help me out.
Sterling Ink cut down her cousin and there are a few other videos where people have cut theirs down.
