You are so welcome! I used the Hobonichi Cousin for three years and loved it! It's a wonderful planner. I'm glad you found some inspiration in my videos.😊 Thanks so much for watching!❤️
You're welcome, Jen! My reference notebook is such an valuable part of my planning system. Let me know if you decide to start one! Thanks for watching!
Hi Jennifer! I totally agree...The reference book is a game changer. It will ALWAYS be a vital part of my planning system. I'm glad you found some inspo from my video.😊 Thanks for watching!
I jumped on the Hobonichi train for 2023. I’m excited to use it. I got the Japanese version, I like the color coding and the Japanese text makes it very unique.
Just found your video and I love your creativity for a catch-all planner. I have been in a Hobonichi Cousin since 2020. It always amazes me how easily one can make it what we need as a planner. Thank you!
Hi Maria! Thank you so much! I really loved using the Hobinichi Cousin for three years, and I'm sure I will return to it in the future. I'm glad you enjoyed the video, and thanks for watching!💕
Really enjoyed this presentation/information. I have the Franklin Planner (from 40 years ago - original cover!) and Hobonichi Cousin Avec. Can't decide which one to use for all my info in one place and which for daily planning. Thank you for presenting the bound planner side.
Eight minutes in and you've sold me on the cousin. I've been using the original A6 with a weekly HP for overview. After finding out the Cousin has a weekly view WITH daily, I was debating if I should up the ante next year. Thanks for showing what you have laid out! This is incredibly helpful!
I have had the WORST case of planner block for 2023 until I watched this video! Thank you so much for sharing this with us! I had already bought my Cousin for 2023 but also realized that when I have more than one planner I often get disorganized and disenchanted if you will on planning. I have memory problems so I need to plan haha. But this, this suggestion may well solve my problem. Thank you again so much for sharing!
Hi, nice to meet you, I'm a hobonichi starter, your sharing inspired me a lot, I think I'll watch your video clip couple times after, and find out how to go with it, thank you for sharing 🙂
Hi Amanda...Welcome! I'm excited to hear that you are trying out the Hobonichi Cousin. I used it for 3 years and loved it so much.❤️ I hope you do as well! Thanks for watching!
What an amazing video! Thank you so much for sharing this. You have really great ideas that are going to work really well for me too. I love fat bulky planners too, love the "Frankenstein" planners.
Great vid 🤗 I am finishing up my first year in Hobonichi cousin and already have my new 2023 hobo … You gave me so many planner ideas to be more organized in 2023 🥰 thank you…
This was SO GOOD!!! You’ve sold me! I wish it was November so I could start a new catch-all like yours…just can’t swing another planner for this year. Next year I’m copying you. 😊 I really enjoy your channel and your soothing voice. Thank you for sharing your planner experience with us!
This really inspired me! I used my Hobonichi this way last year, though my sections were not as detailed. I had a section for work notes, personal notes, lists, projects and finances and indexed them at the front. I still refer to it! This year I decided to try using the daily pages in the more traditional way but I think I really prefer this. Your video has given me alot more ideas for what details I'd like to add. I have alot of blank pages from last year and this year I want to put more of them to use.
Great video as always. I use your idea about the separate notebook that I saw in an early video and it has been working out well. I do find it always so interesting how people use planners differently. Example, I mostly use the daily pages of my Hobonichi and the weekly and monthly go unused for the most part. I could see using your idea of inserts on those pages which may even replace some of the items in my second notebook.
I used to have a shop dedicated to tomoe river inserts, TRP is notoriously difficult to print on, you first of all need a printer that is capable of printing on paper that thin, which isn't as common as you'd think, and secondly, for many printers, you have to manually feed the paper to the printer. It's difficult good luck! I used a Pixma printer for my shop.
Thanks for the heads-up! I don't have a fancy printer, for sure. Another subscriber suggested taping the tomoe river paper to sheet of regular copy paper and running it through the printer. I may give that a try next time!👍
Thank you so much for this! I moved away from the Hobo Cousin because I needed the extra space for sectioning which it did not offer however I was not consistently using the daily pages. I did buy a Hobo Cousin for 2022 in hopes of making it work and ended up in a Stalogy. I am extremely motivated now to make my Hobo work.
Hmm.. interesting. I hadn't thought to cover the pages up... If you're going to customize the pages there's nothing to keep you from covering up and reusing a *used* Hobo...so you get two years instead of one out of it. I don't like to cover blank pages, it feels wasteful to me. But I would cover a used page. This would be a really interesting project. I have many Hobos that I used for part of the year and then discarded. But with this method, I can actually get my money's worth out of them. Thank you so much for the idea! It's like using it as a Stalogy, but better! Full disclosure, I found planner peace in a Hobo A6. I'm going on several years with it, but I still have to journal elsewhere, so I miss the space of the A5. This just may solve that problem! :)
It's definitely a good idea to repurpose old partially used planners by recovering the pages. That sounds like a fun and functional project! Let me know how it turns out...Enjoy!😊
One of your earlier videos showing how you used the daily section of the cousin really inspired me. I am a huge note taker, list maker, research type person. But I always have several notebooks going with all of my info and it can be confusing to find what I’m looking for. Your video inspired me to buy a second cousin ( I use the one I have completely day to to day) and I’ve set it up to be a catch all for notes etc based on subject. I’m using the daily part and labeling each month by subject ex- January = health notes supplement research February = food prep/recipe/ kitchen organizing march= pigment notes etc. The book will be ongoing until it’s full. I’m using the month calendar as an index. The dates act like a page number. This video went on to inspire me about how to use the weekly part. I can use it for brain dumps and lists! I usually write them all over the place. Thank you for talking through your process- it helps to spark ideas of how I can apply this to my life. I love consolidating everything into just a couple places. It just goes to show how versatile the cousin can be.
It makes me SO happy to hear that people get inspiration from my videos. That's what it's all about for me...sharing and inspiring each other. Thanks so much for watching!💕
Awww...Thanks so much and thanks for subbing, Lindy! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video. I have my books inside a Hobonichi Cousin cover. Thanks for watching!💕
Wow! Like you, I much prefer having everything together. I feel that you recreated a Kokuyo Jibun Techo, where you could use the Idea book(s) for your various printouts. Have you looked into the Jibun Techo?
To cut down on the bulk in my Stalogy, I print all of my printable insert onto Tomoe River Paper so when I paste them in, my book stays thin. I buy a big pack on Amazon and it doesn't cost much.
Thanks for the suggestion! I did try that, but I bought A5 size tomoe river paper and I couldn't figure out the printer settings to print A5 inserts on A5 paper. Next time I'll buy 8.5 x 11 paper and just cut them down. 👍
That is so cool! I have toyed around with taking on the challenge of using the Weeks Mega as my catch-all next year. I'd love to see yours for inspiration...Please share your Instagram handle so I can check it out!👍
My catchall planner is my Hobonichi Techo A6 - I use a Hobo Cousin A5 for my work planner. I enjoyed your video and have just subscribed to yur channel
Welcome...I'm so glad you found me!😊 I use the Cousin because I simply MUST have my yearly, monthly, and weekly spreads set up for me. I have absolutely no desire to draw them out. I'm fine with using inserts or perhaps drawing out other spreads but the calendars...ugh!!😂 Hope that helps!
Hi there! I didn't add page numbers in my Hobonichi Cousin. I added page numbers in my reference notebook which is part of my planning system. There is an index in the front of that notebook. Thanks for watching!💕
Loved seeing your in-depth planning in your Hobonichi.!! It was inspirational as I would also prefer to have most of everything in one place.! Thank you so much.!! And FYI: Your voice is so calming and peaceful. 💖💖💖💖. Blessings.
Thanks so much! This is the Hobonichi Cousin Kadan white cover. I think it might have been released by Hobonichi in 2019 or 2020. I purchased it from StationeryStation515 on Etsy.com. I love it!❤️
I love your planner. The setup is totally different from what I have seen. I have two questions first where did you get your tabs for the back portion and also did you use glue or sticker paper for your inserts?
Hi Natalie! I use the Paper Penguin Co. A5 size 160-page tomoe river paper grid notebook for my reference notebook and I absolutely love it! You can find Paper Penguin Co. on Etsy.com. I purchased the clear cover for my Hobonichi Cousin from Lauren Phelps Designs. Her clear covers are amazing. She has her own website...Definitely check her out! I purchased the clear cover-on-cover for my planner from StationeryStation515 on Etsy.com. Hope that helps!😊
Wow, very smart way of using the Hobo planner. A single planer 4 everything U need 2 keep track/plan instead of multiple books. Thx 4 sharing on Utube.
I LOVE your channel. I have been a rings gal for a long time but HATE writing in rings. I have been afraid of moving to book bound due to not being able to keep important things without having to rewrite them year over year. Your reference book idea is GENIUS! I can't wait to work on mine.
Yaayyy! I just know you’ll love the reference notebook! It makes so much sense, and it’s so functional. I started out in rings many years ago, but I have fallen in love with book bound planners. I’m so glad you enjoy my content…Thanks for watching!🥰
Lovely planner and lovely video! I'm new to your channel and I already love it so much, you seem an amazing person! ♥️ Thank you for making this video. 🙏🏻
I absolutely love the Hobinichi Cousin but really struggle with having everything I want and need in it. So much so that I started 2022 in Hobonichi and have just moved back into rings. Your video has given me some great ideas on how I could make it work and I'm considering giving it another go ... thank you! 😊 xx
I am still new to using my Hobonichi, but I have found myself evolving into this too. I use pages I don't need and printed out templates for my cross stitching (inventory, patterns, kitted up patterns, etc) I'm still brainstorming what else I can use some pages for and this helped me get a few ideas I'm going to look into! Thank you for this thorough video, it helped me out a lot ♥
Hi Mary! Most of my inserts are from Peanuts Planner Co. I think I tried to display the shop names for any non-Peanuts Planner Co. inserts throughout the video. Hope that helps!😊
I bought my 1st Hobonichi, and I am watching tons of videos on amazing things people do with them! This great, thank you for sharing! xoxoxo
You are so welcome! I used the Hobonichi Cousin for three years and loved it! It's a wonderful planner. I'm glad you found some inspiration in my videos.😊 Thanks so much for watching!❤️
I loved this organizational style!!! The separate book is the perfect way to stop rewriting things every year! Thanks so much for sharing!!!
You're welcome, Jen! My reference notebook is such an valuable part of my planning system. Let me know if you decide to start one! Thanks for watching!
The reference book idea to move year to year is a GAME. CHANGER. Brilliant idea. Thank you for the inspiration!!
Hi Jennifer! I totally agree...The reference book is a game changer. It will ALWAYS be a vital part of my planning system. I'm glad you found some inspo from my video.😊 Thanks for watching!

I love that the reference planner and catch-all is together in one place. I am definitely going to try this.
Go for it! Let me know how it works out for you...I'd love to hear!😊
sorry if this sounds weird but your voice is very calming. Sometimes when I dont feel well I just turn it on to calm down lol
That's not weird at all...I actually hear that a lot, and that makes me SO happy that my videos are calming and relaxing. Thanks for watching, Karen!💕
Just found your video and I love your creativity for a catch-all planner. I have been in a Hobonichi Cousin since 2020. It always amazes me how easily one can make it what we need as a planner. Thank you!

loved seeing more into your setup! And i totally agree about how nice and comforting it feels to have everything contained in one book. Love it!
Love the reference notebook idea!
Yessss!! My reference notebook is a super essential part of my planning system. Thanks for watching!😉
Loved this video! I feel like I’m listening to a college professor everytime I hear your voice-so calm and knowledgeable. Thanks for sharing!
Wow, thank you! That's so sweet. I'm super happy that you enjoyed the video...Thanks for watching!💕
If i need an entire page for a day ill use it but ill usually do the same as you, i use the weekly mainly for day to day stuff xx
Hi Lisa! Thanks for sharing and for watching the video. Hope you enjoyed it!😊

Cool...Works like a charm, right?😊
I have the same cover for my Hobonichi Cousin. I love it. It's so pretty.
I love it, too! Thanks for watching!💕

You have a great catch all planner system!! Can hardly wait until I shop for mine for next year!!
Thank you so much! Happy planning for 2023! It's always so exciting to start a new planner.😊 Thanks for watching!

Great setup! I have made the same in the pocket filofax
Cool! Pocket planners are SO stinkin' cute, but I'm scared to death of such a tiny planner. I'd love to see yours...Are you on Instagram?
Great video as always. I use your idea about the separate notebook that I saw in an early video and it has been working out well. I bet if you had time to make a digital planner you would rock the digital planning world away!!!! I love your planners
Thanks so much! I have never even considered a digital planner because I love paper so much, but I appreciate the vote of confidence!😊

I would not invest too much in buying other people's templates, though. That would defeat the cost-saving. But I could make my own...
It's definitely a good idea to repurpose old partially used planners by recovering the pages. That sounds like a fun and functional project! Let me know how it turns out...Enjoy!😊
Making your own inserts / templates sounds like fun! I don't have time for that these days but it's a worthwhile venture, for sure.😊

You are so welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed the video and found some inspiration.😊
This is excellent! So many ideas and so well, organized! Your voice is delightful. I subscribed!
What is the main cover you have both books in?
Awww...Thanks so much and thanks for subbing, Lindy! I'm so glad you enjoyed the video. I have my books inside a Hobonichi Cousin cover. Thanks for watching!💕
Loved this. What book is your reference book? Secondly, how do,you get the words on your tabs?
Wow! Like you, I much prefer having everything together. I feel that you recreated a Kokuyo Jibun Techo, where you could use the Idea book(s) for your various printouts. Have you looked into the Jibun Techo?
Yes, I am actually SERIOUSLY considering the Jibun Techo for 2023...Stay tuned!😊
To cut down on the bulk in my Stalogy, I print all of my printable insert onto Tomoe River Paper so when I paste them in, my book stays thin. I buy a big pack on Amazon and it doesn't cost much.

I love the mood tracker! 💕
So do I! It's so much fun to fill out, and I love how it looks as the months pass.😍 Thanks for watching!
I love this so much ❤ my catch all is my hobonichi weeks mega with a paper penguin co insert also🙌🙌🙌
That is so cool!

A fellow Hobonichi lover...Awesome! Thank you for subscribing and I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
Thank you so much for sharing. I’m so glad I found your video. Such an inspiration.
You are so welcome! I'm glad you found me, too, and thanks for watching!💕
I just found your channel! Awesome info! I’m curious why you choose to use a hobonichi instead of a plain notebook?
Welcome...I'm so glad you found me!😊 I use the Cousin because I simply MUST have my yearly, monthly, and weekly spreads set up for me. I have absolutely no desire to draw them out. I'm fine with using inserts or perhaps drawing out other spreads but the calendars...ugh!!😂 Hope that helps!
I noticed you also added page numbers at the bottom of your pages. Do you have an index in front of your Hobonichi?
💖💖💖💖. Blessings.
Awww...Thank you so much! I'm thrilled that you enjoyed the video and found it inspiring...Thanks for watching!💕
Thanks!
Thanks so much, Deborah, for supporting my channel! I really appreciate you, and I'm glad you enjoyed the video!💕
Love this idea
Thank you, and thanks for watching!😊
Love your videos! I love that cover also! Which cover is that?
Thanks so much! This is the Hobonichi Cousin Kadan white cover. I think it might have been released by Hobonichi in 2019 or 2020. I purchased it from StationeryStation515 on Etsy.com. I love it!❤️
I love your planner. The setup is totally different from what I have seen. I have two questions first where did you get your tabs for the back portion and also did you use glue or sticker paper for your inserts?
Thanks! I made the tabs in the back portion of my planner using Avery Ultra Tabs and Avery Mini Tabs and my Brother P-Touch label maker.😊
What kind of notebook do you use for your reference book and what clear covers do you use for your planners?
Do you have the full Cousin flip through for 2021?
Yes, I do! Here's the link: ruclips.net/video/FPq1n_IqgQQ/видео.html. Enjoy!💕
What kind of cover are you using?
This a Hobonichi Cousin cover from the 2019 or 2020 line. I absolutely love it still!❤️
Wow, very smart way of using the Hobo planner. A single planer 4 everything U need 2 keep track/plan instead of multiple books. Thx 4 sharing on Utube.
You are so welcome! I'm glad you enjoyed the video...Thanks for watching!😊
I LOVE your channel. I have been a rings gal for a long time but HATE writing in rings. I have been afraid of moving to book bound due to not being able to keep important things without having to rewrite them year over year. Your reference book idea is GENIUS! I can't wait to work on mine.

Awww...Thank you so much!! Welcome to my little corner of RUclips.😊 I'm glad you enjoyed the video!
I absolutely love the Hobinichi Cousin but really struggle with having everything I want and need in it. So much so that I started 2022 in Hobonichi and have just moved back into rings. Your video has given me some great ideas on how I could make it work and I'm considering giving it another go ... thank you! 😊 xx
I'm so glad you found some ideas and inspiration...Thanks for watching!❤️
I am still new to using my Hobonichi, but I have found myself evolving into this too. I'm thrilled that you found some ideas and inspiration from my video...Thanks so much for watching!💕
Love 💕
Thank you and thanks so much for watching!💕
Where did you find the inserts?
Hi Mary! Most of my inserts are from Peanuts Planner Co. I think I tried to display the shop names for any non-Peanuts Planner Co. inserts throughout the video. Hope that helps!😊
