Love this guy! All my ego purchases is due to this man. Hope he is getting kickback from ego for helping them. Love ego and this channel.
Well this guy loves you - thanks for your support 😎
Couldn't agree more with your assessment.
I just used my 24 inch Ego for the first time when we got 20 inches over a 5 day period with 14 of that over 18 hours. The Ego had no problem and actually handled the snow better than my 30 inch 9 HP Ariens. The Ego is a pleasure to use compared to the Ariens as it's quieter, tracks better, provides more control options and throws heavy wet snow further than the Ariens could ever hope to. Very pleased with my purchase and if it proves reliable over the years it will be one of the better outdoor tool purchases I've made.
I also bought the 12 inch power shovel and am amazed with how well that tool performs.
Amen brotha - it's not that EGO battery powered tools are as good as gas - but is gas as good as battery?
How does 21 " singke stage handle the 2 feet of snow the plow leaves at the end of your driveway?
@@WattsupVideo If your question was directed to me I don't have any experience with the 21" single stage. I've read, heard and watched videos where it appears to do just fine but the model with the rubber auger paddles apparently doesn't hold up so the model with the steel paddles is probably the better option.
@@WattsupVideo It doesn't.
Thank you for making this video to have all of them showing side by side for size comparison. I have own/owned all the listed models in different variations and generations for the past 5 years and enjoyed using all of them. Once I applied 5 coats of the Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions Ceramic Spray during off season, these machines works amazingly great!
Though the 21" single stage and 24" 2 stage units would still get clogged in very heavy wet snow conditions, the 28" with the electronic chute so far has not clogged once even after clearing 2 miles/3.3KM of 8" of very heavy wet snow including submerging the unit into 10" of extreme dense wet snow siting in brown road salt & sand puddles (The Brown Slushy winter special) left by the snowplow multiple times. It just shoots them out like brown slushy tubs reminded me of wet concrete cements. One unexpected pleasant surprise of the 28" unit's "Hidden Supper Power" is with the ceramic coating on the inner electronic operated chute, when I pushing the joystick quickly from left and right (with one finger) to quickly rotates 200 degreed in high speed it also loosen all the wet snow/snow build up and clearing itself without any tool which was not possible when using the manual chute control unless I wanted to tired myself out by yanking the chute control left and right in high speed with high torque all the time.
The snow shovel is a great idea but heavy as a power head attachment. It would be great if EGO would include an optional wheel attachment to relief the carrying weight when walking back to the starting point in multiple paths without the need of prematurely wearing out the plastic scraper bar. Would like to see this as a lightweight dedicated tool in carbon fiber format like many other companies has already done then I would be OK without the wheels.
Thank you again for your hard work of making this video.
Great comment - Yeah the 28" seems to have enough power to handle the dry and wet snow without ever clogging. I also found that by leaving the snow blower outside or at the temp it reduces clogging.
@@Kitearmy Leaving it outside may decrease the clogging; however, I am not sure that is good for the gearbox.
I only put it out when a snow storm is on it's way - not all the time@@Jeo-What
Was happy to use both my snow shovel and snowzilla this year. Greatly impressed the neighbors and had plenty of power to help them out too. Thanks for sharing a comparison.
So glad to hear - nice to help the neighbors - that is what I end up doing
Love my Ego single stage. But They really need to adjust their advertised throwing distances. The single stages dont throw 45' or 40' (depends on your model). Under perfect conditions ive seen about 25'. Im not complaining as its honestly fine. But lieing to look better on paper is sad.
My neighbor has the 28'' New ego. Its a beast. Again, 60' throw distance? Its in the 35-40' range. More than you need? Yes. As advertised? No.
I live in alaska and we've been hammered with snow this year ( record snowfall ) So ive seen all the depths and conditions possible basically in the last 2-3 months.
I absolutely Love the single stage, i can use it on my deck and for the 2-7 inch snowfalls its a gem!! I highly recommend it. 3 of us now have EGO's on my street. 2 Single stages and the 28''.
You will find That battery life with the single stages are great IF the snow is between 3-5 inches. Around the 6-7 inch depth it REALLY cuts into the duration of battery. For example if i do my driveway (100' X 25) I can do it 2-3 times if the snow is around 3-4 inches between charges ( I only have the 5 AH batteries ) If its 7-8 inches i run out of battery at the very end or just before its finished. Sweet spot for these is 3-5 inches. They will do more but battery use will be significantly more. This is under dry snow conditions and not wet or heavy snow, so keep this in mind as that changes everything
Also dont bother with the turbo mode cranked up. Leave it on medium or even Low. the gain in power is hardly worth it and barely noticeable. You will end up using a ton of battery for a very small performance gain.
I highly recommend the single stage from my experience. It has limitations but once you figure those out, you will love it!
I have found the single stages are a little on the low side in distance but the new 28" did come close to 60ft
Hi Kite Army, I have the 21’ and 24’ ego snow blower you mentioned. I can tell you with experience using them for my small snow removal business for 16 hours straight is the real test for battery life. With cold temperatures around 0 degrees in chicago last week the 7.5 ah batteries and smaller didn’t even last more then one property. If you have the 10-12 ah batteries then your okay for about 3 properties. Some of my properties are really big and the 10ah would only last that one. After we were done I used 20 batteries. If any one is using it for a business expect that many at least in the cold for Snow blowers. Spring and summer with lawn mower is no problem. I’ll be making a video about it soon
That's why gas will always be king compared to this junk.
hahahhahah - "always"@@Tundra_Guy
do alittle research on RUclips, EGO has some really good stuff for contractors coming out for helping charge batteries in the field. Maybe what they have applies to your business. Good Luck
Yeah their commercial line is really looking good@@beezer5623

😀the sun helped too
Your 24 inch one has heated grips? Is that new for 2024?
Yes - I think it is the new XP
In 2023 my new 24" EGO snowblower clogged-up after about 12 ft. of snow 8" deep. The machine had to be cleared constantly, which was not good, after spending $2000+TX. This year I bought Turtle Wax Ceramic Spray Coating, to try and keep the machine from clogging, as recommended on line; although there are many options out there. (From southern Ontario, Canada.)
**Watching this with my Honda HSS1332ATD and Honda hs621 snowblower. This guy is a freaking Legend! Wow
Thank you sir - if your gonna go gas - honda is the king
Great job on reviewing these guys. I already own several multi-head garden tools and I am thinking about the 12in. electric shovel. This looks like it would be perfect for a few inches of snow
I was surprised how well it worked- seems to do a good job on the slushy stuff
Great vid. That snow shovel attachment is a nice addition to the multi head system
When you were like OMG, i went "Zilla!" This video was what I had been waiting for! I miss the dinosaur suit, though.
I just saw one that was a bear suit - gives the dino a run for it's money

I think the heated hand grips is cool - not sure if it is a make or break option!

The biggest one appears to have problems with snow not all entering the auger, and falling to the cleared side
KiteArmy, I'm absolutely sure you're the hero we all need, but after this little saga, I'm convinced I'm the sidekick who slipped on his own cape. Here's the deal: For ages, I've been perched on the fence about snagging an EGO snowblower, like a cat too scared to jump off the windowsill. I've been eyeing that storm on the horizon, knowing full well I needed some EGO firepower to blast through the blizzard.
So I finally muster the courage, right? I dive headfirst into the snowblower sea - and holy Frosty the Snowman, talk about choices! It's like walking into a buffet where every dish is a different kind of snow-clearing beast: single-stage, two-stage, and grips that claimed to have been forged in the heart of a volcano. These machines are prancing around with more swagger than a strutting peacock, and one of them is touting claims of "auger-assisted propulsion" that's dodgier than a "low-fat" label on a tub of lard. And don't get me started on the blades - we've got rubber, steel, and everything in between like a medieval blacksmith's dream.
There I am, lost in a blizzard of options, and I’m thinking, "No sweat. KiteArmy's always got the lowdown I need. He's the Gandalf to my bewildered Frodo, trudging through this snowy saga." But when I hit up your videos, it's like thumbing through relics - zilch on the gleaming new models before me.
In a daring leap of faith, I go all-in on the SNT2125AP, crossing my fingers. And as if on cue, right after I've sealed the deal, you unveil the treasure trove - the precise face-off of snow-conquering tech I was seeking. It's like discovering the final clue of a treasure hunt after you've already called it quits.
Yet, thanks to your timeless nuggets of insight, I've become a snow-vanquishing hero in my own little corner of suburbia. KiteArmy, you're the blizzard-wrangling sage, the oracle of the flakes - and even when I doubt I've earned your just-in-time wisdom, you swoop in like Santa on Christmas Eve.
In your honor, my driveway and a few of my neighbors' are now as slick as a Zamboni's masterpiece. Keep up the stellar work, because even when the clock's off (my bad, not yours!), your guidance cuts through the ice like a freshly-sharpened blade. Cheers to you, KiteArmy - with a salute and an amicable snowball! 🤘🌨️👍
OMG OMG OMG -this comment even impressed my wife (something I struggle with). Kudos to the witty wordsmith behind this gem!!! If you wrote this comment without a little help from AI, consider yourself hired!
I like those snow blowers but I would rather stay indoors eating BIG bags of gourmet popcorn. Cool video! (no pun intended)
Easy on that popcorn - it will do murder to your waistline.
I will try not to eat too much of the BIG bag.

How do these stack up against ryobi 40v similar offerings?
Thx
I have never tested a Ryobi, but I can say the build quality just does not compare and the EGO has 32volts more power
Ego is far better than Ryobi. Toro is even better. Especially their snowblower line. They use tried and true parts from the gas lines and part can be had from their extensive dealer network. Can’t say that about Ego et. al.
Thanks for the comps.
Glad you liked it!
Andrew, When is the Ego Pressure Washer test video coming?
you mean the snow maker? Hold tight it's on the way!!
Late to the party but will any of the units clear a 330 foot driveway with a decent hill? I have most of the ego power heads and weed wacker and 2 chain saws. Love ego and would like an alternative to the chains on my diesel grasshopper ripping up my driveway. I am having a new asphalt drive put in next week.
The 28" would work perfectly - I was surprised how powerful it is
The auger was never really challenged. Here in North Dakota, we deal with a lot of DEEP overnight snow fall.
I get that - this was our biggest snowfall of the year
@@Kitearmy I wish we would stop getting 3-5+ feet of snow every year. 😜
I just purchased the Ego snt2416 xp, can’t wait to use it
How well does the rubber auger-propelled one pull? Will it pull uphill? I see there is also a steel auger variant. What's the difference?
It does okay - but I still think if you have large snow totals that you should consider the 2-stage,
The auger-propelled version allows the auger to contact the ground to help pull it along and clean to the pavement, where the steel auger version doesn't and relies on a scraper to clear the pavement.
The 2-stage models will always be the champs when clearing the plow pile at the end of the driveway, but if you live in suburbia and have a relatively small driveway (or have limited space to store a snow blower), I recommend the steel auger single stage unit as long as you don't have regular large snowfalls. I have the original 21" rubber paddle model which is not self-propelled, and I absolutely love it for everything up to about 6-8" of snow. It's so light and easy to maneuver, and for small/medium snowfalls I think it works great.
The only place the original single-stage could improve is the plow pile at the end of the driveway. This is where I think the steel auger model might be the sweet spot, as it should bite through the more dense snow/ice better than the rubber paddle model.
Having said all that, if you do see larger snowfalls and you can't get to cleaning right away and need to tackle a large plow pile at the end of the driveway, the dual stage models will absolutely be better. They will be slow and cumbersome everywhere else, but they make up for it when that pile is deep and heavy, or it's had a chance to freeze a bit before you get to it. The dual stage should also be a consideration if you are less able to push the lighter models against some heavy resistance. I recommended the two-stage 24" model to my neighbor who's a smaller guy in his 70's.
I hope that helps.
yeah the rubber auger on the auger propelled does a good job cleaning down to pavement@@superspeeder
Im considering the 28in for my big driveway. My question is will the 12ah batts work/fit in other tools from ego.
Yeah - they are a bitch in the string trimmer
Andy, check out the new line from Toro, the Toro 60V 24" SnowMaster Snow Blower single stage is going really push EGO to up the single stage line i think.
Do you think it's worth upgrading my EGO Gen 1 rubber paddle unit? I've had it now I think 7 years? Batteries still going strong, as well as the machine. Love the battery machines.
If it works for you I would not upgrade - unless you would consider a 2-stage. They are amazing
Looks like you’ve got all smooth blacktop there, that’s like clearing linoleum! Cement driveways with lots of cracks will work totally differently. I hear a lot of bad reviews of the 21” ramming into cracks & cracking parts.
the 21" is single stage. ALL single stage units will have issues with uneven cracks and joints.
Nice video andrew
Glad you enjoyed it
You should of tried them in the snow. That light dusting probably would of blown away on its own.
Electric and single stage are fine for the dusting many call "snow." Where I live, you only see gas powered 2-stage and even some 3-stage blowers. Electric and single are never seen around Buffalo. Buy what you need, for the conditions you have. We use leave blowers for the stuff a powered snow shovel would handle... LOL. (I'd certainly consider an electric if I lived elsewhere.)
Why dont they offer a belt driven snow blower?
20" of snow in 24 hours isn't abnormal in my situation. I'd like to compare the 28" blower to my 33" gas powered one. But given that clearing my driveway already takes an hour with the 33" I doubt the electric could do it on a single charge. I'm not sure about other people, but if I'm going out to clear snow, I want to get it over and done with and not have to go back out later after waiting for batteries to recharge.
With all that being said, I am also of the variety of people that is perfectly fine stripping a gas engine down to its last nut and bolt if I have to in order to repair it myself. My hobby is collecting thrown out small equipment and repairing them to sell, so that's not gonna be everyone's cup of tea.
Looks like we getting a couple new snow removal tool upgrades :)
Idk why they dont add motorized wheels to the single stage
the auger propelled does a pretty good job
Honestly, my man, with an inch of snow you're just better off with a wide snow shovel. Need to see how they perform with at least 6+ inches of snow.
most of the video was shot with about 5-6"
@@Kitearmy it that what you tell your wife ?
you can do better than that@@b4tparodies526
Would be nice to hear the sound each makes without jazzy noise dubbed over.
2:16 45 foot throwing distance... lolol nooooooo
probably depends on the snow type. I would say this was about 25-30ft but the 28" was dep throwing 60ft
Until, unfortunately, when one of those expensive batteries die. Then you will be paying out again. I wonder how the multi tool shovel is on your back?..I have the brush, which I love, but is so front bottom heavy that your back hurts.
It is a little front heavy - but it does a darn good job of throwing snow
The snow shovel is heavy. It's like the tiller attachment. With that amount of weight the ergonomics are terrible. I got a shoulder injury from using the tiller attachment. I bought the Darwin's Grip to go with these heavy attachments and it is much better. The weight is better distributed and more importantly it keeps your back and shoulders straight and square.
I had trouble with the broom attachment - this was not as bad@@jamie8917
Your face when the video started made me shit bricks
Thanks - I look like a caveman
These are the same price as a snow plow for your truck or suv which you can do in 5-10 min. I do t understand why anyone would use a snow blower
The handheld one will be the workout of your life. It'll get stuck every 5 seconds rendering it completely useless in harder snow even if its under 3 inches
Batteries just dont last long in mower so i dont trust these to last
I have tested other brands that have that problem - EGO batteries go the distance for me
Ego snowblower is garbage. I have the 2 stage 24" that is just wonderful in 2-5" of light powder. Worthless in 4-5" wet snow even at 23 degrees. I just finished hand shoveling my 120'l x 20'w driveway because the EGO failed again. Batteries fully charged and repaired a broken clip in the drive shaft. Still failed. Hey, I'm 73 years old with a heart stent and my right shoulder is shot and I was able to finish my driveway in just a little longer than with the EGO. Go figure. Just shows how light the snow was.
Thanks for the comment - it does depend on the models you have. The older ones don't have the power of the new versions. Good to hear that you are still able to do it at 73
-- Each to their own. And thumbs up. I just can't get with the price and 70 percent more overall pollution electric creates over gas. I need the run time and the reliability of gas. And your numbers are wrong. I've used the Ego 24 with 2 10 amp batteries. I can't clear 3, 2 car driveways with that, with the power dialed down. And the batteries wear strikingly fast, even after a year.
We're starting to see small engines (Husq is doing it now) running EFI. That'll put this electric vs gas debate to bed, until the battery technology catches up. Electric motors, awesome. The idea of electric, awesome. Have plenty of cordless tools, RC cars and drones. But you start getting into an area where you need say a 200cc gas motor and up, the batteries for electric just aren't there yet.
And I don't like how most of these batteries are derived from forced labor.
I run a 212cc Husq ST224, a mid level thrower. Overkill but for two things. I live on a corner and you know what the plow truck does to corner houses. And second, both my neighbors are elderly, so I service at least their sidewalks and plow-in. No way in hell I'm doing that with any of these EGOs. And they're a great company. Have some of their battery banks/inverters/converters.
Nothing but plastic crap. My neighbor has the 24 inch. It won’t make it through the end of the driveway where the plow piles it up. I had to go over and clear it with my 20 year old Ariens 24. Told him to bring it back and get a Honda. Batteries just don’t have the run time. BTW. For all you tree huggers out there go look up images of a lithium mine on google. It may change your mind about all the hype about batteries.
They are about to have solid state batteries - can't wait for that!
It was the opposite for me. My neighbors struggle plowing their driveway after wet or heavy snowfall with their two stage gas snow blower. I would plow my three garage driveway and then their three garage driveway. I have the two stage 24" ego snow blower with two 10 amp batteries and two 7.5 amp batteries as backup. The best part is that I don't smell like gasoline after plowing. Also, I can plow middle of the night without disturbing my neighbors sleep since it is much quieter than gas blowers.
I live in Minnesota and my 34” goes through anything. I think you’re full of shit.
What happened to his face?
This is just silly, don't call something Godzilla when it's not! You are like a Mazda, zoom zoom person, thinking they are quick... lol *sigh* 😕 EV blowers can make sense to a point...after that, in SNOWMAGEDDON, it is GAS and TRACKS all the way baby!!! :D Please don't mislead people to think they are covered when they may not be. You have ALOT of SNOW!!! Ariens, Toro and Honda (if you can find it) WITH TRACKS will crush this garbage! So it's NOT Godzilla! :D
The snow shovel is absolutely useless in heavy snow or wet snow
I sold mine
I was surprised at how well it worked - I would consider the snow I tested it on as wet
Maybe weed whacking or hedge trimmers they fine. But for snow it’s gas all the way. Long live the normal gas engine and power. Do your research. These things suck.
If you don't know what you're doing, maybe?
I disagree. My 24” goes through absolutely anything and I never have to fiddle with it. Gas is for degenerates or broke boys.
@@theskeptik1 or people with too much time on their hands or who enjoy repairing and maintaining gas engines
Way overpriced compared to gas, not as long run time, lots of plastic, no power, your snow blower won't work. No local dealer support to fix or warranty these. A battery dies or explodes you're out hundreds of dollars and potentially a new house if it catches on fire. Diminished run times in very cold weatner. Dont believe in tne hype. Not to mention mining and producing these batteries is actually worse for the environment, too.
Lots of errors in this comment. But I know the truth will not change your mind. BTW - gas is explosive.
There is some truth to the negative comments about battery but mostly outdated. My guess is that these people have several battery operated hand tools in their workshop which outperform their old electric tools and how many of these batteries exploded? Their cell phone which is carried on them uses a lithium battery. Lots of inaccuracies from a gas die hard. All things to consider as long as the information is up to date and accurate. A lot has changed. To each his own.
Right - everyone is entitled to an opinion - but an opinion and fact are sometimes different@@jamie8917
You’re definitely paying more for convenience with these machines. Having said that, and owning both OG versions of the 21” single stage and 24” dual stage, these are VERY convenient to own. No gas, no oil changes and no maintenance are definitely worth something to most people. Leave the batteries indoors until you’re ready to use them and there’s zero cold weather capacity or performance loss.
For residential driveways in town, the 21” steel auger would probably be the best choice overall - the single stage Egos are very light and very easy to maneuver, and the steel auger should chew through the icy plow pile better than the rubber augers can. That’s my single complaint about the original 21” model I own. Other than that it’s been great.
Bro, literally iust got done watching Fox News and came to give us his Ted Talk...😂😂😂
Plastic battery junk
No you’re not. Nice for fake snow. But those toys no matter how big , can’t and won’t handle my street snowplow stuff. I would need a dozen batteries just to make a dent. I’m all for the environment but not when it kills me to do it. Areins gas powered all the way.
How about showing how effective they are in at least 10" of snow. Pretty much anybody could have moved those flakes with a regular shovel !
You get what mother nature gives - I would say this was about 5-6"
