Earlier, the Labout party used to take anti India/ pro Pakistan stand in respect of Kashmir, and also anti Israeli/pro Palestinian stand, when Jeremy Corbin was it's leader,while they were in opposition. This is also because of many of it's members hailed from Pakistani origin. Before the election, there was a leadership change in Labour ,to give it a neutral image & to gain centrist's votes. Now the financial condition of Britain & for that matter the entire Europe including that of Germany which is Europe's largest economy, is very weak to take an anti India stand on any issue. Moreover, the entire Europe is suffering due to Russia- Ukraine war.
When the Conservatives were in power,they enthusiastic to forge a free trade agreement with India ,as they are in need of it more than India, but it could not happen due to hard bargaining by India. The new Govt will not dare to take any decision to antogonise Indian sensitivities.
