Definitely a nice thorough explanation on the range finder use. I borrowed one once, but I decided my hands were shaking too bad to be effective. With your hints I would be willing to try it again. Thank you,
I enjoyed this tutorial on golf range finders. Ive noticed through selling range finders for sportsman that not all range finders are a forgiving as others. The ergonomics of the unit greatly helps to steady your hand to eye to target. I advised that this feature is one of the most important things to consider when purchasing a range finder. All the bells and whistles are useless if you cant steady the unit, not to mention frustrating. 😊
Hello and thank you for your great vids. Your putting tips have vastly improved my putting. I set a timer and do the circle drill and lag putting practice at around 3 times weekly. What a difference! Aaaand, I switched to a balanced putter.
Excellent information, ive spoken to a few retail sales folk , no where near this detailed explanation. I'm returning to golf in my retirement, all the tech in new forest,, babe in the woods. I did have a distance card in the past , i'm working on getting the swing back now . sort that detail out and i'll start on a new DC , slide rule and tape , old school.
Thanks so much for this information. Getting my distances, per club, on varying length swings is my 2024 priority. Never done that before, have a range finder but rarely pack it due to the unknown of club carry in my bag. Yeah, we DON'T hit as far as we like to think! ✌
Years ago, I built Range card like you show. However, I was not bright enough to build the swing variations into the card like you have done. Dang! More homework for me now.
Size of Swing...I have 10 different sizes (feels) of swing for each club except driver..,.only 1 swing for me with that,. For a long time, I only had 1/4, 1/2, 3/4 and full swing...but over time I developed and carded 10 different size swings that are exactly the same swing but smaller or larger so the ball carries more or less, There's nothing magic or quantifiable about the size it's mostly feel, but I know that for me a size 5 sand wedge/60 degrees carries 45 yards and a size 6 carries 51.
@@misteroneputt well I bought a new rangefinder last month. I haven’t used on in about 20 years. It seems pretty simple however every time I tried to use it a shadow would come across part of the lens making the reading impossible. I thought maybe I dropped it and damaged something internally. When I was leaving the course a few days ago I asked the pro there if he could take a look at it. He pointed it at the pin and said this reads really fast. The problem was I was pointing the finder and directly touching my skin around my eye. It was a simple fix as he showed me you need to hold it slightly away from eye. Embarrassing but worked perfect and fast. 🤣
Your suggestion for measuring the carry of each club seems impossible. No way a person could hit a ball (especially with a long club) grab the rangefinder and mark where the ball landed. Even if you had a friend trying to mark your shots, most ranges are littered with hundreds or thousands of balls at any given time - like I said, impossible. I’d suggest paying for an hour on a simulator would be the simplest and most accurate way to know club distance.
Pretty positive you are butchering the name of a company that sent you free gear. Its “mil” essey….not “mile” c. Furthermore, you talk about ppl slowing play then tell them to make a card with 35 diff options and variations of what to hit. Thats about as backwards as you can get.

Hope you have great success

great vid! I’m gong to re-read the manual of my range finder to make sure I’m getting full use of all the features. Beautiful course, btw!

Much appreciated 😊
Will watch second part this part was great

email me and I'll send you my yardage card
Just bought one so this is timely as well as helpful.
Thanks, very useful. I didn't realize that I could also record half swing etc.
@@prvniposledni3619 using a half swing method is certainly harder with some swing styles but yes it is very helpful to do that
I like the tip of using the cart for stability❤ thank you

If you'll email me I'll send you mine...It's in an apple spreadsheet if that helps...then you can just plug in your numbers or have a sample
Great information . I like the idea of making a range card. Will have to do that this year.
Yes knowing the club/swing yardage is so helpful
Great tips on getting steady
Very good info. Watched both parts. Enjoyed it very much ty.
Great content and helpful!!😊
Finding your range for clubs on a driving range is near impossible…
Thank you that helped when using a rangefinder
Enjoyed the video.
Need to put together your card, great advice
email me and I'll send you mine as a template or sample
Good info. Thx Mr.OP.
Good video
Thank you
Great tips. Thanks.
What do you think of the Red Tiger rangefinder?
I think it is very good for the money. There are lots of good ones without spending big $.
@@misteroneputt thank you so much for the quick response!
As my g.p.s. watch is fading fast , a range finder could be my next option.
Great video
appreciate the info.
Good suggestion to just measure carry since roll varies.

what does the #'s 1-10 on yardage card mean?

Winner!!!
Thank you
"Most golfers don't know how to use a range finder " LMAO
Thanks
And 1 and 1 is 2. It's not complicated.
Advice don’t put the finder pressed up to your eye. It will give you a shadow. Ask me how I know 🤷♂️

Agree it is difficult and a simulator is much better

Possibly. They didn’t send a pronunciation guide
And slow players play slow. I can assure from experience a yardage card speeds up most players
