We hired skis. As there were five of us in the car, there was no option to take skis with us, but if there were 2, possibly 3 of you, then it would be an option as you suggest
@@iainmski thank you but I tried - I think only way is to either drop down one side seat or side and middle combo seat. So best case you can squeeze two people, one being in the smaller middle seat, if your skis are short enough to fit on the one seater side. If longer skis (185+) only option is to drop down the two seater, and have one passenger ride in the back so the skis can either fit diagonally or through the middle of the front row.
May I ask what the overall time spent charging was and the associated overall cost to charge? Great to listen to the Mayor of Les 2 Alpes and his plan for a green future.
Hi Alex. That's a really interesting question. I've just been through all the receipts and the complete totals for both directions from Brighton to French Alps are 5h30m and £230. Note that we got a full free charge while in Les 2 Alpes. Also that 45 mins of that charging was before the day started, so not part of the journey as such. It just the time charging though, so 'stop time' is more as you drive in, plug in (adds a few mins for each stop). Add on 10 mins for when we had to wait once.
There is an interesting trade off between driving further and spending less time charging and faster and more time charging. Of course the former will cost you less
Where did you store the skis? Is there a way to stick them through the middle of the back seat through the arm rest?

@@iainmski Great to know, thank you! Keep up the good work

In retrospect, definitely better to have two shorter charging stops, than one long one. Once you get past 70% or so, it takes so much longer to fill.
No doubt ferries and chunnel will have chargers on board in due course
There are chargers at Calais and Folkestone, although if you're not Tesla, then limited Rapid chargers, but sure more will come
Did you hire?
This was for a press trip, so car was lent to me
