I only started watching this last year and i saw it on the shelf and didn't bother watching it cause it looked crap, but then i finally decided to watch it and god was i suprised! it's addivtive! best vampire show ever!
ERIC and Pam are my favorites too and I just LOVE Alexander Skarsgård, such an incredibly charismatic man and actor but I like the whole cast; Stephen, Anna, Ryan, Deborah, Kristin, Chris, Rutina they all are made of awesomeness!

@askarsfan2011 I am with you all the way here! I love both shows, for seperate reasons. Buffy was a groundbreaking show, in my opinion. It was the first vampire cult favourite, paving the way for other popular series. For that it will always have a special place in my heart. You can't compare them fairly. It's apples and oranges (or other fruits)
@fresh3456 an imitation of buffy the vampire slayer? no, not even close. just because sookie is a blonde like buffy doesn't mean it's ripping off buffy. their characters are even similar, nor is the storyline. true blood is just so much better, partly because it's on hbo, not upn. it's really not even fair to compare the two.

True Blood has nothing to do with Twilight. And for the record, I was a huge fan of Buffy the Vampire Slayer and remember it still today. I agree that it was a well-written and entertaining show, but I don't think liking new vampire shows takes away from my love of Buffy.
@Merima1978 they have an 8 year contract, every tv show in the US makes the regular cast sign an 8 year contract from the go. BUT that does not mean there will be 8 seasons (many tv shows have been cancelled long b4 as u know) there are lots of factors that are involved, studio, audience, budget... this just stops the regular cast jumping out to something else should the show want to continue and losing a main character can ruin it all!
@fresh3456 buffy is in a completely different league to true blood, you can't compared them both to each other. it was a great cult show that will remain a classic, but guess what? buffy has long been and gone. compared to all the other vampire related movies (twilight)/tv shows etc that are out there, true blood is one of the best. although saying that, season 4 was DREADFUL. if you don't like true blood, don't have anything to do with it.

Then Steve said "They started a religion", to which everyone laughed & Alan said "yes" (aka the scientology). I think the host then says "is Travolta involved?" but I'm not sure about that one. I hate watching interviews from these fan/screamfest gigs. I think I caught about 10% of what the actors actually said. And I could swear I heard Carrie Preston speak at one point but who would know? The person filming was too busy pointing it at Moyer! Yawn.....
I love Alan but his writing worries me, the show Six Feet Under was created by him & he killed off the main character which really made me mad so i dont trust him plus HBO series usually only go 5 seasons that worries me too which is the main reason i didnt want to watch another HBO series, i hope this one follows the books as it has so far and goes many seasons
