I was just rewatching the first episode of TailSpin and was shocked to see that one shot of Baloo walking into his home was copied near-directly from Milt's Sheriff walk. 17 years later, they were still recycling this walk cycle :P
Milt. So what's why did they reused this animation a lot of times in Robin Hood. Great one. That movie is so filled of looping and reusing animation, the amount of walk cycles is great.
They reused the animation as a way to save money and play it safe. This was shortly after Walt Disney died and the future of the company was up in the air, so the guys in charge didn't want to take any risks. They also wanted to make a profit, so recycling animation like this walk cycle was a quick and easy way to save on time.
