Good ol Glenroy station I used to catch the bell street bus from Coburg to Glenroy then go to broady by train as my sister lived there as a kid it looks so different with the upgrade I haven't seen it yet thx for the memories..
@@Schony747 yeah I'm going to have to check it out as there wasn't much parking on the pascoe vale Rd side it will be interesting to see what they've done
I was amazed they fixed the bridge over the Murray, it still has the Annett key “Tocumwal Bridge” stuck in it. My 1953 General Appendix sets out the procedures for lifting the bridge.
Australian railways are a really odd mix of British and American - always enjoy 747's content & this one provides is a really good example; US-style half gated crossing next to a station that looks straight off the British South Coast line.
Hi! You seem to be in the know on train movements.....any idea where the freights that pass through Hallam station are off to? I cant figure it out, it's driving me nuts!

Mate the upgrade is really good. The car park on The Pascoe Vale side will be even larger than the previous capacity.

It's Really Cool to see Old/G Classes, going through a new Suburban Melbourne Station
And at 1am is sounds pretty awesome
Keep up the amazing work!!😎
Thankyou mate 😀😀
nice work
Thanks for looking 😀😀
Awesome
Thanks 😀😀
Great footage, especially those freight trains :) Clever capture of your reflection in the lift as well, like it :)
Every so often I need to show my awesome face 😀😀
@@Schony747 haha !
The tocumwal freighter! It’s not an easy one to catch but is good to get on vid! Great work!
It's always after dark but the lighting is great at Glenroy
Nice video Brendan the freight trains actually look nice through the new glenroy station.
The whole station looks great mate

Like so many other bridges on the Murray such as the one at Barham
I love the triple G-class @ 18:50!!!!!!!!
Yes indeed! A classic sight and sound
awesome
Thanks 😀😀
at 19:05, is that 2 cops watching you through the windows up top ?
Yep PSO officers who patrol stations at night. Good blokes as well.
great fiootag4
Thankyou mate 😀😀
Christ! there's almost ten thousand horsepower there!!!!!
The front G on the triple boxes was off-line.

Yeah the variety of motive power up front we still get in Australia is pretty amazing!
The original glenroy station looks a lot like Croydon station
Like many others on the Melbourne network
I feel they kinda needed to add the same capacity of parking at Glenroy, but instead they halved it. And made the bus interchange smaller.
I'm sure the car park on The Pascoe Vale Road side is to be extended. I haven't been there for a while yo check the progress
Geez, we almost got a look at you in the reflection in that waiting room! (7:08)
@Neil Forbes ohhhhh thats freaky LOL
Can see him better here 8:39
@Neil Forbes the train you see here is the 1981-1988 series and yes it's still use
And...... what's everyone's opinion??? 😆🤣😂😅
@@Schony747 i am surprised they're still in use with that vintage LOL
Strange 'wiggle' in the line both sides of the station, like it's not in the right place, kind of makes fast express trains through there a problem.
Nothing fast and express with trains that run through Glenroy but I reckon the new design would cope.
How old is the green livery on the Gs
18+ years
Early 2000s would be my guess as well when V/Line freight was privatised.

Maryvale Paper Mill near Morwell. It's currently the only freight that runs there.
@@Schony747 Champion!
Why 2 lifts to get to platform 1 ?
No idea. I think platform 2 has the same. I would assume it's incase one breaks down as there is only stairs and no ramps.
Ðamn... You gotta touch on your Myki now...
Yeah barriers now at the gate 😆😅🤣😂
