Hi, everyone! Would love to know - are you a scrap collector too? Be sure to take time once in awhile to PURGE - to get rid of what you don't want and make cards with the good stuff. USE them! :) It is fun.
Hi Jenefer. I have 3 scrap drawers for large medium and small scraps. After watching this I will have to go through my paper/card recycling bag as I do throw little bits away but I need now to get them all out. Anything under half an inch I throw but here you use those little pieces. Is there a size you do actually throw away. Looks like I might have to get a bigger scrap draw. I also give bigger pieces to the charity shop or the local school. All my scrap blank card that goes into the recycling I could use if I need to do off the edge stamping. As my friend and I say, since recycling started we don't feel quite as guilty of throwing away paper/card. Luvs and Hugs xxx
Most definitely a collector! Sometimes you need just tiny piece of a pretty paper and it can be always found in a scrap pile, frugal and convenient. I love everything about quilts - making them, looking at them, lying under them, you name it - so thats what I usually do with paper and fabric scraps.
What fun!! Can’t wait to dig into my stash and play with this idea! I loved the little birthday bear! Who doesn’t have some of those whimsical stamp sets that this backround would work great with. I think this will also teach me new ways to put papers together that I didn’t think would “work” together. Thanks again Jennifer….
I am a huge scrap collector but I also use my scraps. I have my solid card stock organized by color families with a job ticket folder for the scraps for each color family. Many times I only need a small scrap for a die cut or embellishment. This way my card stock goes much further. I do the same with my printed card stock. I have used some of your earlier ideas in making card backgrounds and paper piecing with my scraps. I love this new idea. These cards are amazing! Your creativity always astounds me and I’m so glad you are willing to share them with all of us. Bless you for your beautiful spirit, Jennifer.
...love this, and all the scrap videos. It is so helpful for the mini creative hoarders in us all. We have the "beloved" paper that we will use one day, but can't seem to crack the seal and so it sits until we make the greatest card or scrapbook page for our lives. It's so silly. Purging is just brilliant, and would be so freeing. You truly are our best teacher and guide. Thanks, again Jen.
I also save all my scraps. Larger scraps go into a plastic page protector that goes in the front of my cardstock holders. Smaller scraps go into a shoebox sized container. When making a card I always check my scraps first before cutting into a new sheet of cardstock or patterned paper. I LOVE these ideas. They cards you created using scraps are fabulous. You are the most creative person out there. Thanks for sharing.
Hi Jennifer, Thank you for demonstrating such a lovely way to use all the scraps in your craft stash I thought the cards you made wear so pretty and just made out of nothing what a wonderful idea Thank you so much for taking the time to share .....all the best have a nice weekend Lin in South Wales uk 🦋 💞🐕
Another phenomenal video, Jennifer! Your creativity and resourcefulness are always so impressive. Thank you for sharing ways to use what we already own (so we can spend the money on new stamps and dies). I just wanted you to know how much you are appreciated.
I don't usually keep my tiny/thin scraps but now maybe I will and have a scrap purge creating session. These cards are great and wonderful use of all that paper. Thanks again for sharing your amazing ideas.
Fabulous card ideas. I just gave a box of my scraps to a second grade teacher so I’m cleaned out. However, it won’t take long before I more. Thank you for sharing. 🤗😊
I save all my scraps, too! I am going to use your videos to make some cards before I purge. I want to try and make a video showing the before and after scrap pile. Thanks for all your wonderful and efficient crafting ideas.
I want all of my scrapbooking and card-making friends to see this. I get teased incessantly about the fact that I keep every scrap of paper, and even have them "organized" by color. I try to use them all the time for journalling in my scrapbooks, and for greetings on my cards. But I haven't used them as backgrounds, and I am THRILLED to have your inspiration! Fast, easy, colorful cards that use up stash! Thank you!!!!
I never thought to organise my scraps by colour so will do that now and that should make life easier because I always wonder how to use my scraps, so I am truly grateful for this video.
More great ideas for using up the scraps and perfect timing because I was just getting ready to purge my scraps. Now I can use them in a creative way. Thanks.
Fun video Jennifer. Yup, I don't throw anything away; my only problem... I haven't done anything with them! Truly a Scrapaholic. Clearly, it's time to bust out the scrapbags.
Like most paper crafters I HATE to throw any paper scraps out so this video is perfect to help use up many of them. Thank you Jennifer for once again passing on some brilliant ideas. Happy crafting.
Oh yes I save all of my scraps, I go to them instead of full sheet of paper. I put lots of butterflies on my cards so the scraps are perfect, I also sort them by colors it's easier to find what I need...your cards Jennifer turned out awesome and thanks for sharing.
I have a friend who saves all of our scraps, she's known to dig thru all of our trash cans at retreats to get what we've tossed. Once she couldn't attend and I brought her back all of mine, she was thrilled. Thank you for the great ideas!
Creative ways to use scraps must be my FAVOURITEST type of craft video EVER! More, more! Loooooooved the feathers on the vellum, and the little bright, inlaid leaf. So inspiring. Thank you, Jennifer!
Yes, I AM a scrap collector... among many other things. Ha! Love all the examples - but I must say, I was so happy to see you have cutting plates that look like mine: WELL LOVED! Thank you for sharing!
I think using up extras is my favorite type of video (although I love all your videos)! One time I was organizing my craft room and as I went threw all the leftovers from Cards past in a box. Using everything I found, I think I made like 60 Cards!!! Save those leftovers!!! 😜
Loved those cards, all of them Jennifer ! Guess I do save scraps, but not all of them. Then sort by colour, put them away- and forget them. However I do have some pretty boring scraps ! Thankyou for sharing.
Super cards as always Jennifer, thank you for sharing. I can't afford the wonderful products you use,but I absolutely love watching you make so many fabulous cards. May God bless you.
Thanks Jennifer! What a gorgeous bunch of cards. You just make everything look so great when you pull it al together. Love your channel with my whole heart ❣
I am also a scrap collector. I save mine in one of those accordion accounting folders, sorted by color. It’s mostly full of solid colors but I see that I now have an excuse to save my pattern paper scraps, as well! Great ideas, thank you!
I think this is my favorite of all your videos. Thank you ... from the bottom of my scrap drawers! I'll be sure to use these techniques tomorrow during National Card-Making Day.
What a great way to use up leftover scraps. Great tip in the beginning on how you organize your scraps. Thank you for always making your videos to the point and informative!

Thank you thank you thank you, Jennifer! This is an amazing and oh so awesome inspiration for using up my scraps!! Is so appreciate it when you post videos like this. Yes i am a collector of scraps. I too have the mindset that i might just need that one day. I love your videos reminding us of ways to use them up and i do exactly that, so a sincere thanks for that. T x
Love LOVE L O V E this video ! I too save the scraps .. and I DO use them.. I have them organized by color or color family for ease when I am needed something specific. SO often I have needed just a tiny bit of .. ."something" .. and found exactly what I needed by going through my "stash" A tiny bit of pink for a few tiny die cut hearts .. things like that.. I do save card stock and paper as well... Also the sacrificial card and paper that goes behind something I am spattering or tiny die cuts I am painting.. I get some really interesting scraps this way.. I HATE needing just a bit and then needing to cut into a full sheet of card stock ! : ) So often the scraps that have been saved, when put together in a new way , creates something I never would have thought about until I pull all the "stuff" out and just start to put random things together .. It saves money.. and it is a ton of fun ! Plus, the end results are usually really unique .. In fact I used this very method creating my Halloween cards this year.. the spatter catching sheet turned out to be the perfect background for the interior sentiment to be stamped on then die cut with a stitched rectangle die. I had enough for 6 card interiors ! hmm.. I do go on.. LOL ... Again, Loved the video !!
OMG!! You never stop coming up with great ways to stretch your supplies!! I actually just made a bunch of alcohol ink backgrounds and haven't cut them up yet for cards. I will definitely be saving the little slivers for other card creations!!
Jennifer thank you so much. Absolutely love these cards. Every time I watch your videos I learn something. I’ve been following you for years. I still always learn something. Thank you & blessings.
I save lots of scraps too I can't throw anything away especially those distress oxide inked pieces, they are all so lovely and usable! thanks for another great video, love love love that first feather card x
