The Book of Clarence is directed by Jeymes Samuel and stars an ensemble cast including Lakeith Stanfield, RJ Cyler, Omar Sy, Teyana Taylor and many more. Theres been lots of hype surrounding this movie in regards to the question Is it art or is is damaging to Christianity? As a movie review who is also Christian O I give my review and take on how this movie dabbles into the fictionalized telling of the lives of people living when Jesus was alive.

i realized when you started talking about the inaccuracies and how they were from clarences perspective that it would’ve been an unreliable narrator given that the idea he has at the end of the movie with the lightbulb might’ve been to tell his story and that’s what they film is

Yea that was sorta my take away by the end too which made it a nice up swing mood of an ending

It definitely was a collage of biblical references to tell a story about a fictional character. As a Christian I enjoyed the many references but still kept the idea it’s still fiction.
