    Great video kind of surprising that Kawi cant design the spring to attch. Should we upgrade to a magnetic drain plug?

      Buy some small neodymium magnets and put one on the bolt after you torque it down. I put them on every piece of equipment I own. Every regular oil filter gets them too including my other bikes, cars, tractors lawnmowers etc.

    The spring is stupid. They couldn't have drilled a little hole and bent the end of the spring 90 degrees so you could stick it in the block and have it hang in place?

    New to small engines, What kind of grease should be used, the manual is pretty vague. Auto zone has bearing grease, would this be sufficient?

    • @501speedinc5
      @501speedinc5  2 года назад +1

      Yep! Anything that's relatively thick will work fine. You won't need to use much of it

    So I have a question I am used to two stoke bikes and this is my first four stroke bike. And I know this sounds pretty bad but I forgot that it needs oil changes and I waited tell about 8 hours to do an oil change and I have owed it for about a year. The level on it is on the lowest level. But there is still some oil in it. Do you think that my bike is going to be completely messed up

    • @aaronlook3550
      @aaronlook3550 3 года назад +1

      No but you really should have changed it after an hour or two of use. Make sure you replace it with a good quality oil and filter ASAP.

    • @501speedinc5

      Your bike will be fine bud. Stay on top of those oil changes though

  • @RedboneUnincorporated

    Did you also change the oil in the shock and forks,(the book indicates we should) after the break in period?

    • @501speedinc5
      @501speedinc5  2 года назад +1

      Negative. I'll probably run a thicker fork oil soon. I'm 50+ hours in on this bike

      @@501speedinc5 I had an issue that had to be taken care of at the dealership under warranty shortly after this comment, directly after I bought the bike, and I asked them about the oil change and they laughed at me.
      I don't have an hour counter, but I must have close to 100 hours by now, and I've done nothing for the suspension other than stiffen the front.

      It is tough to find since it has a newer model to find exact fit graphics, my dealer is looking into it and there is a Custom Graphics Company that you can order from. I've heard KX250 graphics we'll fit almost perfect but I really don't know. Check moto sport..

      @@501speedinc5 yeah, when you go on there.. I think it makes you put in a 450.. but the site + the company knows its for the KLX300R when you click it.. And on checkout in the memo / reciept itll say for the KLX 300, and then they go and make em specific for that bike. I got mine in the mail and it was exact. Perfect fit.
