Merlin's gift in the story of Arthur was he gave Arthur his power to allow him to defeat his demons.
Most don't realize that they are disassociating and not integrating. Integration allows one to let go to allow for healing and forgiving of self. Disassociating keeps one trapped in the cycle of constantly trying to destroy aspects of oneself that truly can't be destroyed but only accepted. On this plane of existence reality is played out through freedom of choice. Being whole allows one to achieve balance and choose to make mindful choices through intentions in life instead of allowing life to make the choices for them.
The confusion begins as soon as we enter this plane of existence. We're taught to be ourselves and use our imagination as a child and then told to assimilate and be part of the real world as an adult. Some spend a lifetime trying to achieve a balance of the two as we return to that childlike state in our elder years. Reconnecting allows one to have that balance now, that in turn affects all aspects of our existence. The magic happens when we realize that we no longer have to move mountains because the mountains already know to move! Good luck. 🙏❤️🙏
I definitely feel this. To piggy back off of what you said about disassociating and not integrating, people often times fall into the trap of trying to destroy aspects of themselves that are merely expressing themselves a certain way because that's how you've learned how to cope. A chronic liar for example learned to lie because somewhere in their childhood that how they were able to survive, but as they get older and move themselves out of that environment than it becomes necessary to reeducate that aspect of ourselves, not destroy it, because at the end of the day that part is still us. The same energy we use to lie, we can use to tell the truth. Heck, I'd even say now that you've gone through the experience of lying you can now catch it in others as well as strategically lie, if you ever needed to do it again.
All parts of ourselves serve a purpose. The trick to game is recognizing that purpose, giving it a voice if possible and accepting what it's been trying to protect you from. I'm not saying that we should enable ourselves, no, it's more like reparenting ourselves with new information, updating the aspects that may have been created when you ten, with new understandings and revelations at 25. It's not always a quick fix either. Sometimes you have to let yourself do dumb shit, but from an awareness of compassion and understanding rather than shame. And what makes it even more fun, is that when you get good at it, you allow yourself to feel shame, rather than trying to always intellectualize it. It's ok to feel what you feel. It's not ok to deny what you feel/let it control you or to forcefully keep yourself in that negative loop. Ultimately that's ok to because it's what you're currently choosing to do.
There is a quote from my favorite movie Frequency, where the main antagonist, if you can even call him that, challenges the known axiom of the world. It's believed that frequency determines destiny. If I remember correctly, he believed and proved that it was "knowledge that determines destiny", which he alone learned how to control the world around him. The more we accept and know ourselves the malleable the world around us becomes. As a youtuber named Edward Art often says.. There is nothing to change, but Self. The external world follows the changes made on the inner world. The Magician knows this and thus begins that delicate dance mentioned in the video. If you've read this far, thank you. Frequency, vibration, energy, and mind are so many things we've been given to explore, yet so many aren't recognizing the experience when presented to them. This is an amazing journey that I wouldn't change one second of it. The funny thing is I didn't always feel this way, but when we do, we realize that everything is as it should be at the moment, and tomorrow is what we make it. The idea is that these character types (archetypes) are baked into the human psyche, and that's why they're featured in stories since the beginning of human history.
When you have power it slowly increases, when you give it to others. If you become selfish at the cost of others, your power will start to fade making you weak!

Everything is accurate. From my personal experience all you described is exactly what a magician is. But I quit all of this. Dealing with the energy and all the entitys was to much after 25 years.
