Honest Take: I loved my original Narawl Freo, and Narwal somehow made it even better with the Freo X Ultra. To sum it up, it cleans better and gets less dirty itself. My only gripe, because of the extra sensitive sensors, it can think mats are objects of obstruction and skip it on the first pass.
I bought a mid-tier roomba several years ago and thinking of upgrading now. Very nice to see the app mapping the actual house. Is that a thing that many robots can do these days. I am curious to understand what Narwal brings to the table that other makers do not, as the brand is relatively new to me.
“Caaaaaaaaarl!” I feel I know why exactly why you named your robovac that. :). Hopefully you’ll need a new name with this model.. I would love to see more on the cord avoidance capabilities and even how it handles a wayward piece of homework, etc. I have the same concerns with the littles leaving their belongings about the house and with scheduling cleanings. Also, how much dirt you see the bags can handle + hair [non-]tangling on the brush. Finally, I saw in an Asian review before the US release that both bagged and bin options are available in the box. Hoping that’s the case in the US as well? Thanks for the video!
So I would say with cord avoidance, it’s a mix bag, either it avoids it completely or when it senses that it messing with a cord, it bails out from that spot pronto. Been using this for a couple of weeks and not once did I come out seeing it stalled other furniture or because something got jammed. That was a frequent occurrence with the Freo, so of course I had to prep the area before hand. It all ends up in the bag which is crazy!! I’m not used to that. Yes, in the box comes with 3 plastic bags and the normal bin option.
The q revo is a little better i feel like. Also come april they are releasing the new version, which sounds insane with the amount of tech they put into it and keeping it sub 1k$
Would love an update in the coming weeks to learn three things 1- if the tangle free brush does in fact remain tangle free? 2- how long-lasting is the dust compression solution before you need to dispose the bag? 3- does the X Ultra keep the name Carl or does he/she get a new name?
Any advice you can provide?. We just got ours yesterday and I spent a solid 2 hours trying to complete set up. I keep getting wrong wifi password. I know it’s not the password l tested with multiple device. Narwal is the only one having an issue.
I remeber years ago, when testing the Narwal Freo, the password didn’t allow for a certain character that was in my wifi password, I think the $ sign. I think I had to change my password on my router again that was years ago, not sure if that’s what you are going through.
I've been super interested in the Freo X Ultra, as I've heard it has the best mopping available, and I like the clean design of the docking system. But my home is all hardwood flooring, and I have a cat. I can't help but wonder if the dust collection is too small. So I find myself debating between this one and the Dreame l20 . >.

i prefer having a dust bin instead of a disposal bag which only adds more cost
It comes with a dustbin so you can either use a bag or use the dust bin.😊
