If all you do is play the latest release of madden, don't really do anything else or engage in any discourse, you're not a gamer, you just play madden. At the end of the day, my criteria to be a gamer is usually if someone would know about you, not personally but effectually. My mother is known by the devs and her clan members. The devs feel her effect because she does leave feedback and complaints. Sure she's just a number, but at least they KNOW about the number. So if you play every Age of empires games, preorder them or play the multiplayer, 100% the campaigns or stick around to play skirmish, you're a gamer. You talk about the games you play, you interact with others in games or around games, you're a gamer. But if you *just* play games, nothing else.
