They did about a dozen of them back in the late 80's, and some got reimagined for WFC Trilogy. I still have the two guys who combine into a shuttle.
My favourite part of DOTM is when Mudflap said "It's revengin' time!" and revenged all over Sentinel.
As indifferent as I am towards these two I find it hilarious how much love Hasbro gave these two during the ROTF/HFTD run. Out of all the releases the Human Alliance ones are still my favorite, but this one still has the best novelty alt mode. The first and only Ice cream truck I think Hasbro has ever given us. Transformed them I think once than immediately back to truck mode as they were some of fiddley and underwhelming bot modes I think Hasbro has ever produced. That said Studio Series Voyager please.
I'd call it the "jar jar effect" where they highly premoted a character before the film came out, only for them to wind up being hated

For real though, kinda disappointed they weren't in dotm. Love they had a heroic sacrifice in the original script for that. Maybe Third party will make SS figures of them.

I want a Legacy version of these guys. Have an ice cream truck that transforms into two robots, but otherwise have them be nothing like the RotF characters.

My only problem with the twins in the movie was that they were incredibly loud in an incredibly loud movie so it got tiresome quickly. But the biggest character issue was Leo not the twins lol.
Leo was a whole lot worse than the twins for real😂

I'm black and I loved Skids and Mudflap I heard a lot people saying it was racist because they couldn't read the language of Primes which would be an ancient language to them I guess it would be like me trying to read Egyptian hieroglyphics but I like G.I. Joe also and we can never get a hooded Cobra Commander again either I mean damn Cybertron can't have a hood
I like the idea of twins. I like the idea of two robots joining in altmode. But everything was set up against them. Their designs, their voices, their attitudes... nothing was likeable. I hope they get some sort of redemption later down the line.
I think they're better off being forgotten.
I just wished the movies didnt effect the toys😢
The most basic nature of their template was alright: a pair of junior bots babysat by an "older kid" bot, perhaps the previous kid appeal bot.
Everything else they added onto that template is the problem.

Say what you will about the twins, this was a decent idea and interesting spin on the whole combiner thing and even if they don't make a studio series figure of this I hope they revisit the idea for a modern pair of transformers who combine in vehicle mode.
Like I stated in the last review for Skids ... I love these two !!! Since I saw it in Spanish growing up the stereotypes where gone and they gave us some actually funny characters ... I love them !

For me when I first saw them they are like Brothers fighting against them self . Sadly we never seen them grow Maturely . And the other half I have no idea that people where Offended.
Personally I love this toy, still have it to this day. Also while I do understand why they want to avoid them I still think they should make ss figures of them, I don’t get SS figures but I do feel that some fans would want them for a full collection. Just pretending that they don’t exist doesn’t change what happened, they have already acknowledged that they were in bad taste so just make toys of them but don’t mention their terrible personalities, maybe don’t even include a bio.
I also have the toy still but since I was a dumb kid I broke it.
I remember seeing the scene where they drive separately in the movie when I was a kid but I always thought it was something I imagined because I never saw it again after that, which is so strange

Look, I get that they're controversial, but I gotta say, we need figures of them. there are people that don't mind them being controversial. I say that they can and should release them, and the people who don't want them just simply don't need to get them.
You're missing the point though. They are never going to release Studio Series versions of these two. And for good reason. They were racist caricatures. It doesn't matter that there are some people who didn't mind them being racist or even liked them. They do not deserve to be represented in toy form today.
I wonder why there hasn’t been a third party company to tackle these.

Why didn't Hot Rod in the fifth movie get canceled because of his "cartoon" French accent? Why wasn't Prime canceled for his "excessive" cruelty towards the Decepticons? And besides, I didn't see anything in the movie that made them seem racist or something like that. It feels like a schmuck started up in the Hazbro company, who didn’t like something about them and therefore demanded that they be canceled, and the rest of the people in this company, as a collective mind, supported this idea. Well, what the hell?
I have to agree that these two together are cool asf.....it just sucks that it was them....never seen it before, but now I want em.
Still some of the best characters to come out of the Transformers films, at least in my opinion.

I remember loving these characters while growing up, and still remember them up to this day. I would love to have Chevy Sparks in my collection. Specially the concept arts for DOTM.
I’ll just say I like them and think they’re funny. I like me a comedic duo like them when done alright. Sure I can see why people may find them offensive, but I’m sure there’s more offensive characters in media out there.
Side note: I don’t think the line about them not being able to read was MEANT to be racist, Wheelie and presumably Bumblebee couldn’t read the Cyberglyphics either, but who knows, it’s a Michael Bay movie.
I didn't think that was racist either. I equated it with like 95% of the people today being asked to read hieroglyphics.

@@DJPrimeAmvs they did indeed say that. However, I've heard some people say they were made out to be illiterate. Some indicated that they do have the ability to read. I think the whole thing got blew way out of proportion.
I love how these two were shit talking Demolisher while literally soloing him AFTER he already tried to devour them. They weren't afraid of NOTHING and even laughed in the face of death!
I recently got these guys and personally I really enjoy flipping back in forth between modes. Would recommend getting toyhax stickers ;) (Also I added wheels to the bottom of Skids’ feet for better accuracy) Good studio series stand ins overall.
I remember these guys. Yeah,I understand WHY people didn't like them. I just thought the whole personality choice was out of place in general. With that said, I would LOVE to have these guys simply for the ice cream truck mode

Honestly this toy was on my wishlist as a kid and still on my wishlist now im eagerly waiting for a studio series toy despite most of the fandom don't like these guys i liked them they we're pretty funny in the movie and i deeply enjoy the complex transformations their toys had i really need to add them to my collection soon

While I recognize their faults, I have a lot of nostalgia for those specific toys. They were some of my first transformers. Hell, I loved them so much I bought two, One to keep as a truck and one to have in their robot modes.
I found skids and mudflap funny because the way they fight and argue is relatable
I played with this figure(s) SO much back in the day... one of many. I had so many shitty toys, but didn't stop me from playing with them.
I remember loving these two so much when i has them. It was just so cool to have transformers that combined in one vehicle. The fact that it was an icecream truck made it more fun lol. Got them from a three pack with demolisher
You know, if they had actually made it too dotm and were able to go through an arc that led to their heroic sacrifices, their characters could have had a little redemption, however, this is the bayfilms we're talking about. They wouldn't know cohesiveness if it slapped them in the face. I just wish we got a more comparable Skids to how he was originally being a "theoretition" instead of a racial sterotype

I always loved the twins ever since I saw the movie for the first time. I quote them like all the time. I genuinely think they are hilarious. I also have a friend who talks exactly like them.

I always liked the character designs of these two with the big chests and kinda stumpy legs, and the way they combined into one car when they were the ice cream van. It’s too bad they are marred in controversy because as a visual representation of a Bay Era autobot, they really are like quintessential representations of that overly human-like face and unique colors even in both vehicle scans
I definitely haven't seen or heard anything of them driving in half, though their alt mode prop is seen splitting in half in the final film, though it doesn't look like it does so in such a way that there could be a shot of them still driving afterwards.
Edit: The Skids half is seen to be still "driving" a bit after they split. Is this what you mean? Otherwise, I don't believe such a scene exists.

I literally do not care what they said, I'm not a wuss about it. Don't care if they said racist, offensive, or anything kind of words, who tf cares, and if you really care that bad, you needa chill and get your emotions in check. I thought they were great haha.
Oh yes, if you ever want to see the actual Ice Cream Truck, they have (or had) it at the Peterson Automotive Museum in LA, was super cool to see it in person.

I remember getting these figures twice as a kid. Both times I had to have them returned because the clear pegs that held the ice-cream truck together sheered clean off when trying to separate them.

When you first split them apart they actually remind me of these cars that could split apart and be put together in different ways I don't remember what they were called though but I do remember there was a Baja Bug and a limousine that actually had three parts instead of two but I do agree that they need to do more Transformers like that though and if they decided to redesign the characters to not be as offensive I'd be cool with them coming back
I used to have these figures, no idea what happened to them. These two were my favorite toys when I was a kid, I thought the splitting vehicle mode was so cool.
Earlier this year I got these guys and the individual deluxe for the Twins cause I wanted a representation on my shelf of them. So when it came time to display them, I decided to have the ice cream truck twins climbing my SS Devastator and the individual twins on my Bay Autobot shelf.
I remember getting them with Demolishor in that Toysrus exclusive box set, but I've lost them since.
I have Skids and Mudflap in their combined ice cream truck mode, and love how it looks.
On the negative side, they came in a combo pack with that stupid Decepticon excavator seen at the beginning of RoTF
I had this toy, I sold it along with my other transformers collection. I will say I am getting back into it after seeing ROTB

On my bayverse shelf i have legion skids and mudflap i think them being so small compared to other bots is funny also in my headcanon they aren’t true cybertronians but they were created when the allspark did create random bots
That was the first combiner show in the life action movies, Devastator was the 2nd one lol
This is one that I really wanted, yet this is rare to find nowadays. And shame about Mudflap and Skids not getting any Studio Series figures is a big disgrace that Hasbro aren't listening to us fans.
I got this for Christmas when i was little....I hated it, but loved it at the same time.
There wasn't a scene of them driving like that,it never existed,but it is the way they transform in the movie,all copies had a split scene of them slitting in half and transforming
These two guys were my favorite in the second movie I also had them they action figures just like them they were awesome
Pretty much the only reason I love this toy is because my OC in the 2007 movie Decepticons Nintendo DS game had an icecream truck as his altmode.
The less said about the characters the better, but man oh man I love that altmode.
I like that they sounded black and i think the need to make a studio series for both of them
I doubt non transformers fans would see the twins on shelves and even remember them from the movie they havent watched since before the 2010s.
However i doubt anyone cares about them besides weirdos like me that grew up with them, i probably have more toys from them than anyone should, i have them both in the deluxe, legends and rpm (the hotwheels type ones), im not proud of it but not really regret it.

I had this toy as a kid and I really liked it. Sadly broke one of the parts that connect the 2 and it was really awkward in vehicle mode

When Revenge of the fallen was a joke in and of itself I honestly found these two to be some of the better parts of the movie
The scene you are talking about, isit that one where, while chasing sideways, the twins take a turn and because of the bacn weight the vehicle has they end up splitting and crashing into some barrels?
I have the ones from the high speed spy battle pack. Those ones look so much better than the ones in the video. Less gaudy and more rusty and darker.
When I was younger my brother had this toy and I found out if you pushed them into the wall hard enough they would come apart but I also found out a short time later that they would break if you did that.
I find it interesting how they both have visible headlights in robot mode, implying the vehicle mode has four headlights

They never had a battle mask though. And that wasn't the problem with the two. (At least not the only problem.) shatter did have a scene in the Bumblebee movie where she had that battle mask though.

I myself do not have anything to say on the topic of controversy because I don't understand what is going on with the characters. What I do remember of the two is that the reason that they liked one being red and the other being green, is because when they first got their ice cream transformation (they must have scanned it at the same time or something) they didn't like how one was in the front and the other on the back, so they always fought for the front end of the vehicle.
Even if there were going be in dark of the moon. In the tie-in comic, sentani prime would have killed them along with ironhide with the rust gun after he betrays the autobots.
I had this figure for years till a friend said I had miss transformed them making it a bit more enjoyable... Still love this figure and the characters

I like the general concept here... they just need more compact robot modes and better face sculpts (even generic looking G1 faces would be preferable). Otherwise, I dig the color scheme and the vehicle mode.
I remember the scene with them breaking apart and driving around calling out for the decepticons but don’t think it was imax exclusive cuz I didn’t see it in imax. I’ve only seen it on TV since. I’ve seen these peg warming at my local gaming/toy store.
Could you describe the iMax scene? No one who talks about the imax cut mentions that scene of the driving half and half together, they just talk about the extended forest scene. I do know there is a scene where they get split up from turning then both crash, but they only drive separately for 3 seconds

i remeber my cousin having these 2 then years later we found a broken mud flap then we tied him to a bike then rode around with his draging on the floor [ i think the reason we did that is beacouse we thought he looks ugly ] the only reason i could see getting is because the alt mode is unique can i kinda like it

I bought these two from a seller who used movie accurate stickers. Even if Hasbro ends up doing it because "we need to finish ROTF," they wouldn't have those decals. Otherwise, I hope they just bite the bullet and make the figures, like if you had to swim in a shark-infested pool to get to safety... in a film.
I actually have those toys, but I don't have them in the perfect condition unfortunately, most of their body parts have gone missing and I can't seem to find them anywhere

A deluxe class would be the ice cream mold and then there would be a deluxe priced two pack of slightly larger than core figures based on their updated forms
That's how I hope they do that too, but knowing hasbro it will most likely just be 2 really small indivdual deluxes.
If Mark doesn't want to give the twins a go, the least he could do is explain why instead of blocking people like a 12 year old

Me after seeing their scale: I literally remember Ironhide being able to squich them as a whole with just his foot. Because it almost happened on Skids during the aftermath of the forest fight after Optimus dies.

I can see them eventually doing a Studio Series version of them if they somehow shoehorn a cameo of them into a new movie, and rewrite their personalities to be not racist. Like, maybe in whatever the next Unicron movie is, we get a scene on cybertron with a handful of Autobots from the Bay movies who aren't on earth yet, and we see Skids & Mudflap looking mostly similar to how they did in ROTF, just with different heads, and less racist personalities. Then they could make a Studio Series figure of them both, and brand them as being from that new movie, and not the old one.
I enjoy them to a degree and I loved this toy as a kid
