Our ideas to what one would call a "base", are very different between you and I. I just build a house that suits my needs. Sometimes, it's a decent size, but it's usually just big enough for me.

at 2:26 I was reminded of something I never really understood the whole draw behind modernist houses like it. It was just "white with gray, and some wood". NOW I get it. The modernist base is the most basic to look at, but it takes some decent understanding of shapes and a very basic understanding of real architecture to actually build a good one. It's all of the draw of detailed, complex realism in structure, but without needing to actually put effort into the house itself to make it look all that outstanding.
