I love the doorbell idea! I just used it with my orchestra class and it worked great! Thank you for sharing.

Had my daughter watch this video, good demonstration. It made me think she should do zombie exercises or like how the dancers in the Michael Jackson Thriller video appear ;)

Critical aspect missed, as most do. Flat hair, yes or no? The answer to that changes the bow hold completely.

Extremely helpful, but does the first finger balance the weight and direction of the bow? Thanks.

I can't seem to get a solid tone out of my cello without pushing down hard into the bow. Consequently this makes my bowhand thumb cramp up and hurt, and I have to pause after like 60 seconds. I have not played enough different cellos to know if it's the cello itself, the bow, the hair, or how I'm playing that that causes the 'weak' and overtone sounds if I play too lightly. I should mention I'm using plenty of rosin. Thanks for your advice. Btw, can bowhair become worn out? Even with good rosin? My 4/4 Scheuer & Roth student model just won't 'sing' unless I really dig in. :(

Your playing is completely different than what you are teaching.
