I just bought an Estate dryer from my neighbors yard sale for $20.00. I ordered new leveling feet from Amazon and a door switch from Walmart as the dryer kept turning with door open. Should be good to go now 😊
I bought one but been hacked aome issues how can I find what motor it uses I saw some oil coming out from the bottom. Also when it needs to spin it won't do it un less I mess with it to get it to spin . I would like yo fix it myself
I just scored this vintage machine for $100. I am excited that it is working great so far!! I spent over $800 for my 2017 that just died again! Tried of paying service fees to keep repairing it!!
Are you saying the new ones aren't any good ? My daughter has an older one and says she's going to buy a new one but I said that if its old and still works that she should have it fixed if its that good of a machine .
@@WildfireLR I have had all the "new" ones and this vintage machine is by far the best!! All you pay for is the fancy buttons on the fancy new ones! @@kieferann6252 Yes, thank you . Thats what I was saying to my daughter . The new ones break down so quickly and they only fill the load half way no matter what you set it on for a Large load . Thats so frustrating . No more filling the large load with water that covers the cloths . Those days are gone . This machine being older seems to fill properly .
do you know anything about replacing any parts on the washer. i have had mine for 10 yrs and believe the drive belt needs replaced and can not find anything on i.HELP
I bought a referbished Whirlpool gst9679pw3 Estate washer a few years ago. In the last week it slowly stopped spinning or agitating at all. water will not drain. Thought it may be the lid switch, but found the switch was not even connected and i think is bipassed. No broken coupler i think, timer spins, but thats about it. Orderd a new switch, but the machines connector wire harness is cut . Could the bipass have damaged the washer? Any ideas?
You probably are having a water pump issue. If the lid switch is bypassed just leave it, it won’t cause any issues on these older machines. But a small item or baby sock stuck in the pump will cause those issues.
How many cubic square feet is it? We had this exact same model for the washer and I tried looking it up but cannot find it. We bought it for $50 cash like 10 years ago and it worked till recently using it sometimes 2 times a day and on shitty unbalanced floor. Amazing washer. I just wanna know the cubic feet it is so I can either buy this same one if I find it again or buy one knowing I'm getting about the same size overall. It's probably 3.2 Cubic feet but I just wanna be sure and I been trying for so long online to find it out and before I took it to the junkyard after removing all useful parts I didn't look at where it would show that and nothing I can find online says it :(
Currently have this model, and it is starting to stink causing the house to smell. Could you help me find and know where exactly the filter is to clean it?
There isn't one. But these actually work really well with hot water and a 12 hour soak. Limited-time deal: Washing Machine Cleaner Descaler 24 Pack - Deep Cleaning Tablets For HE Front Loader & Top Load Washer, Septic Safe Eco-Friendly Deodorizer, Clean Inside Drum And Laundry Tub Seal - 12 Month Supply a.co/d/hdQ5SUf
Got this same dryer a couple years ago. For some reason, when it goes to the spin cycle it instead jerks forward, stops, and jerks more forward over and over. Spinning more like the hands on a clock rather than a smooth spin, and making a bad grinding noise with it.. Any ideas?
Lol no prob. The washer would be having those issues when spinning for possibly a couple reasons. 1st and easiest, the motor coupler. It's a 3 part plastic and rubber coupler that goes between the motor shaft and the transmission. If it's broken or cracked that could be the problem. If that's intact, then it's probably the transmission slipping. Might be worth pulling the pump off and making sure there isn't a sock stuck in there as well. Good luck!
I have this washer and dryer set, I wouldn't get it again if someone gave it to me, The washer is a water saver. Great, but go to your rinse cycle check and see how much water you get, I was getting about 3" - 4" of water to rinse a load of clothes, Luckly I had a problem with the motor while still under warranty and the 2nd repair man knew how to adjust the water level. The first one told me there was no way to adjust it. The other thing I don't like is getting Hot water, that is a joke, since they have lowered the temp of the hot water intake, so you get very little hot water on a hot water wash, in fact it is cold.. Doing a small load on hot you get no hot water added. Even a warm wash is a cold wash. Whirlpool use to be a good brand but in my opinion not any more. And my dryer has started to shut off for no reason, but I did notice if the lint filter has just a little lint in it when I start the dryer it will shut down, I heard that if you use dryer sheets it can case a invisible build up of the softner from the sheets in the wires on the lent filter and you need to clean it "wash it" once in a while. I did yesterday and will see if that is what the problem might be.
I actually just posted a video on this…but hold onto your hat….it’s 25 mins long and 2x speed. It does give me the appearance of ninja like speed and reflexes ;)
The closer the dial is to the start position of any given load the longer it's going to take. These style washers will typically be done in less than an hour, as short as 30 minutes. I always let it rip on heavy duty right at the start position.
There's something called a downy ball, I know a lot of people are confused where to put softener in. So if you go on Google or whatever search engine, look it up and you'll find some instructions or you can just replace the agitator with an agitator with fabric softener dispenser. The downy ball also goes in a washer without an agitator (A.K.A pulsator washers).
I’m trying to troubleshoot this exact washer. It’s stopping mid cycle before the spin/rinse. Any suggestions? Possible the cycle timer?
Nice dryer i have the exact same sound as the dryer but different bodykit of my dryer.

Hard to say exactly but yes I would guess 3.2 or 3.5 cu ft.
And i like the dryer hummung lol
Question- Do you happen to know where the lint trap/ filter is at? Mine is extremely dirty and I want to wash out the trap.
Yes I am curious too
Top loaders do not have filters.
Same problem, wonder did you fix the lint problem?
How do you recalibrate this washer
These models of washers and dryers plus refrigerators are the best. since you have so many.
I need a washer hose where you can get it at🤔

Otherwise you need to disassemble and remove the tub to be able to get down deep and truly clean the machine.
@@joshcobb4100 Will do. Thank you for your response!
Where is the lint screen? How do you clean it
I've been wondering the same thing!
I do you replace the heating element for the dryer?
Where is the fabric softener compartment at on this washer?
We are getting soup scum or residue on the black clothes, is there an issue during spin or rinse?
Probably a build up of fabric softener problem.
@@joshcobb4100 could it also be drain issue; too slow or clogged?
Not typically with this type of washer. Unless your clothes are coming out super wet.

Sounds like a bad roller wheel. They come in a 2 or 4 pack on Amazon and there are a few videos showing how to replace them. That’s my best bet!

@@judyquimby7628 it doesn’t give you just hot water, the inlet valves mix in cold water too so it is more efficient
It shouldn’t use straight hot water unless you have a hot option, but even still it’ll mix the cold in for a correct temperature.
How long does it take if i set the mode normal heavy duty?

I don't. But thanks for the interest!
How do u reset an estate washer?
You can’t if it’s like this one. It has an old school timer…no reset on it.

Yea I turned the water on and cleaned the hoses. It ain’t my outlet either so idk what’s going on
Either going to be a bad timer or bad inlet valve.
Ok I’ll check that appreciate your help
