- McHale's Navy Full Episodes: Season 1x27 | "A Wreath for McHale" 18 Apr. 1963
With McHale and his Crew presumably killed in action, publicity-hungry Binghamton plays the part of the grieving commanding officer when a war correspondent comes to Taratupa looking for a big story. But when McHale and the crew turn up very much alive and well, Binghamton must cooperate with McHale to work up a cover story.
RIP to the cast of McHale's Navy.
RIP today.... the GREAT Tim Conway!
Ole Leadbottom!
Captain Binghamton:
" Wha, Wha, Wha ?!!"
"McHale! THIS is the Saturday night END!"
"I could just scream!"
" Why me, why is it always ME!
12:05 the look on Carpenter's face, LOL
Yeah that kills me every time :)
These shows are hilarious 😂!
The interplay between Conway and Flynn is priceless.
Binghamton making it all dramatic.buttering.up his.story.to make him
look good.
Compared todays shows that R just really really sorry trashy trash....
A great comedy.
"Keep that engine going." I didn't get that when I was four years old.
Also Parker counting the RPMs she's doing. Uh huh.
This was always such a fun series.
old Mose ...brings back good times...back when I was a kid!
@@robhofer2390 I still am a kid and it's so much fun
ALL OF THESE VARIOUS OLDER CLASSIC TV EPISODES ARE REALLY GREAT TO SEE ONCE AGAIN SO MANY YEARS AFTER THE DAYS OF OUR YOUTH WITH MANY NOW VERY WELL KNOWN ACTORS BEFORE THEY REACHED THEIR ULTIMATE FAME -
THANK YOU VERY MUCH FOR FINDING AND POSTING THEM HERE.
Clay Marston No need to shout!
@@robhofer2390 lol
My grandson just called me Commander McHale... I was a flight wing commander... Don't know if that was a compliment... Lol
"Now you look here, I am a Captain in the United States Navy..and I've got nothing to say." LMAO
Hilarious watching Lt. Elroy Carpenter watch Binghamton grab the limelight. 🤣
Joe Flynn. One of the all-time greats!!!!
David Great Comment. One of the funniest actors I have ever seen.
Thanks for noting that!! The cast is great on this show. But it's the interaction with Captain Binghamton that makes it all work. And Joe Flynn plays it to the hilt!!
JOHN WIGHT WHO PLAYED SEAMAN WILLY MOSS IS THE SON OF COUNTRY MUSIC LEGENDS JOHNNY WRIGHT AND KITTY WELLS.
Anyone notice how long 30 minute shows were back then only 4 minutes of commercials
Gene Murphy ......I noticed that a long time ago. Today's shows, your lucky if you get 20 minutes and the rest of the time it's DOT COM commercials. I quit watching regular tv.
J Polar yeah back in the day not enough commercials and no pause on DVR rough on the bladder now I can take the show to the bathroom room on my phone or tablet and I’m old enough to remember 2 channels in upstate NY before moving to CA and 3 channels
Never watched this show but I hear from all it is great.
Epic
Good one❗❤❗🇺🇸
They sure wouldn’t be holding that machine gun barrel after they fired those rounds off. It be a tad bit HOT!
That War Corresondent is the same guy that played the Mess Hall Sgt in Gomer Pyle, USMC and also was the Butcher in the Brady Bunch TV series name Sam who was Alice's Boyfriend ! Alice was the Housekeeper and Cook on the Brady Bunch !
I could just scream 😊
This episode is the 'quint' (no pun intended) essential, absolute paramount episode for Season 1. This episode shows their true characters despite WWII. This shows the Chaotic Good of McHale (rebelling against the rules, but always for a good cause), the Chaotic Neutral of Parker (submits to Lawful Good (Admirals) / Chaotic Good (McHale) & Lawful Neutral (Binghamton, LN is one 'stripe' away from LG, believe it or not!)) and the Chaotic Neutral of the Crew (occasionally...ex. 'Captain's Mission: Season 1 #13). (Yes, I do some D&D, and MBTI, Meyers-Briggs Personality Test.) I also have incorporated this entire show in D&D adventures. Mega-fun! Their Rock-on, carefree attitude is the hallmark of the entire series. For that reason, this episode is #1 on my Season 1 list. 'WE'RE BACK FROM PARADISE, WE FEEL NO PAIN AT ALL, WE'RE BACK FROM PARADISE, WE HAD A BALL!' ...best line in the show. Party on dudes!
Good pun, Cherokee, very punny, lolololo!!
Anyone else recognise the War Correspondent as Sam the Butcher, Alice's crush from The Brady Bunch?
@Brian Landers Yeah he was Sgt. Hacker on Gomer Pyle, and half a dozen characters on Andy Griffith
Mark Fryer he was an infrequent Sgt on Gomer Pyle USMC
@Brian Landers Melvin was a regular on "The Phil Silvers Show" in the 1950s, where the last two seasons were produced by Edward J. Montagne, who was the producer of "McHale's Navy". Lots in New York-based actors from the first show, including Billy Sands and Bob Hastings, ended up out in L.A. working on this one, either as regulars or guest stars.
Junior man on the crew made Cruise ship Captain
@Brian Landers he punked Barney Fife a few times on the andy Griffith show
Carpenter's quizzical look at 10:40
Gruber; the epitome of a New Yorker!
Yessss
🤣🤣🤣
Scheister's of the UTMOST.
At 15:41, on our DVD set, my dad lost it :)
Some of that looks like Battle of Midway footage (8:22) 😳
Like it
shoot - any more n i got a lockjaw
The flag on the boat looks like it has fifty stars. During World War Two, flags had forty eight stars. Hawaii and Alaska were not states until nineteen sixty.
F in history for you. 48 are strait up and down, 50 are staggered. F for critic status too.
FATHER THOMAS count the stars
They became states in 1959.
@@fatherthomas1575 You are correct. Tough to try and count the stars but they are not staggered like the 50 star flag.
I have 48 star.flag my dad got from a WW2 submarine that was tied up at a pier in Seattle where he worked in the 1960"s, The flag still looks new,.
Allan Melvin
There radar mast is in tact
At 1:00 is that a ballpoint pen? While invented in the '30's it was first introduced to the U.S.A. by Reynolds in October, 1945. Somewhere during this series, Binghamton had a medal ribbon. Where and when did it disappear?
'nuf sed
In the Dead-Eye Chuck episode Lead Bottom lost that clock on his desk to a destroyer captain. At one point Carpenter was a rival pt boat commander, not just a sidekick. Who cares?!
@THE AVERAGE BEAR I'm a bit foggy on the details but I watched the episode "Dead Eye Chuck" on RUclips and see.
@@rjonboy7608 It's An Ensign Gets a Zero on our DVD set
@@upthedownescalator630 you are right. I must have been confused. I remember when I tried to look up that episode I came up with nothing but junk. I never got back to it.
@@rjonboy7608 Yeah maybe it's different on RUclips. I know some episodes of the Lucy Show are uploaded under different titles than they are on the DVD set.
What’s that guys name...he played on Andy Griffith quite a bit?
Alan Melvin!
Archie Bunker's friend too.
@@robhofer2390 Allan...
He was also on the Brady Bunch as Sam the Butcher and Alice’s boyfriend

It would have been nice if Binghamton would have been left out for At least one stupid episode
The show was designed so that Flynn, a veteran comedy actor, and Conway, a great comedian, could bounce off of each other with Borgnine as their straight man.
He was, Season One, Episode Three, McHale's Seven Cupids
