I am..Since 2000 & I'm here to say that she needs more education and to stop exaggerating these videos. What she just did was trick you into thinking an old fashioned heavy highlight using a comb instead of a brush (Waste of time and not nearly as precise) & Saran wrap was some "New technique" ..Sorry ladies!! It's not nor will it ever again be new. It's a highlight & tone. Simple as that. Less theatrics, more attention to details & maintaining the integrity of the hair.. That's what will help you ladies the most. Best wishes!!

She toned hair that didn’t need to be toned because it feels weird to not tone a client. Ok 👌

Hey just want to say I've been watching a lot A LOT of hair videos lately, since I'm trying to make a radical change from my dark hair (I"m licensed too)...have seen a bunch of your videos! In all the other videos of yours, your hair is much longer (maybe some extensions), and more of a butter yellow or platinum blonde. This video...I LOVE LOVE LOVE your color, cut, and makeup! You look gorgeous! Just had to tell you!

"Thank you" so much ;) P.S. I'm 62years old... many many years ago I was a cosmetologist... It has save me a lot of money doing my own hair... I have let my hair grow out... and am now going to go back blonde... This video really helped me... ;)

I never thought to use a comb for highlight retouches! Seems to save a bit of time because the comb naturally feathers it for you. OMG Mandie you're a genius!

  • @Chuckprest

Ok. Do it put that scoop back in the powder canister. You just ruined the rest of the lightener. Also the mixing club bows are great. For color. Not lightener. The bleach dries up and can get into the motor. Transfering into another bowl is a waste of product. Using a comb is ok and some overlap is honestly expected. Infact you should go back over each section with lightener and 2.5vol to remove any pre existing toner to have a clean base to tone. Using cling wrap is too time consuming. Use wax paper sheets instead. Same result with 110% more control. Don't be abrasive with lifted hair it's not worth the damage you are creating. Try to think things through a little bit before you go and execute. You will save more time and time is money. This comes from experience. My apologies to leave a negative comment but remember it's not about our pocket, it's about our client. Make them happy and they will make your pockets happy.

  • @barbiejean1701

Your new technique as you call it is a great one people have been using that one now BUT there's TWO things you did wrong that I think you should know BEFORE you try doing this technique on someone else.. I noticed that you were brushing the comb through the hair with the bleach on it not only that but you were rubbing it back & forth. Those two things are NEVER supposed to be done when using bleach especially with someone who already has fine hair. You don't comb bleach through the hair because it will start to become stringy with the process chemicals already on it & you will get the bleach on the hair that's already blonde which I saw that you did do & you still went ahead and brushed that blonde piece through the comb as well.. and the second things rubbing the hair back and forth that's like pouring a whole bowl of bleach on already bleached hair because what it's going to do is break off get bundled up & become straw or stringy like. Yes her hair came out good in the end but you need to focus on both things her color being good in the end and still keeping the integrity of her hair ! I hope you take into consideration the advice because those two things you did can turn someone's beautiful hair into stringy hair falling out

    Hi Mandy!
I just wanted to say thank you for uploading these videos and all the time you put into them. I've had a lot of trouble finding someone to do my hair and get the result I want... since I have a really bad case of Trichotillomania.👽👿☹💔
After my Dad unexpectedly passed, it got so bad I decided to shave my head. Now I'm in the process of regrowth and learning how to lighten my hair to the level I prefer without damage.... and without the brass. I really love your techniques and super appreciate your honesty.
💰In the process of buying all products you used... including the brushes. (I'm a cosmetic artist... I totally get using the correct tools even bowls!)
...So yeah, I can't express my gratitude to you for making it a bit easier for me. Sincerest thanks Mandie.
*Let me know if you're ever touring in West Palm Beach, Fla!!! Love you to do my hair or go to any education you offer!

Redken is an ammonia based developer... Therefore, your lightener is now an ammonia lightener. One would think Magic has a dedicated non ammonia lightener.

Benita Rodriguez Ammonia is a product created when the oxygen from the developer comes into contact with a reactant in the color/lightening powder, its not in the developer itself.

I would loooove to try this technique, but I guess I would still have to use foils because i do love the cling wrap technique, but I'd need an assistant to help me do that like you did lol. I know this is your girl, so asking her to help is no biggie since you did eachothers services, but how do you feel about asking clients to assist you in that or holding foils, ect? Also, just bought a tub of that MAGIC, can't wait to try it! And the brushes. Thanks for the help girl!

I've really tried to like her over time, but I just can't take her seriously. Too much airhead behavior. Too many contradictory statements & too many times of seeing basic tricks of the trade trying to be passed off as a "New technique" ..For example, using a comb to apply.. Isn't new. Using saran wrap.. Isn't new. A heavy highlight.. Isn't new. Being overly excited & dramatic about products.. Distracting. Saying things like, "Most times I don't like to tone when my clients hair has reached this level" ..Then, turning right around and saying "I can't imagine not toning my clients hair" ..Contradictory. All of that performance for a good old fashioned heavy highlight & tone. I've tried, I really have!! Good day.

Sharon D. Sharon D. I agree! I CANT EVEN w/her! I paused this video to look under her *info for color formulas (but, she never puts them since she probably just “wings it” every time) she might be nice in real life but she plays this silly unprofessional act, if she’s trying to be informational and innovative, she’s got a long long way to go.

    • @lorim.3697
      @lorim.3697 5 лет назад +3

Exactly! If you were to just sloppy / heavy apply with a regular tint brush quick flip up on a Foil-hair would not be overworked , overlapped ., and get same result. Bleach apps. Need to be pretty precise , something us “ seasoned” pros. Actually know and practice for the health of our clients hair. ✂️😉 adding drama or dramatic scenes doesn’t always earn you respect in the Big Girl Hair world where we’ve spent thousands and years to stick to what is *Not * going to damage in the Process of Creating a Look. Even when I was an Instructor., had I seen that mess in the first sections, she applied-I would have stopped her cold., told her to cleanly apply, just to begin with . Nothing to see here, sorry to say. I applaud all talent new and classic, but not this (type), I do hope she actually learns proper methods in the future!🤔

Looks pretty. I followed the link for MAGIC and read the ingredients, like that there are good things in there, but I avoid the Sodium Lauryl Sulfate whenever I can, in shampoos, lotions, and in this lightener. I hope in the future they can find a substitute for that ingredient, it isn't good for you and can absorb into your scalp. Google it and find out about it.

+Allie Presley First of all you're young so you have time to try many jobs. I'm a cosmetologist and I do enjoy it . There are things to think about when making your decision. You will need to work weekends, clients can be difficult sometimes, no health benefits usually, income can vary and you stand all day. I would suggest talking to a jobs counselor . A college degree will never hurt you and you could always go to hair school later. After you really think about your choices if your heart is still in cosmetology , then do it!

Just wondering if your client gets a discount for being your assistant. How do you work that bc my clients would take issue to that. As for the bleach, I've tried it and I think I like Keune ultimate blonde (in the white cannister) and BlondeMe better. Less damage.
