Most of the people that own a pickup truck don't even need one , but they buy one just because , similarly I don't need a fat bike but I bought one anyways . Jokes apart I own a number of ebikes including aventon level , radcity 4 , emmo monta , sparkbike city , Igo elite 2 , rad mini but nothing feels as comfortable as my radrunner 5 step thru , though it might not be a fast bike but it screams authority on the road and I love how the white stepthru looks . I just came back from a ride and its snowing here in guelph ontario , and just loved the extra traction of those fat tires. PS I love watching your videos

Enjoyed the points you made. That is many of the reasons that I bought my Ride1Up LMT'd. It more resembles a regular bike, and will pull over 30MPH, when needed!
That bike is one of two styles I've been leaning towards for those reasons along with the weight being half of the KBO which is on the lighter side of the heftier bikes.🙁
This KBO is sooo great! My parent bought an ebike three years ago. But it's very heavy, it isn't so convenient to ride without electricity. But KBO is much lighter, it's easy to ride even it has no power. Thanks for your detailed information about KBO. I just wanna buy new ones for my parents.
Fat tire bikes for single trail paths, grass, gravel, mixed surfaces. I have both a fat tire (Aventure) and commuter (Surface 604 Colt) and both have their uses. I made the mistake of taking the commuter bike out on a 50 mile ride along the I&M Canal in Illinois and wish I would have taken the Aventure.
I'd imagine you would get better range from a non-fat tire bike, because they take less energy to keep rolling. This is why trains can pull so many cars, because the rolling resistance on a steel rail is almost zero.
In addition to the commuter style bikes being easier to pedal and manage, the other benefit of the narrower tires is that they're much easier to source (standard mountain bike parts for decades), and cost much less than fat bike tires. Fat bike tires are at least $150 each, and supply right now is very difficult for them.
I agree with everything you said. I meet so many people, and make so many friends with my Radrover fat tire bike. Everyone wants to know why they have fat tires, lol. I tell them it's the style now. However, I would rather get stuck with this bike than mine. At least I could pedal home. The fat tire bikes are almost impossible to pedal without the battery. You might as well walk it. Great review. I like this bike and I see it has a right handed twist throttle too!
OK. I'm going to be a little harsh here. 1. A much needed update: Fix the squeaky brakes. 2. Good water bottle placement? Maybe if you've got 6' long arms. It's absolutely useless under the down tube near the peddles. Why didn't they just place it higher up on the top tube closer to the stem? 3. I applaud the commuter tire choice. (Maybe I should have led with this.) 😎Fat tire bikes are a solution in search of a problem. 99% of the people who are going to ride this bike are NOT going to benefit from fat tires. It's a marketing ploy/fad at best.
bottom line; try the bikes out before you buy if you can. take your time. ask a lot of questions. talk to people who own Ebikes. buy a bike to suit you, not the fashion.
100% commuter hybrids are the best. Everything you said about them being usable unpowered, attracting less attention, riding smoothly is true. I love my little workhorse! Being a shorter, heavier gal, people tried to steer me to a folding fat bike - nope. They're WAY too heavy to maneuver. I got beat up by the 60 lb bike i test rode, never mind the 90lb models that are out there! I think bike weight is really important to keep in mind for newer riders who aren't used to handling bikes, or for people who aren't very physically fit/older. The bike I went with (second choice, first not in production) weighs 49lbs, which is fairly light for an ebike, but even that is a bit much for me. If I ever have the cash for another ebike, I think I'd go for a very simple, no frills stealth hybrid commuter that weighed as little as possible, or maybe a kit conversion. I wish I were tall enough for the current production Ariel models.
They haven't changed their biggest issue that I experienced. The power at PAS 1 & 2 is ridiculously powerful and can be dangerous. KBO doesn't allow you in the settings to change the power mapping to the different PAS levels. The biggest reason I did not buy a KBO.
All valid points, and adding Tannus Armour makes pedaling even harder! I've only run out of battery once (except when range testing), but that one time was with Shreddie McSkate, and while we were still miles away he said "Let's go full throttle all the way back!". My battery was at 1%, and the 1800 watt motor drained that 1% pretty quick. Needless to say, I "felt the burn" in my legs, lol. The previous bottle mount must have been designed by someone who did not consider all the factors. I had a Velcro mounted bottle holder on the top bar, and moved it forward so it would be out of the way. However I soon realized that when I stopped, the position of the bottle in front of me looked very inappropriate! 😲
Here's what I don't understand, why would anybody want their water bottle 2" behind the front wheel (Fender or Not) so it can have every piece of road debris slopped up on it and including where animals have be laying dead. I would rather not have any water bottle out in the open. Have you seen all the nasty stuff on the roads and even trails. Put it in a pouch on your back or on the front or rear racks.
I see this is a three-year-old video nice pretty accurate because that’s the same electric bike that I own right now I live in New York City and it commute wonderful with and without power and the power that it has is very strong and the range it’s pretty good range, but I’m trying to up the range right now I actually have a 48 V 20 amp hour battery right now my house. I just need the balancer and the knowledge because the batteries inside of the tube and I don’t know how to connect those wires out of the metal box. I would probably have to drill a hole yeah that’s just Stuff I don’t have so I don’t know what to do. Like bring it to a place and bring my battery with me and the balancer and tell them to do it but then is it even impossible because the battery wire is inside the battery metal case I’m trying to figure out how to make this happen because I want more range. I’m OK with the speed. Oh yeah, most definitely great video. Nice content
Battery arrived with no battery I ordered two bikes one arrived without a battery. I called customer service and they said every few hundred bikes has one missing a battery or front forks. There said they will send another battery and a bag for my inconvenience. The battery showed up but would not charge. I tried charging it multiple timers with no avail.I don’t believe there is any kind of quality control to have something like this happen twice. I called and emailed customer service and have yet to hear back. Also, never recieved the bag.
Well I have to disagree with you on the fact that the fat wheel bikes are just a craz, I bought a himiway for the wait limit, as I weigh 330lbs, and the himiwaw well support 350lbs. The kbo that you are riding well support a max weight of 300lbs and only has a 500 watt motor, where’s my himiwaw has a 750watt motor. So there are reasons for the fat tire bikes. Plus’s they are a great workout when you pedal them.
I swear by my Radcity4, it’s way better than a fatty on pavement and roads because less resistance from the tires, even on packed gravel paths it’s better
I think I am going to sell my Radrover. I want a smaller bike I can load into the car and go places to ride. Those trails where you are really inviting, nearby and the Rover is a beast.
Very good review. I just received my Breeze last week. I got the new frame with with the bottle holder on the down-tube, but still received the old Display and "I think" the old fenders. Because the fenders rails are really close to rubbing the front tire. Since I have not ridden the bike yet, I'm going to contact KBO to see about getting the updated parts. P.S.- - Do you know why thy stopped using the seat with the attached handle? It seemed like handle would have helped in lifting the bike onto a bike rack. Thank for the info.
Another good video, I like my Fat Tire Himiway, because it takes the bumps so much better than a skinny Tire Bike, like you said in the video air up those tires to 50 lb and it's going to Rattle your teeth out, that's the way I felt when I had my stunner X compared to my Himiway
I just watched a throttle only range test of this bike(other than yours), he did 36 miles. I'm convinced your range test was faulty. Perhaps your desplay was actually reading miles, not KMs(34.3 miles). There's no reason a bike like this would only get 21 miles on throttle only.
I wish that I would have seen this video a week ago, I received my Rad mini and I like it, but I wish I would have gone for a commuter bike, the fat tire bike is heavy and I will probably only use it on paved areas.
That’s the stupidest location to put a bottle holder. The old cheap Chinese bikes use to do that. I hate it. So I bought a saddle with a bottle holder on it.
I have a Radrover 5. I have ridden 1000 miles in 4 months. I have the Kenda Juggernaut and it is already worn out. What tires would you suggest for the winter riding that will be coming up?
Aren’t hub motors inexpensive? I wonder why they don’t offer the KBO with a 1,000watt+ in order to manage hills, or weight the passenger may be adding to the bike along with themselves.
Still rocking my original lectric xp but honestly have been researching this style of bike. Like you said much more efficient than a fat tire if just riding on pavement.I’d like to see more manufacturers start coming out with commuter style ebikes but with a 750w motor for bigger guys or for people that live in very steep hilly areas.Seriously considering this type now as my next ebike.
So that's what your calling the best all around size urban tire, (Commuter)...lol' that's why you never see fat turd 4 inch tire bikes on city streets but only on bike trails.p.s. I run my tires at 65 psi and rule the city streets and alleys.

Agreed! Two very different ebikes for different uses. About to get my first ebike, and then I’ll see what other ebike I need
👍 for support, but I quit at 500w.... 750+fat tire scrambler for everything! Xclass with rear rack & panniers, best deal anywhere 👌
Great info, thanks!

The water bottle holder was not where you said it was. It was right about in the middle.
Great points thanks.....
OK. I'm going to be a little harsh here.

Idk man. More and more fat ppl like myself so those fat tires may be necessary lol
Fat tire wont fit the bus bike rack.😔
So that bike is 4 pounds lighter than my 24x4 but your correct, my fat tire bike is hard to pedal without juice. Be well.
All right all right all right!
bottom line; try the bikes out before you buy if you can. take your time. ask a lot of questions. talk to people who own Ebikes. buy a bike to suit you, not the fashion.

Not many 1,000 watt rear hub, 35 mph commuter ebikes with that size tire.
All valid points, and adding Tannus Armour makes pedaling even harder! For me, the fat tires make transitioning surfaces alot easier and stable. So if you go off trail at all, fat tires start making sense

how do you drink while riding? i imaging it would get so dirty there.
Stop at the bar. Seriously when did the world become so thirsty?
