Numeral 7 Installation Atop One Times Square

Ever wondered how the huge New Year's Eve numerals get to the top of One Times Square?
Each year at the stroke of midnight on December 31st, the lights on the New Year’s Eve Ball are turned off as the numerals of the New Year burst to life shining high above Times Square.
Each giant New Year’s Numeral “2-0-1-7” stand 7 feet high. The four numerals use a total of 496 9-watt energy efficient Philips LED bulbs. The numeral “2” contains 145 bulbs, the "0" contains 164 bulbs, the numeral “1" contains 72 bulbs, and the numeral “7” contains 115 bulbs.
The journey of the numeral "7" starts in Times Square and then up to the very top with the help of an elevator, staircase and a couple of winches.
