I got the Thing-a-ma-jig and it didn't have ANY instructions at all. I am so happy to have found this video and others like it. So THAT'S what those little rubber things are for ! thanks for posting Potomac Bead Company! I subscribed and signed up on your web site too.

I have one of the smaller wig jigs and it has a smaller hole pattern and i use it for smaller pieces

I went to use this and it sucked, simple reason is the small pegs are falling through the holes, if i pick up the jig, they ended up going right through the jig. I am going to return this for one more, if the pegs still fall through, i am going to order some of the other more expensive wire jig, I did enjoy making a couple of pieces, through the struggle, but it took more time,

Can you get square pegs for it?

My wire constantly slips off the top of the pegs. I'm using 18 gauge as test wire. Any tips before I return this?

Do you hold it down with your other hand as you are working?

+Patricia Costanzo I believe the thing-a-ma jig delux comes with some rubber washers that can be placed on the bottom. You might be able to get something like that at a hardware store. You could also perhaps try adding some rubber cement to the pegs.

Take your pegs to the hardware store or fish and pet dept at Walmart and get some new plastic tubing that fits tightly and cut your own..hope this helps.

If you are an expert then yes you can use pliers but I think if you want to make something like earrings you want something like this to make them exactly alike.

Hi Sandra, yes it's a very useful tool for anyone who doesn't do a lot of wire working and just needs a few simple pieces.

tube/ sleeve things do not work as , yes, they are too tight to slide onto bottom of pegs..... pegs wiggle in the holes with AND without them.... total P in the fingers. With today's capabilities in manufacturing this is lacking in precision. Not sure how what you're showing is 'consistent' or looks like more than 'crafty'/kid project. Disappointing product if one is attempting to get professional looking results.

Working with wire is a different skill set to working with beads. The jigs try to close that gap by helping you to make small pieces to use in your projects. Beadalon also has a few videos about them:
